Seattle, Washington anyone?
Oregondaisy replied to callalillyland's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do think you are a nice person. The fact that I don't think I would have surgery with your doctor does not mean that I don't think you are a nice person. I would drive to portland to meet you. I am always looking for a reason to get out of town. My friends go to Portland all the time. I could ride with one of them. We love to go shopping in Portland. -
New to chat forums
Oregondaisy replied to mayleeone's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Join us in the chat room! I see you live on the Oregon coast too! Where do you live? We chat a lot in the evenings. I try to get in around 6 pm Pacific time cause so many people live across the country so it's 8-9:00 their time. We have a great time gabbing and it's an easy way to get to know some of us, and get all your questions answered! -

Darn, so close yet so far away. I live on the Oregon coast. I have a really good friend that lives in Seattle though. If I ever get up there to see her, I would love to get together with any of you! -

Wendy I am so glad to read that you are doing so well! I can't wait til you're back in the chat room! Welcome to the losing side and now start watching the scale start moving right on down! -
Great Tiffany! 16 lbs is fantastic! I am glad to read you're not having any problems. time to watch that scale keep dropping while the lbs just melt away!

City, we have all been where you are with this. Just remember you'll be at goal in no time and learning to date when you don't have a bunch of experience with it, is a whole new experience!

Thrift stores are the greatest! I've never found any pants there, but I've gotten some really cute skirts and tops galore. I love thrift stores! They are perfect when you're going down in sizes. It was really fun at first, but it got old when I had somewhere to go, had an outfit I planned to wear, finally got smart and tried it on before the day of the event, and realized I had to go shopping AGAIN. Really, I've never liked shopping. I have a really hard time making decisions. It's worse when I finally do decide on something and love it and it's too big next time I try to wear it. I am glad I am done with that!

Speak up those with leaks & infections!
Oregondaisy replied to Can.sleeved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
PNW218, I would like you to point out where I called someone names. I also don't think that saying that Tiffykins post was very well written was being rude to anyone. I am glad you had a great experience with your doctor. I wish every single patient that has gone there could say the same thing. Unfortunately, that is just not the case. Stoongals sister's story is very scary. -

Post-Op: When did you have your first carbonated drink?
Oregondaisy replied to MINI-Me's topic in Food and Nutrition
It's not a good idea. It really makes you feel like you're going to explode. For me, there just doesn't seem to be any room in there for carbonation. I was told we were not supposed to have them, but if you're obsessing about it, try and and see if how it makes you feel. -
Anyone want to chat tonight?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Okay, I have the chat window open early tonight for anyone who is across the country in another time zone! -
Honestly, it gets really old. I know that sounds dumb, but I really get tired of going to get something that I really like and I plan to wear, but then I put it on and it's too big. thank God for clearance sales.

Going alone to see Alberto Aceves or......
Oregondaisy replied to tennessee1031's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
They have couches in the rooms. Just make sure you tell them you'll need one big enough for your husband to sleep on. It's my understanding that if you don't bring anyone, it maybe smaller. -
Dr-Aceves-bandsters : Dr-Aceves-bandsters ^^^^^^ click on that. It says bandsters but there are more sleeve people on this group. Dr. Aceves doesn't even like to do bands anymore. You have to sign in with a yahoo sign in name. If you have a yahoo email address, that is your sign in name.

Another hair loss question.
Oregondaisy replied to excited2lose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't answer that. Everyone I know that has had WLS has lost a lot of hair. Everyone complains about it in my support group. I have heard of some people not losing nearly as much as I have, but everyone I know complains about losing quite a bit between months 4-9 -
I ordered it a long time ago. I don't even like it. It's very grainy. I like peanut butter sf syrup much more. I gave a bottle of it to my daughter, and she didn't like it either.

I recommend dancing to everyone! It's opened up a whole new world for me. I noticed immediately that there are no fat people dancing. Dancing has been one of the greatest gifts of losing weight. -

That's great news! You'll be watching the lbs melt away day by day soon! -
I just looked on my 100 calorie pack of cocoa dusted almonds. They are 4 grams of protein and 3 grams of carbs.

I started taking ball room dance classes in September. Now I am taking private East Coast and West Coast Swing lessons. I belong to a dance club and we hold dances all over the place, not in bars. Each dance starts out with an hour lesson. There are all sorts of dances, salsa, night club 2 step, hussle, tango, etc. It's a blast! I dance usually 3 times a week. -
Youtube Videos and your photos
Oregondaisy replied to Tiffykins's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
this is exactly why I have no pictures posted on here or OH. I am not comfortable having pictures available online. I have pictures on my fb but I have that set to private. I did see a site, I think it was on OH where you type in your name, and they had all sorts of information on you . It was really creepy. -
Another hair loss question.
Oregondaisy replied to excited2lose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost about 4 good size handfuls every time I washed my hair. That doesn't even count the handful I pick up from the bathroom floor every day. -

Another hair loss question.
Oregondaisy replied to excited2lose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say I lost more than half my hair. My band doctor who also did my gall bladder surgery, and also does sleeve surgery, told me the hair loss would slow down at 9 months post op. That is when it slowed down. I will soon be at 1 yr. post op, and I have new hair growing back in all over the place. I am glad I have new hair growing in, but it's going to take a long time to replace all that I lost. My pony tail is about 1/3 the size it used to be. I took Biotin, fish oil, ground flax seed, and every other supplement anyone suggested and nothing helped. It's just a natural occurrence after WLS. They do say to make sure you get plenty of Protein every day or it will get worse. That is one thing I can say I did for sure. From day one post op, I made sure I got plenty of protein every single day.
