Hi everybody,
I am a junior in college and I decided two weeks ago that I NEED to get the lap-band. I was always overweight since I came out the womb. Since I was always overweight/obese, I didn't want to lose weight because that was all I knew, is being overweight. My doctor suggested surgery a couple of years ago, and I was against it because I thought that I could still lose weight on my own, but deep down inside I knew I needed a little help. I told myself that if breathing became a problem or if joint pain started to occur, then I would think of surgery. And since I am on the path to surgery, you can already guess that I now have breathing problems and joint pain. I am starting my lap-band weight loss journey this week, and hopefully get approved for the icanchange tufts health plan program within a week or two, so I can get the ball rolling. I have been going through this site and I think that it will be very helpful for me to connect with other people who are sharing similar struggles with me. I feel like I am writing a book so I will stop now,and I hope to hear from all of you soon.
Best Wishes,RuthiieBabiie
