  1. No,everything is fine. Liquids just run right through. We aren't supposed to drink fast or more than 2 oz every 20 min.in the beginning because they don't want any pressure or stress against the staple line. Try to sip!

You can modify if you need to. Zumba is all about having fun, even if you don't do it exactly like the instructors do it. I modify all the time when my knees start to hurt. My daughter is going to start teaching Zumba gold which is for people out of shape, or who have injuries, etc. I think it will be popular because a lot of the older people like Zumba, but it's too hard on the ol body parts!
  3. I took the anti biotics and something like previcid, and I got rid of it but it came back after awhile. I was told it's a bacteria that you can get from food, such as eating an apple with skin that people have handled. I had to do the whole treatment again, and this time after I was finished I did the stool sample and it was gone again. When I get it, I have a pain on my right side, so I know I have it.

    700 sleeves and no leaks

Count me in as someone who loves Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos.I wish I could go and visit them just because I loved being there with them and their staff. They are great! My friend who lives in Phoenix is a nurse and has watched him do surgery many, many times. She said he is just amazing in surgery!
  5. Once you test positive for H Pylori, your blood will always test positive for it. You need to do a stool sample to test for it from now on. I know that's strange, but I have had quite a bit of experience with H Pylori.

Oh Zumba really hurts my back and neck. I am bummed about that.My ortho doctor wants me to give it up completely so I am going to have to cut back on it. I will go back to the eiliptikill machine though.
  7. I will be one year post op next month and I haven't had one. I would like to have one, but money is the issue. I am not having any problems though. I hope to go back to Dr. Aceves some day when I go to take care of my dad's house in Arizona. I really hate to make that drive alone. I hope I can find someone to go with me.

Places to get liquid protein samples

I used the GNC brand of unflavored protein powder. It's not completely unflavored though. I didn't find it made food taste badly though.

    Confession Time

I am in Miami and will return to Oregon on Tues. late in the evening. I confess I ate everything and anything I wanted on the cruise and I am sure I must have gained 10 lbs. I am afraid to get on the scale when I get home! I hope I don't have any trouble taking it back off. I can barely button my pants. I know once I get into my old routine, I will feel better. I am looking forward to that! Letting my food addiction get back out of control was actually not fun.

    Greek Yogurt

Get some davicni or torini sf flavored syrups that people put in coffee. they come in every flavor you can think of. I like raspberry and peanut butter. I also like to mix in stevia to sweeten it or sf jam.

A Carb Question for Tiffy, The Carb Queen!

it can be hard to get the veggies in. I know we're supposed to do protein first, but sometimes I eat veggies first for that exact reason.

    NSV shout outs

I am so happy for everyone that is having all these great NSV. I am happy in my size 8 jeans and don't expect to go down in anymore sizes. The guy I am dating told me the other night that I have a really cute butt. That was fun!

  16. Oh I am glad you have some. I love that stuff. I think it's yummy but some people think it's too sweet. I have the muscle milk light.

    Sad, Mad and Disappointed

Way to go Norma! I haven't seen you here lately, so I was really glad to see your post!
  18. I saw an ad for the Almond Breeze in the newspaper. I want to find some of that! Hood carb countdown is good too. It has very few carbs. I use the chocolate to make my shakes.
  19. I can eat a little bit of ice cream, but more than just a little bit sends me to the rest room for several hours after that. I can eat cheese and yogurt, but I can't drink milk. Lactose intolerance is definitely one of the side effects from sleeve surgery. I don't know why cheese and yogurt don't seem to have the same effect as straight milk, but everything I have read about sleeve surgery talks about lactose intolerance becoming an issue for patients.

A Carb Question for Tiffy, The Carb Queen!

It's pretty easy really, not to eat a lot of carbs. Stick to meat, eggs, cheese, and fish. I ate a lot of chicken salad, egg salad, tuna salad, ground turkey meat cooked with taco seasoning, and added a little cheese and sour cream on top. Greek yogurt does not have nearly the carb count as the other yogurts. I flavor them with sf syrup. I like to roll up a slice of virginia baked ham and a piece of cheese. You can put the flavored cream cheese on there too, if you like. Really, if you stay away from rice, Pasta, bread, etc, you can have just about anything else.
  22. It's very common to become lactose intolerant after sleeve surgery. That is one of the reasons I like mucsle milk. It's lactose free You can try lactaid, but more than likely, it's a case of liquids in liquids out during this stage. We all went through it.
  23. I didn't tell him. When he was in the kitchen getting drinks, I pushed most of my food on to his plate. I am not ready to spill the beans quite yet.I plan to stay under cover as long as I can!

Let's get this singles forum going!

It went very well last night. He is a perfect gentleman. He cooked a wonderful dinner. When he was in the kitchen getting something to drink, I pushed most of my food onto his plate. I was able to eat without him becoming suspicious. We watched a good movie, and I was a little nervous that he might want to start something that I wasn't ready for, but he didn't at all. I had a great time. I am also writing to another guy but I am leary of him as he has a 12 and a 14 yr old. It would be strange to date someone with kids that young since my kids are 26 and 29 years old and have kids of their own. It seems strange to me that a guy 58 years old would have kids that young. Time will tell! I plan to go out with both of them and see how it goes!
  25. Sometimes it's hard to stay under cover. I am going over to dinner tomorrow to a guy's house I started dating. I am afraid I am going to have to tell him. I don't want to, but I think it would make things a lot easier.
