    Acid

Most doctors require their patients to be on an acid blocker for 6 months.
  2. Oregondaisy

    Sugar free candies

I eat them. I have to be careful with sugar alcohol though.

    Hungry, or not...after surgery

I am never really hungry now, and I am pretty close to 2 years post op. I was hungry on the post op diet when I was on liquids. As soon as I moved to mushies , my hunger went away. Every once in awhile I do feel slightly hungry where I feel like my stomach is slightly growling but it's barely anything.

    Complication or leak

I answered you on another thread. It sounds like gall bladder. I would get that checked out because it's very common for WLS patients to need their gall bladder out. It sounds just like a gall bladder attack.
  5. The only problems I had were the ones caused by my band. I would tell that doctor if you can't get a sleeve, you don't want a band. Believe me, a band will bring you nothing but misery.

    Fears! Need your Help!

You will be able to eat fruit again and before goal too. Really, after you go through the post op diet, you'll be able to eat small amounts of anything you want. This is not a diet. This is a life long change . Your sleeve will only hold so much. You'll have to eat Protein first but you can have a piece of fruit as a snack. You should count calories and protein and you will lose weight just like everyone else who has been sleeved!
  7. My doctor made me eat 100 grams of Protein and I wasn't even sleeved way back then. So keep that protein up and you and baby will do great! Congratulations! Babies are so wonderful!
  8. I take 3 different kinds of calcium so that I can get the recommended 1500 per day. I had a bone density test which showed the beginning of osteoporosis, so I try to be good about my calcium. I am 58 but I don't want to feel old because my bones hurt.

    Day 20. Almost Human.

Life only gets better from here! Soon you'll be shocked when you try on clothes that you thought would be tight but they slide right on! Soon you'll be living life almost forgetting that you have a tiny stomach

Are you taking a PPI? Acid in the tummy feels just like hunger. My only other thoughts are you eating a lot of carbs? If I eat carbs, I am starving all the time.

    AT GOAL - w/PICS b4 & after

Congratulations! Please post on the maintenance thread in the coming weeks . I would really like to see that thread take hold so people who are new can read about how it feels to live life at goal and do what it takes to maintain our weight loss.
  12. You'll get to where you want to be if you follow the rules, Protein first veggies if there is room. Of course if you sneak in thing that you aren't supposed to eat, it will effect your weight loss. I have to keep reminding myself that this is just a tool not a magic cure. chocolate goes through the sleeve like it's not even there. It's up to me to say no.

I like that term too. Goal sleever. I want to be a happy sleever, not a struggling sleever. For the most part, I am very happy. It just makes me mad when I eat perfectly, just like I did in the losing phase, and I can't get that 4 lbs off. I think it means more exercise and I exercise all that I have time for

So where are the rest of the sleevers who have made it to goal? Are you finding it easy to stay there? I am excited that at the end of the month I will be 2 years post op. Some of the studies show a re gain by two years. I have 4 lb regain that I have been working on , but that's not so bad. I have read studies that say a 20 lb regain is normal but I don't accept that!
  15. Nice to see you posting again Suzannesh! Maybe I'll run into you again in costco since that seems to be the only place I go when I come to Eugene. I may just be going back to Mexicali pretty soon for some face work. I can't wait .I loved it there.

    TV Show: "ADDICTED TO FOOD"

That is really a good show. I think they repeat them so if anyone has missed it and gets that channel, look for it. The first 2 have been rather amazing.

    Take vitamins all at once?

If you are on a PPI, you should not take that within 2 hours of taking calcium.

    Hair Loss

my hair is still growing in. I have different lengths of hair everywhere. It took a long time to stop falling out, in spite of taking Biotin months before surgery and using nixoin shampoo, and getting 100 grams of Protein since 3 days post op once I was home from the hospital.
  19. I would say that anyone who is still throwing up 2 or 3 months post op is A) taking too big of bites Not chewing well enough to mush C) Not waiting in between bites. Let it sit for a minute before you decide you need another bite. I used to make a game of it to see how tiny of a bite I could take and just exactly how long I could chew it. I did throw up the other day and I haven't for at least a year. It was because I ate too much. It takes awhile for my brain to catch up and 20 min later, I am more full than I was at the table. It would have stayed down, but it would have been very uncomfortable waiting it out.
  20. my fitness pal is great. The have so much stuff in their database, it makes it really easy to use.
  21. Try to leave the room while they are eating. go and look at before and after pictures to keep you motivated.

    Questions for sleevers further out

I was pretty lucky that I don't have very much skin. I have some on my arms and no, it's not snapping back.
  23. All I know is I wish that it wasn't so easy for me to gain. At the end of the month it will be 2 years since I was sleeved. I have had no trouble with continuing to lose after getting to goal.
  24. Everything they brought to me in the hospital had a straw in it. I am sure Dr. Aceves must know they bring his patients straws in the hospital. I always ask for a straw when I am out and I use one at home. I know I drink more when I have a straw. Just sip as you feel necessary. You'll know when you take too big of a drink.

    This is getting expensive

Congratulations! You deserve it! I wish bikes didn't hurt my back. It looks like fun!
