I've never heard of it. I read a lot of WLS boards and I have never heard anyone even mention it before.

Where does everyone purchase their vitamins?
Oregondaisy replied to Missnurse's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Everything is cheaper at vitacost. They have everything you can think of. The only thing I don't get there are my calcium citrate choc chews which come from Bariatric Advantage on auto ship. I still take calcium citrate capsules which I get from vitacost. -
Question for those VSG Veterans Post Op 1 year +

Sounds like all of us past one year out can eat about exactly the same! -
ongoing weight loss after 24 months?
Oregondaisy replied to nerval's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Research this surgery before you make a decision. That is a really big decision and you need to know what your life will be like after this surgery. Are you able to exercise? Are you actually eating the 160 carbs that this nut recommended? Try stepping up the exercise and dropping the carbs to the recommended 50 grams per day and I am sure you will see a difference. -
Concerned about my dad
Oregondaisy replied to Gayle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Getting sleeved is the best thing for him. When he loses weight, his high blood pressure will probably be gone. Most people are able to get off all their various medications a short time after surgery. -
Some of your comments are scaring me!
Oregondaisy replied to DebiC's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've kept over 100 lbs off for about 4 years now. I lost it all with the band but I would have gained it all back because the band causes so many problems. Since I had my revsion surgery 2 1/2 years ago, life has pretty much been a breeze. After the post op diet, I starting eating whatever I wanted in small portions and now it's 2 1/2 years later, and I haven't gained it back. Yes, I love my sleeve! -
Dealing with bansters when you change.
Oregondaisy replied to HunnyBunny's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wish they would just take that band off the market. It's sad that people are still getting it and are all excited when the majority will end up having problems down the road. Too many people are still having 2 surgeries because they get the band and get revised to a sleeve. -
Question for those VSG Veterans Post Op 1 year +
Oregondaisy replied to Liliana Arleen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In terms people go by, I can eat most of half of a sandwich, even though I rarely eat that because I don't eat bread. I can eat one piece of pizza and sometimes I try to eat the toppings off another, but then I am way too full, so I try not to do that. I can eat one taco. I can eat half of a small chicken breast, with about 1/4 c veggies. -
The Gastric Sleeve Chat Room Is Always Open!
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
With the new format, the chat button is now on the left, almost in the middle, so the picture is wrong. -

There are more people in the chat room here in the evenings. If you want to chat with another sleever, put up a post somewhere. I usually put it in the general sleeve discussion, and say, "does anyone want to talk?" You can leave the chat window open and open another window. You will hear the door bell ring when someone else opens the chat window. I used to chat a lot in the band chat room, when I was banded. I told everyone of all the problems I was having. I still get people who are banded and will come into the sleeve chat room and say something about mutilating my stomach. I say it's better than choking in my sleep and waking up puking in my sleep. -
Question for those VSG Veterans Post Op 1 year +
Oregondaisy replied to Liliana Arleen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I can eat quite a bit more now than I could at 6 months. I am at 2 1/2 years post op now. I can eat more now than I could at one year. I don't think I can eat all that much though. I would say if it's solid meat like steak, I can eat 3 oz or a little less. At 6 months, it was more like counting the bites, not counting the ounces if that makes sense. -
Too Much Gas!!!!!
Oregondaisy replied to smallgirlsxthree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did become lactose intolerant for awhile after surgery. I could eat yogurt but milk gave me horrible gas. It's better now. For anyone on the liquid or post op diet, you will have diarrhea until you move to more solid food. liquid in, liquids out. -
I didn't see on that site where you could do that. I saw prices that were higher than the $12 a box I have been paying.

Diagnosed with Barret's Esophagus due to acid (kinda scared)

I should try the apple vinegar and honey. I've read that will reduce acid. -
Diagnosed with Barret's Esophagus due to acid (kinda scared)
Oregondaisy replied to Lonna's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Most surgeons prescribe an acid blocker after surgery and perhaps that's a good thing. I have been trying to get off mine but I'd rather take it than get Barrett's. I have been taking it every other day and that seems to work. Are you taking it every day now? -
One year through the trials of hell
Oregondaisy replied to DougNichols's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations! It's great that you have such a wonderful foundation that will carry you on when you get into maintenance. For me, I have to watch every bite I put in my mouth. It's so easy to eat a bite of this and a taste of that. I seem to gain easier now at 2 1/2 years. It's easy to put a few lbs on in one day if I indulge at some social gathering. It's me and the gym too, sweating to take it back off. I hope you stick around the board cause I am going to need your motivating spirit! -

I still get gas. I get more gas if I have something with sugar in it for some reason. Are you on Protein shakes? -
Dr. Kelly vs. Dr. Aceves
Oregondaisy replied to TheSkinnyCow73's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know. I would love to see the article or find out when it will be out. I am sure it if it is true, somebody will post about it when it comes out or if we find out when it will be out. Now that you mention it, I am going to email their office and get some information. I know they would not lie about it. -
I am addicted to those things and sometimes wonder if I should give up the 200 calories. I usually just eat half at a time. I get mine from vitacost.com They are 12.00 a box. I don't have a GNC here. Their shipping is free if you order over $49.00 . that's easy for me to do cause I get everything there. They have Vit D 3 with 10,000 mg and I get my Calcium citrate capsules there too. I also get my gaspari chocolate Peanut Butter Protein drinks there. They have anything you could possibly think of, including Biotin shampoo.

Dr. Aceves Post Op Diet Question
Oregondaisy replied to AnneAC's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You can have egg flower soup or any other soup that is well blended with no chunks. Full liquids is anything you can get through a straw with no chunks. -

Oregondaisy replied to emmas mom's topic in Food and Nutrition
As long as the spinach is very well cooked there is not a problem. -
Dr. Kelly vs. Dr. Aceves
Oregondaisy replied to TheSkinnyCow73's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I heard that Time magazine is doing an article on the top bariatric surgeons in the world. Dr. Aceves is the only Mexican surgeon or surgeon doing surgery in Mexico mentioned in that article. That speaks volumes for him.
