egg flower soup is good because it has Protein in it. Another good way to get some protein in your soup is to blend up cottage cheese in tomato soup. If it's too thick , thin it down with milk.

You need to have labs drawn periodically. Any regular doctor can do that. Have your b12 checked, your Iron, Calcium and D3. You can have an upper GI if you want to at some point. I am 2 years post op and I just had one done when I went back to Mexicali for my face lift. It was $30 there and it would have been several hundred here. Dr. Campos said my sleeve looked great and I hold around 3-4 oz oz of food. -

Wheetsin I so remember you from LBT! Believe me, you're going to love the sleeve. There is no comparison between the band and sleeve. It's like night and day. I hope your insurance approves you!

I think you must have a lot of swelling left. It would not hurt to check in with your surgeon if you can, and ask him because I've never heard of it happening without being full of liquid ( in your case). It happened to me a lot while I was learning to eat solids. -

We call this the foamies or sliming. It usually happens after you eat or drink, if you drink or eat too much, or too fast. Is this happening when you aren't even drinking or eating? -
Avoid those protein shots. It's not a good source of protein at all.

If you go to the food section you can find places to order samples . Then you can try a few kinds without having to buy a whole bunch.

Look for the recipe in the food section for the ricotta bake. It's yummy. Greek yogurt is great too.It has much more protein than any other kind of yogurt. If you buy plain, you can mix in sf pudding or sf syrup, like they put in coffee drinks. I like Choboni's raspberry Greek yogurt. It's delicious. -
Band to Sleeve - What can I expect? Differences?

I had a very easy recovery from both surgeries. I was walking around outside of the hospital cause I was so bored in my room when I was sleeved. Living with the sleeve compared to the band is like night and day. I eat anything I want, whenever I want. I don't worry about food getting stuck or "not working" like how you have to give up certain foods with a band. The best part is I am never hungry. -

Yes I was under general anesthesia but I also had a spinal. The anesthesiologist explained that I would be in a lot less pain when I woke up because of the spinal. I have to say, I had no pain at all other than left shoulder pain. I don't know what they were sticking in my iv. The first night I had pain in my shoulder from the gas they fill you up with. -
What type of PPI do you take for heartburn?

I take the generic for Protonix. I tried to go off of it but had too much heartburn . Now I take it every other day. That works great for me. -

Dr Aceves says it happens most often with in the first few days, but he said it can happen with in the first couple of months. -

Happy Birthday! I didn't know we are the same age. We will be until I turn 59 in October. I have a new bf and life is good. I've dated a lot of interesting guys and I would have never met any of them if I hadn't lost all the weight. I have never been as happy as I have been since I got sleeved.
