  1. go Norma! Twobluecats, I hope you still like the Jay Robb after surgery. So many people have said that their taste changed after surgery. Mine did not. I like everything exactly the same as I did before surgery. Good luck! I hope everything goes well for you!
  2. You're right about that! You're going to lose lot's of weight! I hope you don't have any trouble getting lots of liquids in these first few weeks. It's necessary to get in a lot of liquids in order to make breast milk. I am sure you will not regret your decision, in the long run!

    Aloha everyone!

Hi there, Honestly, I don't know what causes hiatal hernias, but it seems like more of us have them repaired during sleeve surgery, than people that don't have one at all. I had one too, and I didn't have spasms. I take some pretty good sized capsules for interstitial cystitis, and I have taken them since a week after surgery. I tried opening them up and putting them in liquid, but they tasted too nasty. I have had no trouble taking them and I had my surgery 6 months ago. Feel free to ask anything. We are all glad to help.
  5. The majority of us have had our sleeve done by Dr. Aceves because he does 3 leak tests, and practices in a great hospital, not a clinic. he is wonderful, on top of all that!
  6. Yes, I am wondering how you are doing too. I hope you will keep us posted!
  7. I think the reason I was not the least bit tired after surgery was because I was able to get in tons of Protein. I didn't have the issues of not liking my Protein drinks, so I got over and above the required amount of protein. The same goes for Water. I had no trouble drinking the way some people do, so I had over and above the amount I was supposed to have. My problem was drinking slowly. I was only supposed to have 2 oz every 20 min. and I had to watch the clock so I didn't have 8 oz in one minute.

    Greek Yougart Eaters, a question?

It's great stuff. Plus I like eating things that have calcium since I can't drink milk anymore.

    Wisdom about the sleeve

I think yogurt is fine. There is non fat yogurt. I eat non fat blue berry Greek yogurt with 10 grams of protein and 100 calories. It's a great snack, non fat with protein.

    I am getting discouraged...

I am very sorry to hear that.

I'd really like to chat if anyone wants to talk!
  12. I would not have had any trouble going to disney that soon after surgery. I felt great within 48 hours of surgery. I could not even tell I had surgery. If you think you can follow the post op diet while out of town, go for it!

    I am getting discouraged...

Why is Mexico out of the question. You could get it done for 9500 from one of the best bariatric surgeons available.Dr. Aceves has done most of our surgeries and not one of us has any complaints with him or the hospital he practices out of.

    can't get a grip

Maybe you could go back to the basics for awhile. Have you heard of the 5 day pouch test? It's great to do to get rid of cravings. 2 days of liquids only, 2 days of mushies, and one day of solid Protein. If you could get all the carbs out of your diet for a few days, you would not crave them.

    Hunger Pains/Burping

Burping would be a lot more welcome than the passing gas that I have. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat. I am wondering if it is a gall bladder issue.
  17. I used to drink Atkins RTD before I got the muscle milk light and premeire from costco. They are not my favorite, but I like the convenience of just opening something. I can do that now with the other 2 and they are way cheaper.
  18. Having my band removed and getting the sleeve was the best decision of my life. If I were you, I would not want to have 2 surgeries. I did not have any problems getting all the Protein and liquids in right after surgery. I also feel the same as Tiffy in regards to getting a bigger sleeve. You can always have small meals more often if you need to, so you can keep breast feeding. We will all be here to support you!

    slight setback

Norma I am sorry to hear about your knee. You'll do fine losing weight with the sleeve. I don't think it will slow things down. Hope it feels better soon.

Love my VSG 15 months after!

I totally agree that Dr. Aceves is awesome. I am glad to see someone here who has had surgery more than a year ago. Hope to see you continuing to post here. Welcome to VST

  22. So does that mean that splenda is a sugar alcohol? I didn't know that, if that's the case.
  23. we all had that problem at first until our diet progressed to mushy foods. It's normal. Liquid in, liquid out.

    4 weeks out SOFT DIET?

Mixing cottage cheese with yogurt is good.
  25. Dr. Aceves office gives you a paper while you're in the hospital with common terms in case one of the nurses doesn't speak English. All of mine did though.I think most of his staff does.
