My Revision is one of the best things I've ever done for myself.
Oregondaisy replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Way to go Irene! I knew you would love the sleeve. I got my band out as fast as I could as soon as I found out about the sleeve. I want to go into that band chat room every night and tell anyone who has not had their band surgery yet to read about band to sleeve revisions. We can't all be crazy! I can't wait to Celebrate all your other goals with you. i am so glad you are over here now and not over THERE! -
Okay, this is getting ridiculous!

When you say you are not eating low carb, how many carbs are you eating? -
There are lots of slider foods that are healthy. Yogurt is a perfect example. Slider foods are foods that go down very easily and don't give you that really full feeling like 3 oz of chicken breast would do.

Weight Training After The Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
Oregondaisy replied to OilSooner's topic in The Guys’ Room
Protein. Lots and lots of protein. You can not build muscle without adequate protein intake. -
Mexicali is very safe. Dr. Aceves is one of the best sleeve surgeons around. You would fly into San Diego and be picked up by their driver. The hospital is very clean and safe. Over half of the people on this board have gone to Dr. Aceves and nobody felt unsafe for one minute.

I sleep all over the place. I don't sleep on my stomach though. I switch from my back to my left side to my right side. It was not a problem. I wasn't in any pain no matter which position. I didn't use any extra pillows or anything either.

You'll date when you lose weight. Believe me, I wasn't fat until after I had kids. After that, it was like I was invisible. After I lost the weight, guys started opening doors for me, started making small talk in the grocery line, etc. I wish I had done this years ago. It's hard to learn to date at this age, but I am having a blast!

I do have one problem!!!

Find all the consignment and thrift stores. There are also some really good clearance sales going on right now. I was able to get brand new clothes when I was losing for $2-4 at Macy's clearance sales. JC Penny has some good ones too. -
Food and life adjustments
Oregondaisy replied to lash44's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are very new to being sleeved. Now that I am close to 2 years post op, I eat a fairly normal diet. There is nothing really that I can't eat. I don't have to chew as much as I used to , but I still chew more than someone who isn't sleeved. It gets easier every day! -
Post-Op Diet - Protein shakes???
Oregondaisy replied to Can'tweight's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Yes you can add those things. You aren't supposed to have any chunks so put it in a blender if you're putting chunks of fruit in there. The SF syrups work great for this! -
a lot of the grocery stores are now carrying muscle milk in their refrigerated sections. I like the muscle milk light in chocolate. The one that isn't light is good too. The banana is terrible. Some stores carry the Oh Yeah brand too. They are good too. Most stores carry Atkins and I think they are fine.

i drink sf hot chocolate in the evenings and they are only 25 calories. a sf fudgesicle is 40 I think . The thing that works best for me is herbal tea. I put some stevia in it and sip it all evening long. lots of flavors out there. I admit too, the head hunger in the evenings can be unbearable.

Oversewing the staple line

I know that Dr. Aceves oversews. -
I really need to figure out a way to get this down. I have heard a lot of really good thing about getting rid of heartburn forever drinking this stuff. Maybe splenda is the key. I've been trying to get off my PPI and it's not easy.

when did you have surgery?

Try out the chat room! We love to talk in the evenings and it's nice to have people to share with. Just click on chat on the top right corner of the board!

Oh Dear, my sense of decorum, flutter my hanky!!
Oregondaisy replied to Globetrotter's topic in The Gals' Room
Globetrotter that is too funny! I can only imagine what someone thought when they found your box. They probably felt like they hit the jackpot. Blackberry, the thing that will help with that is testosterone cream. You have to get a prescription for it, but it works sometimes too well, if you use too much~ -
Artificial sweeteners...
Oregondaisy replied to Disney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are some no sugar added Popsicles that are made of fruit juice. They don't have sweeteners. There is no reason you can't have sugar if that is what you choose over artificial sweeteners. I hate aspartame too and try to avoid artificial sweetner. I would just rather eat real sugar if I am going to have a small treat. -
My nutritionist says that Splenda can cause hunger. He says that our bodies do not know the difference between sugar and sugar substitutes. That does not mean I don't use it. spenda also causes gas for me.

You are doing great. Your food for the day looks great. If you can fit some exercise in there, it should speed up the weight loss. Find something you like to do for at least 30 minutes that will break a sweat. Stop worrying that the sleeve won't work. People lose at different rates. I went on a lot of stalls, but eventually I would drop again.

5 Month Sleeversary and 50 Lbs gone FOREVER!!!
Oregondaisy replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look great! You'll be down to goal in no time at all. You're doing such an awesome job! -
It depends on what you binge on actually.I can eat an awful lot of Cookies, nuts and chips. Crunchy dry things seem to go right down my sleeve. Dense Protein -chicken , steak or any kind of beef, that's another story. You will develop new eating habits while you are on the post op diet., eating soft foods or being on the liquid diet. You get full very fast the first few months or even up to a year. That does not last forever though, so I think you're smart to see a therapist about this. You can binge if that is really want to do.

Valentine's Day... What Will You Weigh???
Oregondaisy replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am not going to make it down to where I wanted to be. For some reason I seem to have stalled at 135 and it won't go down. It has no trouble going up if I eat one wrong thing. I am going to keep at it and try to get down to where I was before my birthday. That was when I went a little nuts eating too many desserts and never dreamed it would not come back off.
