Chronic Constipation
Oregondaisy replied to barbannn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was a problem for me before I had gall bladder surgery. Having the gall bladder out seems to cause diarrhea. Now I am on Iron, so I am wondering if it will come back. I bought some fiber one Cereal today to add to my yogurt cause I have a feeling the iron is going to block me up. Miralax is great and so is benefiber. -
that's really cool!

I used GNC's brand of unflavored protein powder and put it in everything until I used it all up.

OMG I am ACTUALLY drinking a protein shake!
Oregondaisy replied to Stacie's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
using soy milk is a good idea because a lot of people who are sleeved get diarrhea from milk. soy Slender has way less calories than any other brand of soy milk. -
mexican chicken and black beans

I don't see why you couldn't just leave the corn out. I also don't see why you could not use taco or enchilada sauce. It just wouldn't be as chunky as salsa. -
Nexium, Prevacid, Prilosec, other? Are you taking anything post-surgery?
Oregondaisy replied to youknowit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take the generic of Protonix. It's a tiny little pill. I have tried to go off of it and it's no fun.I was on it before surgery, so I see no reason to go off of it now. My co-pay for all generic medications is $10. My pcp prescribes it to take twice a day, but I only take it once a day, so I get 60 for $10. -

Maintenance advice/suggestions/issues
Oregondaisy replied to Tiffykins's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Those all sound like good choices tiff. I think eating slider foods that don't make you feel stuffed would be a good idea. No sugar added applesauce, cottage cheese,(if you can stand it, I can't ) things that really don't fill you up. I know it's a balancing act. I know a lot of people really think this is a great problem to have, but since you want to get pregnant, you need to do what is best for you. -

Where are all my fellow chatters? I have the window open so let's talk! -
My dr. tried me on remeron both for sleep and for depression, and the carb cravings were terrible! My dad's dr. gave him Remeron to increase his appetite when he lost his appetite at 90.

Healthy carbs and healthy fats like nuts really do seem to be the answer.

There are so many of us that traveled out of the country to Dr. Aceves in Mexicali Mexico. There is not one person that wasn't thrilled with him, the hospital and all the staff. -
Tiffy you're just going to have to remember to eat some healthy snacks. Weren't there some protein bars that you liked? How about a few crackers with peanut butter? You don't have to gag down protein shakes that you hate when there is good food out there! My guilty pleasure is pistachio nuts. I also love those 100 calorie packs of cocoa dusted almonds.

Anyone else experience this?
Oregondaisy replied to newmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hair loss usually starts at about 4 months for most people no mater what kind of Vitamins and supplements they take, or what they eat. Can you get some ready to drink Protein drinks to drink in the morning. I remember you had problems with ingredients in Protein Drinks. -
To Revisioners: Updates on Progress Please...
Oregondaisy replied to Alexa77's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am almost 9 months post op. I can eat anything I want without problems I am 2 lbs below my goal weight. Life could not be better with the sleeve. -
When I wasn't losing, I just gave up for awhile. I didn't count anything and I didn't exercise for a week. When I went back to my old routine of counting carbs and exercising, I dropped 5 lbs. I recently lost 2 more lbs without even trying. I am now 2 lbs below my goal, which is fine with me. I like having a little wiggle room. I am sure I will not get too thin, because I know how to add back healthy foods without overdoing it.

Good news... and trying to figure out the rest

That's great that you got those tickets. I lived in Chicago and I couldn't get tickets. They told me the waiting list would take years. -
Great! That is exactly why I started that page. Everyone likes different things. People should try things out before they get stuck with a bunch of stuff they hate.
