    Weary from Dieting

There are days when I literally have to force myself to remember to eat. I drink a protein drink every morning. I saw my band doctor because he did my recent gall bladder surgery and he told me to start supplementing with another protein drink if I don't want to lose anymore weight. I'll admit that there are days that I totally pig out on junk food, but I don't feel like I am dieting in the least.

    Another food for thought moment

Oh I can't wait to hear how they come out. I am bummed that my vit D 3 has not gone up at all and I am anemic. Iron is not fun to take and you have to be so careful as to when to take it. Are you going to be in the chat room tonight?

    man food

longhorn, you just barely had surgery! You'll be able to eat more so don't worry. At one month out, I was barely off the liquid diet. Honestly, in two weeks I will be 9 months away from surgery, and I am totally satisfied with the amount of meat I can eat. You just have to cut the pieces up tiny and make sure you chew it all up very well.

Tiffy that's actually quite a bit of meat. I don't think I can eat that much steak. Mushy foods I can eat more of, but steak or chicken makes me full after about 5 bites. You are really eating so healthy! WTG!

    On the right track !!!

I agree. Zumba is such a blast. It hurts my knee so I have to modify some of the moves.Sometimes I feel like a clutz because I am so uncoordinated. I can get my legs going right, but when I throw the arm movements in, I mess it all up. I love it anyway, and I do the best I can! Judy, that's awesome that you go so late. You are really motivated.I have to go first thing in the morning when I get up, or I just won't go. I have gone to Zumba after work though, just because I love it so much. I have to go when they offer the classes.
  6. Just don't take them at the same time. It's difficult sometimes to get the timing right when adding supplements. Are you on an acid reducer? You aren't supposed to take Iron or calcium within two hours of the acid reducer either.

    Confession Time

Chancie,Have you seen pictures of him? the only reason I ask is I have wasted a lot of time on the phone and really gotten my hopes up with these online things. One of them, I actually had seen his picture but he looked nothing like his picture. It's not that I am looking for anyone good looking. But I have learned that it really is true about chemistry. I used to think that was just a load of bunk, and I could learn to have feelings for someone. I have since learned that if the chemistry is not there, it's not going to come after awhile either.

    On the right track !!!

Judy, I LOVE Zumba! It's a blast! It makes my knee hurt though, so I have to be careful. Once you get used to working out, you will miss it when something comes up and you aren't able to go. I've been working out for 5 years now, and I am really grumpy when anything interferes with my gym time. That is what made me seek out WLS surgery 3 years ago. I was working out like crazy and not losing. I am really glad I already had the habit. I freaked out when I was told I couldn't exercise right after surgery.

I started ball room dance classes in Sept. and that has been a big help. I've met a lot of really nice people, and guys that like to dance, but already have partners. We rotate partners, so I still get to dance. I'm having a lot of fun with it and we practice and have dances all the time. I'd just like to get it out of my head that I'd like to find a bf. I am on several online dating sites, but I don't seem to have any interest in the guys that contact me. I shouldn't go so much by pictures, but I've learned by meeting for coffee, if there's no chemistry, there is no point in meeting. I won't give up on the online thing, because it seems to be the only way to meet people that are interested in dating.

    Anyone Else feel Stupid?

You don't need to push foods that aren't working for you. figure out what tastes good to you and doesn't cause you problems. Nobody says you have to advance your diet any faster than you need to. A lot of people have trouble with eggs. They don't seem to be sleeve friendly. If you like Protein drinks, drink them! If you want to try the tuna, make it very soupy with low fat mayo. You don't have to have non fat mayo. I bought the already made chicken salad in very tiny cans that is right by the tuna in the grocery store. Those worked well for me and they are about the right amount. It seems like there is about one third of a cup in one of those cans.
  12. I really don't see much difference between mushies and soft foods. I stayed on liquids and mushies a lot longer than I had to because solids just were not working for me. Do whatever is comfortable for you. You'll figure out what works and what doesn't. As you get farther out from surgery, you will be able to add more foods back into your diet.

    Is it too much?

I didn't mean to be critical. I know some doctors aren't very clear on the post op diet. the reason they say not to drink soda is that it is supposed to stretch out the new stomach.

    Is it too much?

Has nobody told you that drinking soda is against the rules with a sleeved stomach? Has your doctor not told you which foods are allowed on the mushy stage? I don't think french fries are on the list. You should get full a lot faster when you move to solid food.

    unflavored protien

Yes, you can use the Isopure ready to drink on the clear stage. I woudldn't buy too many though, because most people don't like it. I tolerated it just fine though. My GNC unflavored came in a tub. Maybe they have smaller amounts that you can try. You can mix it in anything that will disguise the taste, but I would not mix it in Water. Walmart has their own brand of sf stuff that is like crystal lite and there are all those packets of different stuff near where that is on the shelf that you mix with water and you can mix the Protein powder in that stuff too.

    unflavored protien

I bought unflavored protein powder at GNC for my clear stage. It's their own brand. It was fine mixed in crystal lite, SF, Hawaiian punch, etc. I didn't use it all up, so I mixed in in with my chocolate fudge pudding flavor from BSN lean desserts and got rid of the rest of it.

Judy I think you should talk to hubby about this. You can do it tactfully. There are books and videos out there, and just tell him you want to spice things up!

    Confession Time

My confession is that I really want to be happy without a man in my life. I had a couple of loser boyfriends in the last few years, but I still keep thinking that my price charming is out there somewhere. There is nowhere to meet guys in the town I live in, and it seems all the guys I find online are losers too. I need to learn to be happy alone.

It does get better. I can really eat anything I want and I am satisfied with the amount I can eat.

    NSV shout outs

I had no pain what so ever. I had a NSV today. I went to Target. We don't have a Target where I live. They had some cute skirts. I have never wanted to wear dresses and skirts before I lost all my weight. I picked out a large and tried it on. It was too big. I looked and all they had were larges and extra large. That is a first. Usually, I tried things on, and I needed a bigger size and all the big sizes were gone. I didn't even think to look for a medium when I looked on the rack! The new image thing is weird. I was practicing my dancing with a friend. she brought out a full length mirror so we could watch our feet. I looked in the mirror and I could not believe that was me dancing. I did not recognize myself! I don't have a full length mirror at home.

    My Big Girl Panties!

Some of my panties are so huge on me, it's sort of funny. It was the last thing I started buying when my clothes got too big. I still wear some of my old ones that are huge on me. I'd like to get some bikinis but all I ever see are high cut. I don't like those that are really high on the sides. It's difficult, because they aren't something you can really try on!

    biotin

Sorry, I will get back to you on that. I am in Arizona and I have to use WIFI at the grocery store. I don't have the bottle with me. I bought them at Walmart and I usually just take one per day. I am not sure how many mg are in each capsule, but honestly, I don't think they do anything. I still lost a lot of hair but I have some new hair growing in. It's falling out less and less, but it's still falling out some. I am going on 9 months at the end of this month. The dr. told me months 4-9 were the worse.

I like the way this board is set up better than OH, but I like the fact that there are more people over there who have been sleeved over a year. Keep in touch!
