Approved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oregondaisy replied to JudyJudyJudy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am really happy for you Judy! -
Thanks! I got out around 9 am yesterday. I couldn't stand siting there raising my bill by the seconds.

I am impressed Tiffy! I have no desire what so ever to try spin classes. They always ask me and I always say, "spin classes are not for me" I would rather jog on the treadmill any day.

Post Op Diet HELP!
Oregondaisy replied to charitymarroquin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat a lot of salad with chicken breast on top. -
Pretty much everyone loses their hair. I have lost half my hair. I get plenty of protein and take all sorts of vitamins. Nothing seems to help, and from what I have read, it's pretty normal to lose your hair when you lose weight.

I like to make salads. I put in all sorts of veggies and buy chicken breast already cooked on top. I also like to add dried cranberries and sunflower seeds on top.
-
Thanks! It sure feels good to be home.

My favorite is Premier. They are at costco. they are not very low calorie though. They are really big. They have 30 grams of protein for 300 calories. I usually eat half at a time and I am full.

Try to get a prescription from your doctor for phenegran. It's way cheaper than Zofran and works well.

HOME after surgery
Oregondaisy replied to shutterbug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can certainly relate. I just got home from the hospital from having pancreatits. I sat in the waiting room for a couple of hours and on an ER bed for 6 hours because there weren't any beds available in the hospital. It's horrible to be in pain and be stressed out on top of it. Try drinking something warm. Some of the people who were having a hard time getting fluids in, said warm liquids were easier to drink. I hope your pain goes away soon and you're feeling better. -
a lot of people struggle to get their Protein in the beginning. Have you tried the nectar drinks? There is a thread that lists the places you can order samples so you don't get a bunch of stuff you don't like. I hear the Caribbean cooler is really good. You are not alone. There are a bunch of people who did not like the Protein Drinks and didn't get much protein until they moved to the mushy phase.

Sleeve vs RNY - I have to decide for surgery next week!
Oregondaisy replied to njsleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
People who get RNY/gastric bypass really have trouble with gaining their weight back. Their stomachs stretch out. The sleeved stomach only stretches a little bit post op, until about 6 months. They use the muscular part of the stomach to make the new stomach and it isn't stretchy like the new stomach they make for gastric bypass. -
Sorry to hear you are sick Judy. Being nauseous is a horrible feeling. I hope you get over whatever bug you caught! Thanks Newmom. I am home from the hospital and feeling sore, but nothing like the pain I had when I entered the ER.

Strange Questions????
Oregondaisy replied to thinoneday's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You increase good carbs-more fruits and veggies,a few nuts, etc. You will stop losing unless you are exercising more than you're consuming. -
The stupid dr. has been here every day this week at 6am sharp to wake me up.Now when I want him to release me, it's 8:20 and he is nowhere to be found. I am afraid he is in surgery and it will be much later til I see him.:drool:

Oregondaisy replied to heftynetty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is such a good way to put it. The sleeve is so much easier to live with than the band. The best is yet to come! Please keep posting and checking in so we know how you are doing. We ALL want to support you! -
Out of recovery and doing pretty well. I am pretty sure I'll go home tomorrow.

Heftynetty checking in after difficult surgery
Oregondaisy replied to heftynetty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. We have all been thinking of you. I hope when you are a much thinner you, it will become a distant memory and you won't regret that you have a sleeve. You now have a tool to keep your weight under control. I am really sorry for all that you went through but I think you would have been disappointed to gain weight back after band removal.I hope every day is easier and you are feeling better. -
Thank you Susan, Thinoneday, Vegas, Cajun and Carolyn! It's good to hear most people say it's an easy recovery. I was reading at that other board last night, and someone was saying they were in a lot of pain. It freaked me out. They said they will be taking me to surgery sometime after noon today. My levels in my pancreas went from over 4,000 which they said was in the scary rate, and today it's a few hundred.I am glad it's surgery day today instead of tomorrow like they thought, cause I was going buggy with boredom in this place yesterday. I want to start recovering. The nurse told me the IV fluids were 20 calories per hour. That means I had 200 calories yesterday. This is a good thing!

Mountain_lover now on the Pre-op Diet!!
Oregondaisy replied to mountain_lover's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great news, Mountainlover. Your surgery date will be here before you know it. -
Thank you Norma Soon2b and Lan. Yes, all of you should eat some extra Protein in my honor. I can't believe it's been 30 hours since I have had food and I am not hungry . Gotta love the sleeve. I am sure that is why they are keeping me locked up in here. Eating would inflame my pancreas and if I was home on my own, I know I would sneak something!

Thank you ryansgirl and RubyTuesday! The support on this board is so amazing!
