    Flying with protein?

The Oh Yeah bars have 15 grams of Protein and 7 carbs. the PB choc. are delicious. You can usually find them in a health food store. I order them online from vitacost.com where I order my Vitamins and Protein shakes. no shipping on orders over $49 right now. I like the choc. mint too. they are like a kit kat bar. The costco premeire protein bars are very big. The have 30 grams of protein for 23 carbs. I eat half at a time. I always take protein bars on the plane. I have taken Protein Drink sample packets on trips with a shaker bottle but it's not my 1st choice. They don't mix well without my little blender.
  2. I had a resting metabolic test taken. I had breathe into a machine out of my mouth with my nose clamped shut with some thing that looked like a clothes pin. I couldn't exercise for 48 hours before the test. I had nothing to eat or drink before the test and it had to be done as soon as I awakened. It came to 1200 calories. That means sitting around doing nothing, I only burn 1200 calories. My metabolism has slowed down from all the years of yo yo dieting. If I eat much above 1200 I gain weight. If I don't exercise regularly, I gain weight. Oh, and I am only 5' 2" If you really want to know how many calories you need in maint. have this test taken.

    Crunch Time!!! (literally!)

Cocoa roasted almonds in the 100 calorie packs are great. Yummy!
  4. You are only one month post op. yes it does take time. Are you on a PPI? acid reducer or blocker? Most people are on some sort of acid medication. That maybe why you're feeling an upset stomach. Just keep sipping and it may take another 6 weeks before you start to eat more normally and enjoying your food. You're still healing.

    Overeating

I had a really hard time at first learning how much to eat. It's really true that it takes 20 min for your brain to catch up. If I ate until I felt full at the table, I was miserable 20 min later. I had to learn to gauge a portion. Even if I didn't feel full when I was done. 20 minutes later, I was glad I stopped. Usually when you eat too much, , you start sliming where your mouth just keeps filling up with saliva. I have thrown up because I just felt so miserable and I didn't want to wait until it came up on it's own. That has not happened in a very long time though.

    Am I obsessing?

You're doing great! If you stick with protein first and veggies with whatever room you have left, you'll be at goal in no time!

    No hunger, yet no fullness

The best thing to get instant relief for constipation is a fleets enema. After that, use Miralax. I put it in Crystal Lite. Make sure your doctor is okay with that. I was hungry too during the liquid stage. The cream Soups seem to fill me up the best. I ate soup, but I had to blend them until there were no chunks in them.

    Goodbye!

Wow, it's worth getting an ipad just so I don't have to look at the ads. I don't have pop ups and the board loads very fast , but even if the ads are only on the right side of the board, I don't want to look at them.
  9. I wish it was posted somewhere that everyone has a stall at 3 weeks. Your body is adjusting. You'll start losing again.
  10. I am 2 years out at the end of this month. I sometimes take a sip of water in the middle of a meal, but really, I have no room to drink and eat at the same time. I am used to it and it does not bother me. I am sometimes still too full to drink 30 min later.
  11. Yes you should feel more full when you eat solid dense protein. It's okay to eat a little bit every couple of hours. I doubt that you're eating too many calories.

    an appology for all..

Glad to hear your dropped 3 more! It's always nice to break a stall but sadly, they do happen from time to time. Yes, you're right. There is an enormous wealth of information reading this board.

    Strawberries

BBJuice is right. Those tiny seeds could easily get caught in your staple line. I would say 3 months but you should ask your surgeons office.

    Need my sugar fix

SF Popsicles are great. They are super low calorie. SF fudesicles were my life saver in the beginning. Now I really like Jello Mouse in the chocolate Mint.

    Purchased this one today

Muscle Milk Light is Lactose free. I love it. I think it's delicious. You're better off going to the food section and ordering some samples. There is a thread there of all the places you can order sample so you don't get stuck with a big tub of anything.

    Got Milk!

I love muscle milk light. I also really like Hood Carb Countdown. I make my Protein drinks with half Water and half of the hood. I am lactose intolerant since surgery too, and the Hood does not bother me.
  19. There is no reason at all that you can't lose 100 lbs. Just be patient. Everyone loses at their own rate. As long as you don't drinks sugary drinks or eat candy, you can't help but lose.
  20. Putting a heating pad on your shoulder or wherever you're feeling it is very soothing.Walking as everyone else said is the only thing that will really help you pass it .

Will I eat and feel good inside again?

It probably takes a couple of months. I can eat quite a bit more than I could @ nearly 2 years. I feel like I eat quite normally now. I eat salad with chicken breast mixed in, pizza occasionally, really anything I want. In the beginning, I would rather drink a Protein drink because eating was just too much trouble. I wasn't really interested in solid food even though I had moved through all the stages of the post op diet.
  22. Dr. Aceves has done over a thousand sleeves and has been doing them for years. He does proctor other doctors as well as goes around teaching surgeons to do the VSG.

    Are you a You Tuber?

So when I go to U tube, how do I find the WLS stories if I don't have a link?

    Carb question?

I would say 30. When I was in the losing phase, I tried to keep mine at 30 . I didn't lose if I went too much above that. Everybody is different though! Now if I went on a long stall, I'd raise them up for a few days then drop them down drastically.
  25. I was in the chat room last night and the girls I talked to seemed happy to talk to someone who has been sleeved almost 2 years. I will leave the chat room window open while I read posts. I'll hear the door bell if you come in. come in and chat . The chat room is one of the best things at VST!
