Cajun that is so cool! I know what you mean. I am actually going to let my friend take some more pictures of me. I've been talking to a guy online and he's been asking for more pictures. I had realized at dancing class. I was the thinnest of all the women in class. I looked at all of them. It's not a big class, but that is the first time in my life that I have been the thinnest woman in the room.

4 days our and - BORED OUT MY MIND!!!
Oregondaisy replied to filodough's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What in the heck is kindles? I did everything after surgery that I did before surgery. I visited friends, talked on the phone, read, watched tv and I was back to work in less than a week. I have a desk job, so it was not strenuous. I had surgery on a Wed. and was back to work on Monday. -
feeling down and doubtful...

If you want to, go to Obesityhelp.com and look for MacMadame . On her profile she has all kinds of links to studies about the sleeve. They are all very informative. -
Protein Powder Survey - PLEASE READ

I wanted to add that I love muscle milk light. It's about $20 for a case of it at Costco. If I had a Costco here, I would never order online. I love the convenience of RTD protein drinks. -
Tiffy I am so sorry. You're so strong but you have been through so much. I hope the time flies by and John is back really quickly. I agree that you need to not watch the news right now. Just do things that make you feel good!

Safeway is now carrying the Fage. I am so happy. I get the plain and mix in the sf syrups. There are only 7 grams of carbs and it has 15 grams of protein.

You don't have to see a psychiatrist to get antidepressants though. That's one of the reasons I am not on them anymore. The one I was taking for years was taken off the market. Every other one I tried gave me really bad side effects, like the anxiety and nausea you are talking about, as well as headaches and every other side effect possible. I know a lot of people are on Effexor, and that is one of the ones I tried too. I tried them all. Don't give up. Why don't you just try your regular doctor. They can give you samples to see if you can tolerate them, until you find someone who accepts your insurance if you want counseling too. Therapists are very good, even if they can't write prescriptions. Call around and find out who will take your insurance.

Lan, it really sounds like you could benefit from antidepressants. It's amazing how many people are on one antidepressant or another. A lot of people don't consider themselves depressed. They are used for mood stabilizers as well as depression. Why don't you make an appointment with your regular doctor and talk to him/her about all your feelings.

Is this normal or abnormal?!?!
Oregondaisy replied to Kai's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, you will notice a huge difference when you move to solid food. Your stomach is healing, and the staple line needs to be protected at this time. Drink your liquids slowly and follow your doctor's post op diet. For me, once I was cleared to start on solid food, I found it very difficult to eat. I ate about 2-4 small bites of solid food a couple of times a day and continued to supplement with mushie foods and liquids until I learned to eat again. This is a learning process! -
I could have ground meat on the mushie stage. I cooked ground turkey and a little taco seasoning and mixed lf sour cream in with it too. If you like avocado, you can smash a ripe one in that too.

biotin/hair loss question
Oregondaisy replied to PinkJewels's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine are 5,000 also and I take one a day. Maybe I'll try two a day and see if it makes any difference. Mine are capsules too and I got them at Walmart. -
Heck no you won't get kicked off the board. We are all very frank and honest around here!

Protein Powder Survey - PLEASE READ
Oregondaisy replied to Behemoth845's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
There is also a thread in the food section where you can order a lot of samples from many different places, for the OP and anyone else looking for samples. There are a lot of samples out there. Samples are definitely the way to go because some people don't want to drink Protein drinks after the post op stage.Who wants a giant tub, just like mb20mom said. My absolute favorite is from Netrition.com and it's PVL whey Gourmet Peanut Butter chocolate, but right now it's $30. I would definitely drink it all, but I don't like ordering from there since there is nothing else there I want. Their shipping is 4.99 no matter how much you order. I order from vitacost.com and they have a lot of supplements and Vitamins that I order, besides protein powders. -

I hate ordering online. I would love to be able to buy something that tasted good but ordering online seems to be the only way out there these days. I agree that there should be sample packs available of many flavors. BSN Lean Dessert sends all their flavors for the cost of shipping. You have decided to take on a pretty big project. Have you read the "rate your liquids" thread? Also, there are a lot of people that are asking for things to be sweetened with Stevia rather than Nutrasweet and Aspartame is poison as far as I am concerned. -
Long road to recovery
Oregondaisy replied to lucygoose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did anyone ever tell you what is causing you all these problems? If there is nothing wrong with your sleeve, and all your tests came back with no problems showing, what is making you so sick? I am sorry you're going through this. I know it has to be miserable. I hope you feel better soon. As long as I have been visiting this board and obesity help, I have never heard of anyone having these kinds of problems, unless they have a leak, which you don't seem to have. Please keep us posted. -

Hello, Lots of Concerns, This is a long one
Oregondaisy replied to Mary :)'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there, I am sure you will love your sleeve as much as the rest of us. I can eat milk products such as cheese and yougurt, but I can't dirnk very much milk. I am almost 9 months away from surgery. I've never been someone to drink alcohol so I can't answer that one. I know people who do drink in moderation though. hair loss is pretty common, and yes , it does grow back. Since I had my gall bladder out, I am never constipated. I have the opposite problem. Before GB surgery, I took Miralax every other day and that kept me pretty regular. -

I haven't had surgery yet, but I keep getting people's opinions.
Oregondaisy replied to wannalise's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really didn't tell anyone for the same reason as you stated. I really did not want to hear anyone's opinion. I am sorry your friend spilled your personal business. You might tell people that the statistics for people losing weight and keeping it off on their own are about 2 % and that is why WLS is becoming so popular. -
no more than 2oz every 15 min???
Oregondaisy replied to Megan_SF's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was one of those people who had no trouble drinking. I had to force myself to slow down. I could easily drink 8 oz of Water in 15 min. Tiffy is right. They aren't worried about stretching the sleeved stomach. They are worrying about stressing out the staple line. You could give them a call and ask how much to progress during the liquid stage. They are great about answering questions. I can't remember how quickly I went from the 2 oz every 15 min to drinking more than 2 oz and having to just sip. -
I feel so blessed.
Oregondaisy replied to pumpkin07's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt fine 2 days after surgery. I went back to work in less than a week. -
Are you on an acid reducer? Most sleeve doctors prescribe an acid reducer for the first 6 months, at least.
-
OK - That's IT! I am STILL not losing!
Oregondaisy replied to rcarter76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I always went on big long stalls and then would drop 5 lbs in a week. I never lost every single week. -
I don't have any boobs left. It's ridiculous. I would never spend the money on a boob job, but I definitely have small tube socks for boobs.
