I just lost another couple of lbs without even trying. If my body is adjusting to where it wants to be, it's still going down. I haven't lost for months so I am surprised when I lose again without doing anything differently.

Chancie, you were talking about putting in your profile what chat room you're in. Which dating site can you do that? At match they seem to find any hints I put in on how to find me cause I am not a paying member. also, where do you chat? thanks, I'd love to find a good site and also chat with someone!

Husband convinced everyone here is fake!!
Oregondaisy replied to 1MP4Life's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dr. Aceves is so great that word of mouth is the best advertisement for him! I am glad to hear your husband knew people who went to him! -
No problem! I eat Greek yogurt. It's way higher in Protein and has less carbs than regular yogurt. Look at the label and choose the one that has the least amount of carbs. Often I will eat it plain and add stevia to it to sweeten it. I can eat salad now, but you're probably not cleared for raw veggies yet. I make it with spinach leaves and I buy packages of already cooked chicken breast. I cut the chicken up very tiny and throw it on top of the salad. With lower fat ranch dressing, it goes down easily. I also buy Virginia baked ham and roll it up with some sort of cheese and sometimes smear laughing cow light cheese or some other flavored cream cheese on it. The key to eating meat is to cut it up very small and chewing it well. I just had some left over steak. I cut it up small and I am a ketchup lover so I dip it in that and chew it very well. Get some G2 (sfgatoraide) or poweraide zero. Put that in the freezer and stir it after awhile and make your own slushies. I also like sf cran raspberry diet snapple. Early on post op, I made ground turkey with taco seasoning, mixed in some sour cream and topped with cheese and that went down very easily.

Anybody lose just a little hair?
Oregondaisy replied to txaggiemom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got tons of protein, and took biotin, zinc and anything else anyone told me to try. I used the Nixosin shampoo and still lost over half my hair. It sucks, but it's growing back in! -
For those who has successfully made it..?
Oregondaisy replied to Dalal's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My skin is not bad at all for someone who has lost over 100 lbs. My boobs are pretty non existant.I'd love to have plastics to get some, but not bad enough to spend what it would cost. -
Just saying hi--new to VS talk
Oregondaisy replied to vsg2010's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome to VST. It's amazing to me that so many of us manage to come up with the money for this surgery. It was definitely the best money I've ever spent! -
Most people in my life don't know. I am really amazed that some people choose to tell everyone. My feeling on this is that it's a very personal decision and it's on a need to know basis. Most people have no reason to have this privileged information!

You're welcome! I really don't see how it would be possible not to lose weight with the sleeve. Our portions are so small, that it makes a huge difference. I think the only way people don't lose with the sleeve is if they don't eat a lot of Protein, and fill up mostly with carbs. Then there are the people who drink their calories with things like high calorie/carb Fruit drinks or those coffee drinks that can have tons of calories in them, or shovel a lot of candy down.

I know that Dr. Aceves paid in advance to advertise on this site. Where is his advertisement? He had an ad on here and it looks like it has been removed. Why was his ad removed when it was already paid for?

Hoping to go from band to sleeve -- any issues?
Oregondaisy replied to chica's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Living with the band is a nightmare. Living with the sleeve is effortless. The smartest thing I ever did was getting that band out and revising to the sleeve. -
Just a rant- John Goodman-

She looks darn good considering she used to be fat herself. She might be mean, but I would take her as a trainer in a heart beat. I like to exercise hard. -
Now what..... (very long sorry)
Oregondaisy replied to RDABGA's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think he has a great bedside manor. He is shy and people take that for unfriendly. He and I have had some great conversations. He sometimes comes to support group too. -
if you're on the post op liquid diet, it's very common. They say liquids in liquids out. After you're on solid food, people tend to go the other direction.

What's the best way to incorporate Protein Supplements?
Oregondaisy replied to jsm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink a Protein drink every morning for breakfast. I have never been a breakfast eater and I love my Protein shakes. At least I know I start the day out with 25 grams. I think most Protein drinks are fine as long as they aren't ones with a lot of carbs. You can get in trouble with Protein Bars because a lot of them have more carbs than protein. -

I didn't tell a lot of people. I didn't want to hear what anyone had to say regarding my decision. The lap band is a nightmare. Read all the band to sleeve revisions that are on here. I hope you can get your insurance to pay for the sleeve. You won't be sorry! -
Now what..... (very long sorry)
Oregondaisy replied to RDABGA's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Most doctors want people to wait about 3 months before introducing fresh veggies, to make sure the staple line is completely healed. You'll find out that the sleeve will help you keep your portions small. You'll eventually be able to eat anything you want, in small portions. You'll have to pick and choose what to eat because if you fill up on bread, you won't be able to eat anything else! Don't worry! We will all help you along the way! -

I would order samples of things to try . I'll get the link -
I hate to say it but "I told you so!" I remember when you were so afraid the sleeve wasn't going to work for you. Congratulations! It's the best feeling in the world when the size you think you need, is TOO BIG!

BJ I eat junk food all the time. Yes, I allowed treats! I really didn't do anything to break the stall. I tried to stay at 30 grams of carbs per day. There are times like parties or holidays that I eat anything I want. But I go back to my regular way of eating the next day. I started exercising daily 6 years ago at the gym. For 3 solid years I went and exercised my brains out and lost 2 lbs every week and gained it back every weekend. Then I got the band and lost about 70 lbs. I've been a carb watcher since the 70's. I went on the Atkins diet for the first time when I was 13 yrs. old! I guess the difference with the sleeve was since I was not ever hungry and my portions were so small, eventually, I started losing again. I always drop about 5 lbs in a week and then go on a stall for sometimes up to 6 weeks. Then I'll drop again. That's the way my entire weight loss went.

cottage cheese is pretty high in Protein. Have you looked in the recipe section at the ricotta bake? It's really good with a little bit of spaghetti sauce on top. chicken, tuna and egg salad are all also good choices.

Acid rebound and kicking ppi's
Oregondaisy replied to stcyt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yeah, it's pretty amazing how things we take and and think they help, actually cause rebound acid. I am doing much better now. The acid has calmed down quite a bit. -

the whole process on how to get off the ppis is on a website c http://thehealthyskeptic.org/get-rid-of-heartburn-and-gerd-forever-in-three-simple-steps The stuff he says to get from the health food store is called HCL with pepsin Read all his articles. -
Well I was banded before I got sleeved and lost most of my weight with the band first. I started having band problems and gaining weight back. It probably took me 6 months to get to where I am now. I lost about 22 lbs on the post op diet and then I was stalled for quite awhile before I started losing again.
