Those protein bullets are not a good form of protein. Can you get any other kind of protein drinks that are whey protein and don't have any collegen protein in them?

Let's discuss "the foamies" and "sliming"
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh I'm Greek and I love Greek food! I hope all of you learn to chew your food very well and eat slowly. After awhile, it's not as important, but it's really important at first. -
Top 10 reasons to have VSG surgery
Oregondaisy replied to ImdownwithVSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Take ball room dance classes! Dancing has made a huge difference in my life and there are no other ladies on the dance floor who are fat. I fit in with everyone else for the first time in years! -
Make a nice post in the Success story forum! You are a success! If you don't like your job, look for another one. It's so much easier to do things as a thin person. People treat fat people differently. I remember when I thought being thin was going to solve all my problems. I remember saying ( and there are posts here of me talking about it) that I was no happier thin than I was when I was fat. I went to counseling and I learned how to be happy.I found out what it would take to make me happy. Do something nice for yourself! Go get a massage, or your hair done, and CELEBRATE! You are a success!

i'd like to hear from the smaller sleeve patients out there
Oregondaisy replied to selvester420's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost most of my weight with the band but gained some back when I started having band problems. I weighed 167 the day I had my revision surgery and I weigh 130 now. I basically had no recovery. I was walking around outside the hospital the day after surgery. I had surgery on a Wed. and went back to work on Monday. -
many AFTER questions
Oregondaisy replied to Kimmysil's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Look for the thread in the food section called places to get samples. It's better to get samples of things rather than buy a tub of something you may not like. What you like before surgery, you may not like after surgery. I drove the day I got home from the hosptial. I never took pain meds other than the first 24 hours in the hospital. -

Let's discuss "the foamies" and "sliming"
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For the most part, it does go away. It's very common for months. I was on liquids for a long time, way past when I was supposed to advance to mushies. All I can say is don't push yourself. I am 16 months past surgery now, and it still happens occasionally. Eating with the sleeve is a learning process. Chew very well, wait between bites. That is the best advice I can give to avoid this. Also, you will be more full 20 min past when you think you're full. It's true that it takes 20 min for your brain and stomach to catch up. I had to learn to stop before I am full, cause I know now in 20 min I would be way too full, if I ate until I was full. -
Susan how are you doing anyway? You don't check in much you know. I know you're in love and all, but are you loving your sleeve?

Almost 3 Months out - Switched to Atkins
Oregondaisy replied to Morgandobes's topic in Food and Nutrition
I think what most of us do is basically Atkins and just don't call it that. I ate under 30 grams of carbs per day while I was losing but never counted calories. -
Let's count Dr. Aceves Patients!
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Why aren't dr. Aceves patients signing in? I know that over half this board has gone to him but I'd like to be able to have more than an estimate. please post if you had your surgery done by him. -
Miralax is a life saver. I don't take a full doseage of it, but my dr. says it's safe to take every day. It mixes well and you can't taste it. Just start taking it every day.

yes, I can't count how many bottles of Biotin I have gone through. I take it 3x per day and I think all I have gotten out of it is expensive pee.

Don't like to cook- can I make this work?
Oregondaisy replied to Hitorikiri's topic in Food and Nutrition
I don't cook at all. I mean NEVER. I did cook twice when I had a guy over for dinner. I live alone. I eat out a lot and one dinner out is 2-3 more meals at home for me. I make sandwiches now out of that really thin bread that looks like a hamburger bun. I eat tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad. Really, I have no desire to cook. Once in a great while I will cook ground turkey with taco sauce and sprinkle some cheese on top and sour cream. That is cooking for me. It's really not a problem because most of the time, nothing sounds good and I don't want to eat any way. You'll figure it out. -
I have never considered breast implants until recently. I don't know why my boobs are smaller now than they were when I was in H.S. and I weighed 110 then. I literally have no boobs. My A cup is too big. It's demoralizing. I am just afraid of losing nipple sensation if I get a boob job. My boobs look like a little kids tube sock.

Would you go to Mexico alone for surgery?
Oregondaisy replied to ButterflyBandita??'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went alone and I am glad I did. I didn't need anyone and the last thing I would want is somebody around. I felt fine and perfectly comfortable being alone. -

Despondent over apparent gain, please help
Oregondaisy replied to Globetrotter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am a big fan of Miralax and Benefiber. I also added a little bit of fruit back into my diet even during the losing stage. Fruit is healthy and I didn't really care how fast I got to goal. I'd rather have good colon health! -
Update on Surgery against my Will
Oregondaisy replied to Carrie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
She has made it clear that she is not happy with the sleeve, and is not asking for support. There are many posters who need and ask for our support. I think this thread just needs to go away and die and let her deal with this in whatever way she wants to. -
Congratulations! I am so glad you're still here posting. You must be happy about being thin now and all that icky stuff is behind you. Please always stick around here because there will probably be a lot of people who you will be able to help when they get "buyer's remorse" You are an inspiration!

Which was worse getting the sleeve or having a c-section?
Oregondaisy replied to settebee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is no comparison. I didn't even have pain medications with the sleeve after the first 24 hours. I had it right after surgery for pain in the left shoulder from gas. With the C sections, I was in bed and cried from the incision pain. -
I told you that you should be the new mod here. Glad to see you accepted that role!
