    What brand of yogurt

I find Carbmasters to be really bland too. Bland is a perfect word for it.
  2. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to when it will happen. I can have it happen with a certain food, and then eat it next time and it's fine. It kind of comes and goes. I will say, now that I am past 18 months, it's pretty rare. I would have to eat a big piece of cake with frosting, something like that, for it to happen. For me, it happens with something that is both high in sugar and high in fat. It will get better. It has at least for me. Ice cream is another story. I can eat a little ice cream , but if I were to eat more than one little scoop, it will happen.
  3. Dumping does not necessarily involve the bathroom, although for me, it does eventually. It was probably the fat in the Peanut Butter. I get it when I eat something sweet and full of fat. I get nauseous, dizzy, sweaty, and eventually diarrhea. It does not happen very often anymore, now that I am so far out from surgery, but in the beginning, it happened when I ate something full of fat.

    Protein drinks gagging me

I like the nectar chocolate trufffle. Go to the thread where it says places to order samples. Get a bunch of samples and find out which one you like instead of buying a big jug of something you may not like.

    What brand of yogurt

You pretty much can't find yogurt with that low of carbs, Greek Yogurt has less carbs and more protien. a lot of people like carb master that you can get at Krogers. I think it's tasteless. I like Chiboni yogurt the best. I also like Brown cow that I get at walmart.,

    VSG or Plication

Dr Aceves is not doing plication because he feels it has more of a chance to stretch out than cutting the excess stomach away. I trust his judgment because he is a fabulous surgeon and I feel he does his research and knows what is best for his patients.
  7. I didn't have any pain so I am no help. Are the pain meds making you throw up because they are too big and hard to get down? You can get liquid pain medication. Call your doctor! Call your doctor and explain that you are not only in pain, but you are nauseous. You can get something for nausea too.

help - almost 5 months out

There are a lot of us who had surgery in Mexico. I haven't had any follow up either. There is a lot of information online. Stalls are normal. For the most part you should have 60 or more grams of Protein per day, 30 grams of carbs, 64 oz of Water and 1,000 calories. You can google a vertical sleeve diet and you should get a lot of information. Somebody just posted something from a website which I think was from Cornell University but I don't know how to find it. I bet someone will provide the link for you.
  9. I had pancreatitis and it is very painful. It was resolved quickly when they took me off of all food and Water with only an IV. I hope your clot dissolves soon. I am sure it's miserable being in the hospital, but at least you're getting the rest you need and hopefully this will be part of your post op diet. Everyone hates the liquid part of the post op diet, so I hope you can skip that part.

    THE STALL HAS BEEN BROKEN!!!

Congratulations! It's really great that you did not say the heck with it . I get so frustrated when I am not losing that I feel like I may as well eat, I am not losing anyway! You look beautiful!

    Where my girls at???

Aceves recommends Dr. Luque. My boobs are completely gone . I am an A cup. I am smaller than I was in High School. I am too afraid to get new ones. I am afraid they will feel weird and i am afraid of losing total nipple sensation.

Doctor is at a Loss to Explain

The band is nightmare. I am so happy that thing is out of me!
  13. You'll find many happy sleeved people here who have gone to dr. aceves. Look for a thread called "lets count Dr. Aceves patients in the search bar. He is very experienced in band to sleeve revisions.
  14. Sounds like you're having spasms. Try drinking something warm first to relax everything inside.

    Constipation

I take half a dose of miralax every day. It works wonders. I have to take iron and I know that's constipating. I freak out when I forget to take it because I know how badly I need it. Some days if I haven't had much in the way of veggies, I take a colace too. My doctor says this is fine as long as I drink a lot of water. Luckily, drinking water is not a problem for me.
  16. Eating healthy fats is a good way to stabilize weight loss. Nuts are often suggested by doctors as healthy snacks. As Tiff suggested, peanut butter is another healthy fat. You can eat it on crackers. I like to smear it on apples. You can eat more fruit too. You may have to concentrate on eating small amounts more often.

    mexico doctors

I can't comment on any other dr besides dr. aceves and there are not enough wonderful words to express how great he is. I didn't mind paying a little bit more. My peace of mind was worth it. he is so great, his staff are all wonderful and the hospital is so clean and nice. I felt like I was in the best hands possible with 3 leak tests.
  18. I have little short hairs all over the place and it makes my hair look really fuzzy. I am just glad it's finally stopped falling out and I have new hair coming in. It took a long time for me to stop losing it between band surgery, revision to sleeve, and then gall bladder surgery. All are a shock to the system which causes hair loss. I am so happy now when I wash my hair and I don't have 4 big handfuls that fell out to deal with!

    A successful journey so far!

I am so proud of you Diva! You are so dedicated and an inspiration to everyone!
  20. I am past 18 months out. I eat anything I The other day I had McDonalds chesse burger . I hadn't had one in years and that is what I was craving. I ate most of it and just tore of the edges of the bread where there was no meat. Sometimes I take my kids to pizza. I can eat one piece of pizza and no, I am not depressed that I can't eat more, I am really full and more just looks like it would make me sick. Yesterday I had turkey and salad. Later on I had a piece of pecan pie. But usually, for Breakfast I have a Protein shake. I love them. The ones I like the best are called BSN Lean desert. You can get them at vitacost.com and their shipping is 4.99 no matter how much you order. They have all sort of good things there. I like the fudge pudding and I like to mix it with the banana pudding. I love the coconut candy one too. lunch is sometimes rolled up virginia baked ham and a piece of colby jack cheese, maybe sometimes with about 4-5 Kellogs multi grain crackers. Or sometimes I have something left over from when I ate out the night before. Sometimes I have part of a lean cuisine. (Can you tell I don't cook? I go out for dinner a lot and always have plenty to take home. I don't regret this surgery for one second. It's the very best thing I have ever done and I am thrilled with the sleeve. If you have anymore eating questions, just ask me. Send me a pm anytime . I will look for your posts to see how you're doing.

Can it really be this easy??

Are you on an acid blocker? Most doctors prescribe medication for stomach burning . If you aren't on one, call your doctor.
  22. Are you eating slowly and taking very small bites? It's very important to chew the food very well when you are new. Try taking itty bitty bites and chewing it very well. Wait between bites and see how it's sitting. You have to learn to eat differently when you are newly sleeved.
  23. I just went back on mine after being off for 6 months. I definitely notice a difference. I did have acid but I also had stomach aches that felt like hunger. My experience from being off for 6 months and going back on is, I would rather feel better than have stomach aches because I thought I was supposed to try to get off this medication.

    Briar's Story

You will love the sleeve! I never did tell my dad. I didn't want him worrying either. I was on the post op diet while he was dying in the hospital at age 90. Best of luck and I hope you get a surgery date soon!

    Sooo... How are you today?

I am not happy that I am having trouble losing the weight I gained from my birthday and being around Halloween candy. I've never had this happen before where even if I am eating right and exercising, the scale isn't moving much. It's depressing! Now with tomorrow being Thanksgiving, I am worried that the headway I made this week will go back to a set back. I did figure out yesterday that I need to change elliptial machines. It was freezing in the gym so I didn't have the fan blowing on me. I had always figured that I wasn't sweating much because of the fan. I always have the resisitance as high as it will go. Well yesterday even with no fan, I didn't sweat much. There are some other eilliptical machines that are harder so I am going to have to start using those . Oh well, next week there are no holidays and I don't go to a lot of Christmas parties, so I should be able to stay on program until Christmas day.
