Spinal after Surgery...???? Huh?
Oregondaisy replied to Keys Pirate's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine taken out after surgery. I am glad I had it. I had no pain what so ever from surgery. Talk to the anesthesiologist. He's great, just like everyone else there. He will answer all your questions. -
still not convinced with the sleeve .. am confused

Your doctor will prescribe an acid reducer. It's pretty standard to be on it for 6 months after surgery. I rarely burp. -
feeling down and doubtful...
Oregondaisy replied to Rgodinez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The links she has on her profile are great studies that were done on the sleeve. It's nice to be able to click on them and read all sorts of studies and research. It doesn't matter how you feel about her. It's not about her, it's about research on the sleeve done by DOCTORS not by her. -

The staples are there forever. They are titanium staples and dr. acveves oversews. there is not one person on this board that didn't had a wonderful experience with him and the staff there. I went alone too and I was treated like a queen. -

Most people are very happy with their new weight loss tool. yes you do have to take an acid reducer for a period of time. You should read as much as you can on here. The board is divided up into sections where you can find answers for everything. Personally, I am able to eat anything I want, just not very much at one time. I can still comfort myself with food if that is what I choose to do.I can pig out on Cookies anytime I choose to. Ice cream is something I have a difficult time with because too much of it will give me diarrhea. I love being at goal weight and not struggling to stay there. The sleeve is the best thing I did for myself and I wish I had done it long before I did. -

Passports come faster than they say they will. I got mine pretty quickly. I think it was less than 3 weeks. -
Miralax is a great product. I was drinking it every other day until I had my gall bladder out. Having that out caused the opposite problem.

I never lost weight every single week. Our bodies have to adjust to the new weight. You've lost a lot of weight in a short time. I think you're doing just fine. Count your carbs and if you're eating less than 30 a day, and getting some form of exercise, you will get to your goal weight.

Good news... and trying to figure out the rest

Tell them you have an upset stomach probably from nerves. Order soup and eat it slowly. -
Go to the food section and look for a thread called places to order samples. There is a chike website on there. They are now charging 6.95 for Chike samples instead of $3. If I were you, I would order samples from a lot of places. You aren't going to want a big tub of something and end up not liking it.

Let's get this singles forum going!
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've been doing the online thing for awhile now but haven't met my prince yet, just a couple of frogs. Stayed with both frogs until the relationships petered out, and I am still looking for my prince. It's so hard to meet people where I live. I started ball room dance classes and that's helped with having fun, being single, and not lonely. -
Lan, I don't think it's just the surgery. You have had a lot of stuff piled on you all at once. It's very sad that your daughter is not being supportive. I would be very upset if my daughter treated me that way. Just know that we are here for you and you are welcome to chat with us any evening you feel up to it. I hope the ent. can figure out why you're having this mucus problem.
-
If you would like to talk in the chat room, I have the chat window open. At the very top, it says forum, blog then chat. just click on it and we can talk! there are some of us in the chat room nearly every night and I think you would enjoy it! I will hear the doorbell and know you came in.

FINALLY some relief!
Oregondaisy replied to hope4204's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hope I am so glad I found this post. I have been wondering so much how you're doing. Please keep us posted! -
Feel free to send me a private message anytime. I can't remember if they have done tests to make sure all is well with your sleeve. I think it was Vegas Angel who also said she had a lot of mucus right after surgery. She is really good about answering private messages. I can't remember what she did to resolve it. It would seem that something is wrong that they just aren't catching. Do you think you are grieving over not being able to eat as much as you would like?

I have been taking Biotin because it's supposed to be good for the hair/hair loss. I just noticed on the bottle it says" Calcium or other minerals can block the absorption of many medications. Do not take this Biotin within 2 hours of any medications. this is getting tricky.I was taking my calcium and all my Vitamins and supplements together. So am I not supposed to take my acid reducer within 2 hours of anything else? What about the calcium? Am I supposed to not take that within 2 hours of taking anything else? Hope someone knows the answer to this. I don't want to be taking any of this stuff and have it not being absorbed.
-
The Biotin capsules that I take are 5,000 mg. I finally remembered to look on the bottle. My calcium is low, and I eat cheese and yogurt every day. My vit D. is low and I take vit D every day, but I am increasing it. I agree that you can't get everything you need from food the way we eat with a sleeve.

Exercise! I learned that it really is true that endorphins make you feel really good. I was on Seoquel for 10 years and had to go off of it because they discovered it caused liver failure. Then I went through every single SSRI on the market after that, trying to find one that did not give me horrible side effects. In the mean time, I started exercising in an effort to lose weight. I noticed that when I left the gym, I felt really good! When I wake up in the morning feeling really anxious, I go to the gym and exercise my brains out. It gets rid of a lot of anxiety. My depression went away, after a several of months of going to the gym on a regular basis, and I finally told the doctor I was giving up on taking one cause I always felt worse from the side effects. Did you have these problems before surgery, or has it all been since you got your sleeve?
-
So if someone has a horrible experience, how are you supposed to email them if their post is removed when they try to share about their experience?
-
Zoloft made me very nauseous. I tried it for 2 months and the nausea never went away. a lot of people seem to have good results from effexor but that made me feel very anxious. I already told you in another post that I had bad side effects from every one I tried, but that does not mean you will. Did you feel that way before you started the zoloft?

Tiffy, it looks so cute! -
So I guess what Alex is saying is that if people have good experiences with their doctor, it's okay to post about it. If they have a bad experience with a dr. like secret garden did, they have to keep their mouth shut. How does that seem right, Alex?
-
I am completely disgusted that secretgarden's post/thead is gone. I used to be a moderator at lap band talk and I started posting on that board before it split off and this board was started. I am seriously thinking I don't want to post here anymore because I thought this would be one board where people could be truthful about their experiences and it would not be sensored. It is obviously not the case. I don't want to be a part of a board where complications and bad experiences are hidden from people doing research on which doctor to choose.
