3 wks post and FRUSTRATED w/food!!

I think you definitely should go back to liquids for a few days and give your stomach a rest. Is there a Protein drink that you like? You probably also should contact your doctor and tell him/her that you're having all this trouble. Are you drinking any gatoraide ? You need to keep your electrolites (sp?) up. Your doctor may want to give you something for nausea.
  2. Who can afford the clothes people wear in fashion magazines anyway? It depends on what look you're going for. There are those stores in the malls that are for younger people that have all the latest fashions. If you just want to dress nice, I agree that you should just look at the ads that come out in the paper for JC Penny, Macy's etc. Then go to Ross TJ Max, places like that and find them cheaper! One thing I really hate are those really straight tight jeans some guys wear . They look ridiculous. I think the "relaxed fit" looks must better.

    Good News About Chat!

I am very happy. It's not the same around here, not being able to talk to my chat friends. The chat room is also important because so many new people come in there when they have questions. We will be up and running again soon!

    I fainted in my closet

Good! I will be anxious to hear what he has to say!

    I fainted in my closet

I agree. Dr. Campos will more than likely call you back. Are you getting plenty of Fluid besides Protein drinks? Besides your Protein Drinks, you should be trying to get 64 oz of Water, crystal lite, juice, etc. to stay hydrated. Dr. Campos called me when I emailed their office because I felt nauseous. I was in Walmart and I was shocked that he called me. I had expected an email back. I had to go outside to hear him, but he was great. He told me to drink gatoraide or poweraide to get my electrolites (sp?) back up. they both come in sugar free.

    Please Help!! Newbie Onboard

I didn't have to do a pre op diet. Some doctors want one if you have a super high bmi to shrink the liver some before surgery. I would advise you to go to the food forum and look for a post on where to order samples. Don't buy a big container of anything yet. If you have a GNC, you can sometimes buy samples there. I didn't find the post op diet hard.. I was so happy to be losing weight every day and I was never hungry. There was someone who just posted that they got a leak at 3 weeks post op. Leaks are rare though. Just follow your doctor's instructions on the post op diet so you don't put any pressure against your staple line.

    what is going ON!!!

I agree with everyone else too. 800 calories is not a lot. It's not like 1500 or 2000 calories. If you were losing with 800 calories, go back to that and reevaluate if you start to stall.
  8. Waiting for a response from Alex regarding the chat room. Have heard many are unhappy with the chat room now.

  9. Waiting for a response to me pm regarding chat. The chat room has completely died off. Is this the chat room we are going to keep or can we get back some of the old functions we had before? People have called me since we can't chat in there anymore. The newbies miss chat where they can come and ask questions.

Noticed LBT chat is still the same.

  10. That's why I explained that. Your stomach is making just as much acid for a regular sized stomach, which you won't have anymore

    Uggghhhh....annoyed

You haven't even been sleeved a month yet. It will get better. It just takes awhile, that's all.
  12. Most surgeons put their patients on them for 6 months post op. Your stomach is very small after surgery but it seems to make just as much acid as it did when it was the old size. That's why you need acid reducers or acid blockers. Ask your doctor if you should be on them for a couple of months at least, or if you should try without them and see how it goes.

    sick of soup! HELP!

I liked Soy Slender. It's on the shelf not in the fridge. It's not really sweet. I also liked Atkins Strawberry or vanilla n low carb drinks. I think they have 15 or 20 grams of protein. If it's too sweet, you could mix it with some soy slender. You don't have to drink them cold. You can drink them room temp. I like the Syntrex nectar drinks too.
  14. Yeah, they come in chocolate too. I may have to break down and buy some . I want to order some whey gournet peanut butter and chcolate from netrition too, and the shipping is 4.99 for no matter how much stuff you order. Those crisps sound good to put into yogurt. I use Greek yogurt, because it has way less carbs and more protein but it would be good to add a little more protein.

    Magic Bullet

Walmart makes their own version that is just about the exact same thing but much cheaper. I have been using it for nearly 4 years now.
  16. Here you go: http://www6.netritio...s.html#NUTFACTS I personally have not tried them, but people at OH rave about them.

    The truth about GRHELIN!

I do get hungry sometimes. It's not that really starving kind of hunger. My stomach growls a little bit to remind me it's been hours since I have eaten. Most of the time, I am not hungry at all. There have been many times that I have forgotten to eat dinner. I am thankful for that because when I was in the hospital with pancreatitis, I could have nothing by mouth for 4 days and I was never even hungry.

    Low-carb protein bars?

I like Oh Yeah bars. they are delicious. They are almost too delicious. I get them at vitacost.com.They have 8 grams of carbs.

3 wks post and FRUSTRATED w/food!!

I am sorry but it just takes time. I remember being where you're at. I could only eat 2 bites at first for weeks. I had to supplement with protein drinks for a long time until I could increase my bites. One thing that worked for me was to put chicken into my little mini blender so that it was like a paste and used miracle whip light. 2 bites at first, and gradually moved to 3 bites, etc. Think applesauce consistency. Chili may still just be too bulky for you right now.

How do I get in 1000-1200 Calories?

I totally agree that we need to have veggies in our diets. I know we are supposed to eat Protein first, but a lot of times, I don't. I will eat veggies first because I don't want colon cancer. A good way to get veggies in is with salads. If you're cleared for fresh veggies, I would eat some salad with fresh veggies and chicken breast mixed in. I cut the chicken breast up really tiny and use a low fat dressing.

    Need some support!

I didn't tell very many people. I really feel that it's nobody's business other than my kids and a couple of friends. I bet your family will be supportive when you have surgery. They will see how great you feel and look. You are making the right decision.

    The Hair Diaries

I lost half my hair and I took everything and anything I was told that would stop hair loss. I got plenty of protein the entire time from the 3rd day of being sleeved over 17 months ago . I do have new growth all over the place and I will be so happy when my hair is thicker. I used to have really thick hair, but now it's really thin.
  23. I can eat anything. There is not one thing that I can't eat. I do get massive diarrhea if I eat a lot of ice cream, but I do have a weight watchers ice cream sandwich almost every evening. I can eat ice cream, just not very much. That's a good thing, too.

Way to go Diva! I knew you would do well. I bet it won't take you long to get down to your goal because you're so dedicated.
