Baby..oh Baby!!
Oregondaisy replied to ichefmastersgirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
okay, find things you can eat. you need to do this for your baby. You can have a spoonful of Peanut Butter, string cheese, egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, try the ricotta bake recipe in the food section on this forum. Even if you only eat 3 bites every hour, it will help your growing baby. Have you tried the Syntrex nectar Protein drinks? They aren't milky and quite a few people like them. You can order some samples from the thread in the food section Places to Order protein samples. Oh and OH Yeah Protein Bars are really good. Order from vitacost.com The peanut butter choc. ones are my favorite. They are sort of like a kit kat bar. -
Diarrhea after vsg???

If you're on a liquid diet, it's liquids in, liquids out. People tend to go the other direction once they move to solid foods, and start complaining of constipation. -
Nexium...the little purple pill
Oregondaisy replied to cactusmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been on it a year. I haven't had it for a month now. It takes your body awhile to adjust so it will over produce acid for awhile. it's getting quite a bit better now. I take gavescon if I get a little heartburn in the evening. -
OK, it happened.......I had my first pity party

You should be able to have any blended Soups. Put it in the blender and blend it until there are no chunks. tomato soup is good with cottage cheese for more Protein but blend it up well. Egg flower soup is good too. -
Leaning Towards Dr. Aceves
Oregondaisy replied to mkg55's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My PcP was very good about it when I told him Dr. Aceves did my surgery. He said some of those Mexican surgeons could teach US doctors a thing or two. Dr. Aceves is the greatest and his reputation just follows him around. If anyone has anything negative to say about him, I've sure never been able to find it. -

Collegan is not a complete protein. It will be okay if that is not your only source of protein. -

Leaning Towards Dr. Aceves
Oregondaisy replied to mkg55's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I searched and searched before I had surgery with Dr. Aveves trying to find anything I could that was negative. I couldn't find anything or anyone negative on any forum. Everyone loved him and everyone at the hospital. When I went there, I found out why. They are so great there and treat their patients like royalty. -
It was working again last night. It was down on Tuesday.

12 days out and no restrictions???

You are risking complications eating steak so soon after surgery. Your staple line has to heal without dense food pressing up against it. Did your dr. not give you a post op diet to follow? -
Way to go Hershey. I am glad you were able to overcome your obstacle. Come back to chat sometime!

I am in Mesa taking care of some stuff at my dad's house. I would love to get together with someone who is sleeved or thinking of getting sleeved. Anyone want to meet up?

Hope you feel better soon. Glad your doctor figured this out quickly. Hope you're on the mend now and can start losing like you want!

There is no reason you can't get to your goal weight if you follow the rules of protein first, veggies if you have a little room, and under 30 grams of carbs per day.

Chat Room...Help Please!?
Oregondaisy replied to BonnieJuneE's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I start looking for people to see if anyone is in the chat room around 7 pm Pacific time. There are usually a few of us there at that time. That's 9pm farther east.... and it's the next morning for people in the UK. -
It seems like about every 2 hours I am hungry.

If you're on mushy foods or the post op diet, the food just won't hold you for very long. Once you're eating solid meat, it stays with you for a long time. -
:thumbup:Yes, we are a fun lovin bunch!

First Meal after the Mush stage.....
Oregondaisy replied to ali567's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried the softer meats first. I remember eating some very tender bbq pork as one of my 1st solid meats. I always eye balled my portions according to how much mushie foods I could eat. I can look at a portion and picture if it will fit into the measuring device I used. I always stopped before I felt full because I learned pretty early on that if I ate until I felt full, I would be way too full in 20 min. It's a very uncomfortable feeling when you are too full. I also stuck with mushie foods longer than I was supposed to because it was hard at first to learn to eat solids. I ate a few bites of solids every day, but ate the mushie foods the remainder of the day. It's a learning process! -
What surgery can i tell people i've had instead of telling them about the sleeve?
Oregondaisy replied to jemmacahill's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told people that I had my gall bladder out. Everyone knows I do a lot of exercising and that I have been trying to lose weight. The only people who are surprised at how much weight I've lost are the ones who haven't seen me in a really long time.
