    Feeling Lethargic

Are you able to get your Protein in? I think the people that can't tolerate the Protein drinks have a harder time with fatigue. Also drinking poweraide or gatoraide seems to help with nausea but it's good to get nausea medication which really does help.
  2. You can find the the 5 day pouch diet by just putting it into google but personally I think eating dense Protein and really limiting carbs will do the same thing. I notice on some days I get full really fast and some days I feel like I can eat more. Do not eat to the point of being uncomfortable anymore!

    im seriously regretting this

Yes, please keep us informed on your progress. You'll be feeling better soon. Get some poweraide or gatoraide. You can get sugar free but if you aren't drinking much, the extra calories aren't going to make that much difference. K20 Protein Water is good too if you can't tolerate Protein drinks yet.

    X & Converted Banders

Good to see you Janet! I hope you never need a revision but if you ever do, it's good that you know right where to come for support! Congrats to your DIL. The sleeve is like a miracle. She will love it.

    Uti

You could break them in half. I've had to take cipro too cause I get UTIs all the time. it sucks.
  6. Dr Aceves does 3 leak tests. The first one is done during surgery and you don' t even know it's being done. The second one is done in your room. You drink some apple juice with blue dye in it and then they watch your drain for the next couple of hours to see what color all the fluids being drained out of you are. The 3rd one is the nasty one. You drink some nasty tasting stuff and watch it go down on the screen. I spit in the garbage can as fast as I could afterwards and then ran back to my room and brushed my teeth.

    Edamame

Yes this is something I see on a lot of wls boards as things people like and eat. I have some frozen in and I am not really sure what to do with it. I put it in my salad at salad bars and I really like it!

    very sick!

None of this sounds normal to me. At 4 month post op life should be becoming a breeze, with eating small meals. You should not be having any of these problems. Go and see your doctor and don't let him poo poo you. Tell him that you should be feeling better by now and you're not. Ask him how many of his other patients are sick all the time.

    Solids.. help

don't forget eggs or shrimp. Both are low in fat and carbs.

    Power Shots of Protein

Collagen Protein is not a good form of protein . You should not depend on it for your protein needs. You should be drinking whey protein with no collagen. Did you know that collagen is made from boiled cow hides?

    Scar treatments

Scar guard is what my plastic surgeon recommended and it's working wonders. There is a big noticeable difference.

I want your opinion on Mexico doctors

I would not even consider anyone other than Dr. Aceves since having 85% of your stomach removed is a serious surgery. He is the best.
  13. I was banded 12-06. I did great with the band. Weight loss was rather slow, but eventually, I got to where I was happy with my weight. Then everything changed. I started throwing up in my sleep. I had another banded person tell me to just keep a bucket next to the bed and sleep sitting up. I thought that was crazy! I asked my dr. for a test and it showed I was too tight, even though I hadn't had a fill for a year. I don't know why the band tightened up when it's supposed to losen after you lose the fat around your stomach. I had half my fill removed and gained 15 lbs rather quickly. I decided to revise to a sleeve so that I never had to worry about fills. I had my revision with basically no pain and went back to work in less than a week. I had surgery on Wed. and went back the following tues. I could have easily gone back on Mon. but decided to take that day off just for the heck of it to get some stuff done that I needed to do that had to be done during working hours. That's all there was to it. I followed the post op diet and it's a few days over a month since I had surgery. I am never hungry and I never even think about food. It's GREAT!

    Cottage Cheese pouch test

I could never do that because I hate cottage cheese. There are a lot of people on OH who have done it and reported back. I had an Upper GI when I went to Mexicali in May and Dr. Campos told me my sleeve holds 4 oz. That seems about right, although when I order a 6 oz steak, I can only eat half.
  15. I've never regretting this surgery for one single second. I feel like I eat very normally now . 4th of July I went to a BBQ and I had half of a pretty thick cheese burger and some delicious salad. Try to think ahead when you'll be wearing cute clothes that thin people wear and enjoying food, just not ginormous portions.

What I learned at my Nut Class

I love the calcium citrate chocolate chews. I have then on auto ship. They make it really easy to get calcium.

What I learned at my Nut Class

I don't know why some doctors say no straws. Everything they brought me in the hospital came with a straw. I can't drink without a straw.
  18. You were on broth for a preop diet? I had to have Clear Liquids only for 10 days. Maybe in another week you can call your doctor and see if he will let you progress to other liquids.

Any horse people on this site?

I used to have horses but my bf has 6 horses. One is an Arabian stallion and he is gorgeous. My bf lives on 700 acres and the horses are not broken. He's hoping to get at least couple of them trained this summer.

Oh, so THAT's what dumping feels like

I got it the worse from cheese cake at the cheese cake factory. I had to lay down in the mall on a couch I found for an hour. The room was literally spinning. I've had it's lot of times and it's always if it's something with both fat and sugar.

    Why me?

I am so glad you went to the hospital . Getting hydrated should make a huge difference. I hope you are on the road to recovery and will soon be very happy that you had this surgery.

    Wrinkles

I still had some swelling at abouit 2 weeks but the bruising was gone. My surgeon used ultra sound every day and it really took the bruising away. Surgery was 6 weeks ago, and I think the swelling is completely gone now. I still have numbness and I don't know how long it's going to last. I haven't posted pictures. I need to get my daughter to take some but I am in the middle of moving. I bought a new house and I have been in this house over 20 years. I have so much work to do to get my house empties out and get it ready to put on the market. I've always hated having my picture taken so I really feel weird about posting pictures. I'll try to remember to do it soon though.

    New Addiction?

I used to be a Dr. Pepper addict too. Luckily I gave that up a long time ago because I didn't like diet dr. pepper at all. I still like a sip of it now and then but that's all I can take.
  24. you know you guys could pick a time and take into consideration any time changes, and you could meet and talk live in the chat room. It's a great place to get questions answered and get support. There's usually a few of us in there in the early evening, but you could put up a post in the daytime and ask if anyone wants to chat, or private message each other and set up a time to meet in there.
  25. What is PBC? I do have a liver disease but I've never heard of that.
