I went home off bp meds from the hospital. I was on 5 bp meds prior. I am not sure why all of the sudden i did not need them, it was not like I lost all the weight over night. I think there is more to HBP than weight,

Thank you for the post. I was sleeved in the states but I remember reading with great interest the story of Mexico sleevers and I applaud you for doing it!

Instead of focusing on what has not happened, take not of what has!!! When have you ever lost 16 pounds in 2 weeks? This is a journey, not a marathon. Look at my ticker, I and many others are proof the sleeve will work for you! Your body is in shock and desperatly trying to hold on to what is "normal" for it. You will loose inches when you are not losing on the scale and you will loose on the scale when you are not loosing inches!

3 days post op I accidently gulped water and ran to the bathroom awaiting certian doom. NOTHING HAPPENED! Now with that said, you will find during meals there will be no room for more than 1 oz of lquids. Not to worry, you will be hungry in a new way that makes you eat before you drink. an hour later, you can drink, even gulp. Maybe not at 2 months, but at 4 monhs yes. Don't sweat it all, your body will guide you!

I had all kinds of blurry vision, turned out my eyes improved by a whole number in each eye. Doc attributes it to stable blood sugars. Wait it out if you can so you don't spend too much in glasses:)

It is normal for you to feel a hardness under your incision sites. As long as they are not bright red, hot or oozing it is part of the normal healing process. As for thost dang stalls,,, UGHHH,, mine have been as short as 2 weeks and as long as 6 weeks. Keep your measurments, it will get you past the scale head game as you lose inches even when stalled!

Did I ever mention how much I LOVE my bike???????? I had not rode a bike in over 20 years. I decided Early this spring at about 175 to go rent one and try it out, just to see if I was capable. I HAVE NEVER FELT SO FREE as I do when I am on a bike! I crave it now! I pass the bike trails on the way home from work and it motivates me to get in the house, change and be off on my bike! 2 months after I started riding I joined the Tour De Cure for Diabetes, before that tour the farthest I had gone was 17 miles, being around all those slim professional riders inspired and I did 35 miles that day! Let me warn you, once you are hooked it can get expensive The odometer computer, the helmet the jerseys, the riding pants, the lock, the rack for your bike so you can ride to the store, the pannier bag to bring home your groceries on your rack, and last but not least now the shoes with hooks, they really do make a difference tackling the hails,, you are pushing and pulling with the shoes on:) Don't say I did not warn you how much fun you would have:)

Your bodies have entered starvation mode. Your body is like "What the heck?" It figures it is under attack and holding on to everything for dear life! No worries,, You will be dropping weight after surgery! Congrats on sticking to your guns and your soon to be sleeve!

I am faithful to my vitamins and Protein to this day. I did not take Biotin, still don't. I use Noxium because I got a heck of deal on it, 10 bucks for a 40 dollar bottle! Do I believe it has made a difference? No not really, but at that price it can hurt. My hair loss has been very noticeable in the front. I used to have bangs just above my eyebrows and now I am lucky the center of my bangs comes midway down and the hair on the sides is only about 1 inch right now. SO YES OTHER NOTICED. That is why I got the replacement clip in bangs. However, I would never want to stay overweight to keep my hair. My hair will grow back, my weight wont and I feel so much better!

My significant loss began at 7 months. I lost it mainly in forehead and I have started wearing a hair piece. I am using Noxium and praying for the time I can chuck my fake bangs! I still like being thinner better than my hair:) And this too shall pass.

I went from a 9 wide to a 7.5 regular!

Complications are rare. Don't read the horror stories on the internet as a lot of them are not factual or meant to discredit a doctor. Possitve attitude is everything! The reality is you have a higher chance of a "complication" going out and driving your car today than your will have from surgery.

My Nut told me that many sleevers can not tolerate plain water post op. No reason why given. I could not stand plain water before, so I usually drink diet rasberry snapple or lipton diet white rasberry tea most of the time.

I sip while eating, never more than an ounce or 2. Never has anything "washed" through the sleeve for me. I am guessing it was not the peel on cucumber so much as the size.

Wow, I was not allowed salad until week 6. I had full liquids for 2 weeks, then mushies for 2 more works. Even at 5 and 6 weeks my best friend was yogurt. I just can not imgane eating at 3 weeks anything that was not super soft. At 5 weeks Carl budding meat gave me a stuck episode!!

I took them steady for 2 months and now as needed only. I am not sure but I was told they like you to take them during the healing phase because it helps the stomach lining heal. I never have acid reflux per se, but every so often I find something that does not agree with me and I get kind of a raw feeling in esophagus, usually gone within a hour of taking the nexium.

I googled it and it all referes back to a physical therapist. Call your insurance and ask for a supervisor.

Wow, I am so sorry you had this happen to you! Did you develope a leak or have a actual tear? If it was a tear was it from lifting? Here is to a speedy recovery. I am sure Tiffikins will be along with some great words of wisdom and support as she had a heck of leak post op.

My EKG showed low voltage. I was referred 2 days before my surgery to get clearance. Searched the internet over and over about what it meant. Boiled down to an untrained person placing the leads! Congrats on your date!

I started one, did a pre op, a few days post and again about 8 weeks, then I just to damn busy to sit long enough to do them! I really owe my folks one. When I get it posted I will post my link here!

Yeah he is great man, he gave me life again! However I am fed up with his snotty, intolerant, non competent staff! I really despise his Medical assistant that all pt question go to and she always had attitude like you must be stupid! Not one time have I received a call back from them about my labs! I finally called and had them faxed to my GP and he is now following me and for a damn site less I might add. The Surgeon charged 2000, Yes TWO GRAND one set of labs. My GP just ran the EXACT same labs for 340! Can you say rip off????? Oh and for the 1700 savings I also received a phone call in 3 days telling me they were stellar. Now that is service! When the Surgeons office called to confirm my appointment I told them I would not be back and they replied with well agreed to 5 years follow up care, not rude incompetent staff! She said I would still be charged for the visit and I replied to her, Oh, did I mention my attorney wants to talk you? Her is her number. Never got a bill nor a follow up call to see why I was so mad.

I have heard of people wearing ankle wieghts and stuffing their bras and underwear with heavy bean bags.

MEN! My husband asked me 4 days out if I wanted a candy bar or MC D choc shake! I glared at him ( he is lucky to be alive you know) and he says What, one here of there cant hurt! I was like um hello, had my stomach cut out 4 days ago?????? You are over tired, adjusting to big changes and hormones go nuts right after surgery, it is totally normal to have crying jags! The good news is in a month you will be super high on your weight loss and laugh about this!
