No, I ate it when I was on full liquids. I melted cottage cheese in with it so that it had more Protein. I hear of a lot of people eating tomato Soup on the post op diet so it must be fine. My local surgeon sells bariatric food and he has packets of tomato soup with some sort of Protein powder in it.

how long after surgery....
Oregondaisy replied to meggspeggs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had nausea for a couple months after surgery. It was weird. It kind of came and went, off and on. Some days I would wake up with it several days a week. Then it would be gone but yet come back a couple of weeks later. It eventually went away for good. -

1st trip to Costco ... what should i get?
Oregondaisy replied to Sunny702's topic in Food and Nutrition
I like to get the adult gummy Vitamins. No need to get childrens when they have the adult version. If you have a family, a pork tenderloin with the marinade in the package are easy to cook and delicious. I cut it in half and freeze half and I still have to have company for dinner to share the half with. I love all the cheeses as mentioned above. I also have been able to get flats of Chiboni yogurt there much cheaper than anywhere else. I like the turkey Jerky too.. I always pick up premeire Protein drinks. I would get more stuff if I lived closer. It's a 2 hour drive for me to go to costco. I should just bring a cooler. -
Who Was Your Gastric Sleeve Surgeon
Oregondaisy replied to boredswfl's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Dr. Aceves did my surgery and i would give him all the stars in the world. I was not at all afraid to go to Mexico by myself because of their wonderful staff and reputation. It's was easy to find many people who were willing to email their experiences and they are always glowing with praise about Dr. Aceves and their experience in Mexicali. Dr. Aceves is one of the best bariatric surgeons in the world. -
So, any "post partum" for those who've reached goal?
Oregondaisy replied to Rootman's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Maintaining is the where the real work starts. I can eat more than could before. Now, if a social event comes up where there will be good food and goodies, it's harder to resist. I am constantly weighing myself and having to cut back for a few days when I gain back a few lbs. It's like a roller coaster. Some people have an easy time maintaining at first, but life sets in with fattening foods all around, and it's just plain HARD. -

Congratulations on your new man! I too hope to have as much fun. Not sure I am that young, wish I had done it a few years ago now (but I chickened out then, this time I am very sure) But I guess you are never too old to fall in love. hey you are more than 20 years younger than me. you have plenty of time to find a wonderful man. Losing weight opens up a whole new world, so be picky! -
Everyone I know who had their arms done are really unhappy with the scars. The plastic surgeon who did an absolutely wonderful job on my face lift, says he won't do arms because the scars that are left are unavoidable and ugly. I've never actually looked on the plastic surgery forum at obesityhelp for someone who had their arms done to see if they are happy with the results.

I wonder which Protein drink brand has the most hydrolyzed protein? Both of the ones I use the most say protein Isolate. Does anyone see the hydrolyzed protein on any of their containers? -

I'm with a wonderful man now. He is the one I posted about when we were only together 6 weeks and it's been 4 months now. I am extremely happy. I've had a lot of fun dating. You're lucky that you're doing this so young. Believe me, it's going to change your life. -
ISOPURE aka ISOPUKE
Oregondaisy replied to Sunny702's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
People mix it with all sorts of stuff to change the taste. As long as you are able to drink the whole bottle, it doesn't matter what you put in it. You may want to get some samples of the Sytrex nectar. People do seem to like it much better. You can get a whole sample selection online. If you go to the food section, there is a thread on where to get samples of a lot of different kinds of Protein samples. -
Easy to stretch sleeve?
Oregondaisy replied to cam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 2 years 4 months post op and I know I have stretched my sleeve all that it's going to stretch. I can't possibly eat more than I could at one year out. Getting too full just plain hurts. That does not mean you can't graze and eat Snacks that cause weight gain. -
Everybody has the same fears. You will be so happy when you are small and trim. Just have the surgery and trust the process. It will all turn out fabulous and you will be so glad you did this.

Does your sleeve get tighter or looser depending on what you eat?
Oregondaisy replied to 300PoundsDown's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do have days where I can hardly eat much at all and other days I feel like I can eat too much. It's weird. I have no idea what causes that. Dr. Campos ( Dr Achieves assistant) told me my sleeve has stretched all that it's going to when he did my upper GI in May . I know it's way different when I eat solid Protein than if I eat something mushy like yogurt. -
:cake: Happy Birthday Suzanne! I wasn't online much yesterday so I wish I was not late with my birthday wishes. I hope your birthday was wonderful!

Welcome to all our newcomers to the great 50's thread. We may have done this surgery later in life than others, but I love that old saying "today is the first day of the rest of your life" I am sure my 60's are going to be ALOT happier now that I can do so many more things than I could when I was fat. I know I feel much younger, carrying so much less around!

I really could not handle the way my neck looked. My face was not nearly bad as my neck, but the only way I could get my neck fixed was a face lift. I really hope this numbness goes away though!

List of foods that you can eat when fully healed
Oregondaisy replied to posiemac's topic in Food and Nutrition
I don't count anything anymore. I still eat Protein first. I eat 3 meal a day and an evening snack. I could eat every 2-3 hours but I am not hungry. -
thought it would be alot worse. can you eat frozen yogrut
Oregondaisy replied to ladiebashful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get a lot of gas and diarrhea with the frozen yogurt that you buy in those ice cream stores or yogurt stands. I don't know why because I eat yogurt but it's always non fat and no added sugar. Experiment and see if it bothers you. Just know that if you're eating the kind with sugar or higher fats, it will slow down you weight loss. -
getting off of the PPIs
Oregondaisy replied to feedyoureye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried to go off mine. I was off of it for 6 months. I finally went back to taking it every other day. This works well for me. I was worried about the calcium thing too but the GERD was horrible and did not go away after 6 months so I am good with taking it every other day. -

One Day Post Op Pain drinking
Oregondaisy replied to diddled's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Put a heating pad on your shoulder. Walk as much as possible. It takes several days, if you're asking how long to feel half way normal. My left shoulder pain was gone before that though. It was easier for me to sip room temp or warm liquids rather than cold. I wasn't allowed Protein drinks for 10 days, I was on clear liquids the first 10 days. Just take a sip not a gulp every few min. Most people do crush all their pills. Buy a pill crusher. -
Low carb versus low calorie
Oregondaisy replied to Jensharley's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
If you're eating Protein first, there really isn't a lot of room for carbs. The carbs I eat are from Greek Yogurt, veggies, some fruit. Sometimes I eat cheese and have crackers too, but they are high Fiber mulitgrain. So, I don't really count my carbs but I don't eat bread, potatoes, rice, etc and this is the way I have been eating since I got sleeved. I have been maintaining at goal for a year and a half. -
I don't want to lose any nipple sensation at all. That's too bad too cause I could really use some boobs. I can go around braless now all the time and nobody can even tell. I am flat chested.

The miralax uses the cap as a measure . I use half every day. I put it in crystal lite. I did not find benefiber to be very helpful.
