Hard area under skin around scab
myrori replied to buchannon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't have a lump now, and I cant remember earlier. Is the lump hot or protruding? -
I am not looking forward to anymore surgery, but I do think when I have my tummy tuck, I will have to get the girls replaced:)

Hard area under skin around scab
myrori replied to buchannon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yep, that one on me is was sorest the longest and did not lay nice and flat like the rest. The Nurse at my post op visit explained that that particular incision has a very deep stitch in it and will take a bit longer too look and feel like the rest. Plus I think they moved that area around a lot more and pulled the tissues. -
It still hasn't sunk in yet.

What an AWESOME accomplishment! I know I still can't believe my weightloss. I debated buying some pajamas yesterday to the point I did not buy them because I just did not believe I would fit in to an xl even though I just bought that size in two sweatshirts last week. My mind still says "You wont fit into that". So the pJ's are still on the shelf at the store. I have to ease into to believing too! -
Just because you have a symptom, doesn't mean it's the sleeve

I guess constipation is a common problem. I have been taking a softener for 3 days now and no luck -
Congrats! I too had a hard time peeing afterward, I think it from the meds they give you to "dry" things up. Sorry you were so nauseous, did the meds for it ever kick in?

Paul Wall (rapper) got the sleeve! . . .

Good coverage, but I am confused, what is slow about losing a hundred pounds in 6 months? -
Well you could cook a small turkey breast and potatoes and then you can just eat a small portion of it. I find it takes me a long time to eat just my little portion so spending the time with him having dinner may be a nice way to celebrate.

WoW! I was not even conscious for hours after my surgery, and did not get out of bed till the next day. You are doing amazing

Same here, I just don't do it. I am hoping for Cmas I will get either a wii fit or zumba. I don't like going out to work out places, I just feel extremely uncomfortable there. My current exercise since surgery has been going to the mall and walking. I don't do it everyday but I figure it is more than I had done in the past.

SO FRUSTERATED Im guna be stuck like this forever
myrori replied to lolli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have found that weighing at night is always a couple pounds higher on the scale as all the fluid we take in during the day has not left the body. There is something about sleeping that resets the body. I can go to bed weighing 2.5 pounds higher and then in the morning it is gone! Just remember, this is a tool, not an overnight make over. -
Had surgery on 12-16-2010

Stay strong! I find keeping my a mental picture of my new lower number on the scale keeps me strong when I think about those holiday treats, and soon you will be eating food and you will be surprised how full you get even from just teaspoons of something and their food wont even be a temptation! What a great present you have given yourself for the new year! -
Decision about worrying/complaining

I have to say I never had a OMG what have I done moment. I had some strange food dreams the first night after surgery, but I think the drugs had a lot to do with that one! I had only a few bits of nausea afterwords that meds took care of in the hospital and the pain was pretty much gone and was more of a soreness by day 7. I think it has been pretty smooth since then and here a week 4 I am still happy to have it done! I am just starting to try this and that on the permitted list and thrilled with how little it takes to fill me up. There is no more fighting with myself about over eating or wanting this or that. I have no reflux, no foamies and no nausea. For the first time in my life I HAVE CONTROL OVER WHAT GOES IN MY MOUTH AND HUNGER IS NOT AN ISSUE! To say I am happy with my sleeve is understatement! It is the best Christmas present I have ever given myself! -
What does a typical day on liquids/puree look like
myrori replied to IB150's topic in Food and Nutrition
I thought I had posted here, but here is a great website for getting ideas of what you can have and what typical day is like: Egg face -
I am only about 4 weeks post op, however hair loss, thinning and changing is well know problem after significant weight loss. The body is confused and trying to figure out what is going on. Since hair is not needed to live, ( well in the body's mind) it puts hair on the back burner while it concentrates it's energy on surviving. The good news is once things level out, your hair will be back and normal.

I'm in the 60's whoo hoo!!!
myrori replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My one week stall finally gave way too! -
Ok hold it, I am just about 4 weeks out and this thing about never enjoying a meal again???? Bull! Crap!!!! I went to a holiday party and I enjoyed what I ate! Mind you it was in VERY small portions, but IT WAS GOOD! I had a tsp of refried Beans with guacamole , a piece of cheese of the lasagna, a piece of chicken of a chicken breast and 2 of the most heavenly scalloped potato slices ever!!!! No mind you it took me about a half hour to eat that POST VSG smorgasbord but it was the best! I enjoyed it and and was so full that I was not the least bit tempted by one single holiday goodie laying around! Ps when I say piece of, I mean like not even a tsp of it.

May I recommend Tazzo herbal tea. Sweet Orange is heavenly! Not real sweet, just enough so and it is kinda like warm cider minus the calories! -
I have no idea how to be skinny either, but I can't wait to find out! My current dilemma,,, how to find out what size bra to buy! I have worn the same size for over 20 years and now it is TOO big!

Dr notes only state that you have been under their care from to and your work release date, they do not say why or what the care was for.

We have FMLA act if we choose to use it and it protects us foe 12 weeks of unpaid leave that requires us to use paid sick and vacation time first. I would suggest in this economy anyone taking time in act it, you can use one week or 12. It protects you all around. My surgeon wrote a letter stating my procedure was medically necessary without saying what it was.

So I went to dinner with my son tonight
myrori posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ordered a half sandwich of tuna and Soup. I was only able to eat like 6 very tiny bites of the tuna ( bread and lettuce removed) and about a 1/4th of the cup of the soup. Between this and what they said at my follow up class today I am wondering is this is it??? Will I ever get more in? I am 3 weeks out. Today they talked about buyers remorse in class, I have never experienced it, I don't think until tonight. I did not miss the food so much as the experience of enjoying dinner out. I ate super slow and managed to make it look like I was eating the entire time my son was so he did not feel uncomfortable, but still I found the whole thing stressing. I was thinking here I was paying for this food I could not eat and worried about what he would think eating while I played with the food. I have been really lucky in the fact that I have had no nausea, no heartburn and no foamies that I see mentioned here. I guess this was just a good night to eat? -
I had steri strips that drove me mad ! I had them on till 7 days post op. I have a sensitivity to adhesive so I had to use hydrocortizone cream on them! The scrapping I did not experience but you can have sore throat from the iintibation and perhaps your hernia repair has something to do with the feeling? I would check with the doc on the blurred vision, it could be medicines or blood pressure related.

Went I went in I was on 4 blood pressure meds and Metformin for PCOS. When I left the hospital my bp was so low I did not have start my blood pressure meds again till 3 weeks and I am only one, that the pharmacy said I can crush. I am not taking metforim at all because my blood sugar is rarely about 78 on so little food.

myrori replied to myrori's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok I have not figured out the multi quote thing, so I will just clarify a few questions here. I am 3 weeks out. My nut really encouraged me to try tuna, I thought it was a bit soon and I was right. I did not have the bread at all. I just took tiny tiny bits of tuna with the fork and chewed it to oblivion. I have not lost 60 pound in 3 wees, but that would be great:rolleyes: I lost 50 pounds in the months prior to surgery. My son does know I had the surgery, I just did not want him to feel self conscious that I was done 2 minutes in to the meal. I basically have a half a tuna fish sandwich left in fridge, and it will probably go to the feral cats outside. Things I can eat easy are yogurt, baby food, humus on carb control whole wheat tortilla, I eat about a quarter of the tortilla for a meal. eggs, pudding, cheese, soup, cottage cheese, Jello and Protein shakes. I think I will avoid going out to eat as much as possible. It will be easy to avoid it after the holiday, but during this week there are so many people to meet and socialize with.
