You have a very WISE Daughter!
-
I am 5 weeks out and I take Greek Yogurt or a couple pieces of carl budding lunch meat and a cheese stick. I also get those little tuna snack packs and through away the crackers. I have taken a chicken breast that I had out and had to split into 5 meals. I just cut it and put each one in a baggie and took it on different days and reheated in the microwave. I have taken sf pudding, cottage cheese and I get this sugar free Jello parfait at the dollar tree as well as their frozen mozzarella sticks that I microwave. There are 6 frozen ones in a package for a dollar and and I microwave 3 of them per lunch and it that is all I can eat! I am taking soup this week as well as a storage bowl because I can only get in about a 1/2 cup of soup per meal and it is such a waste to not finish the can. Don't forget to take your Water or tea for the day!!!, and your Vitamins. I think the biggest thing to get used to is the head still thinks of how much we packed for a pre sleeve lunch and it feels like we need more than 3 cheese sticks for the day, but really it almost too much! So here goes, I have to be at work at 7 so I take my Preimer Protein shake with also. 7 to 8 am Premier Protein Shake, Vitamin and Calcium 9-10:30 water 11 lunch, vitamin and b12 12-1 water 130 sf pudding, or cottage cheese. or jello, Calcium 2-3 water At home after work I continue with water or tea Hubby doesn't get home till 630 so then he wants to go get something to eat. I go with and order soup and then have about 3 bites of his chicken and a veggie sometimes followed by Iron. I find after all that drinking during the day I really have NO hunger in evening and have to force myself to eat a little protein. If I don't I feel it in the morning and want to EAT.

Another Newbie needs advise
myrori replied to treequeen's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Nothing about getting any WLS is cheating! It is hard work and takes lots of commitment just to get it done. Then you have the very real work of facing your fears and going through with the surgery. After surgery you have to heal and adjust. Cheating at weight loss to me suggests the ability to find an easy fast way to loose weight. After healing we all have to make the right choices in food and exercise Nothing easy there~. -
Juli, I too baked like crazy for Cmas, I enjoy it as part of the holiday. However I had zero desire to eat the cookies. In the past I would have ate them even from the freezer. I was nervous about going back to work because it is a glutton fest there around the holidays and much to my surprise even though the candy and cookies were right there in the room with us I had zero desire to have them! I did treat myself to a cookie last night as a New Year celebration and gift for not having one thing for the entire Holiday season! It was good but, it did not provide the same enjoyment as it did pre surgery. There is definitely something to this surgery curing far more than the fat. Dr Oz had a show on about the brain and bowels and he said they both are very similar in cells and receptors. I hope they figure out what in the receptors of some cause this crazy need to feed! Surely there something in the stomach that sets it off in the first place.

Still in pain after panic attack
myrori replied to bonbon85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't think you are having a panic attack with physical pain. I have had 2 episodes of the stabbing pain and I think it was esophageal spasm. The first one happened after a coughing spell in the hospital and I had to be put back on a pain shot for the night. The second happened just this past week at work and lasted all day, just not as severe as the first one. I did almost go to urgent care for pain relief but I got home and laid down on a heating pad and that helped and it was gone when I woke up. Gal bladder pain usually feels like some one is blowing up a very large balloon under your right rib cage and that you are going to burst! -
Well first I am going to cry, then I am going to take a picture of me and print it out so I can look at it, because I know my brain wont believe it. Then will go buy a FABULOUS outfit and book a flight to Hawaii! Instead of snorkeling I am going to take diving lessons!

No need for Reconstructive Surgeries
myrori replied to dimples509's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I think for skin health I will most definetely get a tummy tuck, if I go under for that AND I have the money i will get the girls fixed at the same time as they are way south and deflated One more time under anestia is enough for me! I have had 4 csections and a gall bladder removal the old way so there is no way I will ever have a bathing suit body, but that has not been the point of my weight loss. I need to get healthy and I can be healthy with flabby skin! -

NSV- crying at GoodWill in the dressing room
myrori posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
So I really did not look in the mirror for the first 5 weeks, I honestly had no idea how much my body had changed. I went back to work and by day two my uniform pants were so large I asked to wear regular clothes the next day as my uniform should be arriving. The boss said it was ok, but it had to be business casual. So I had to head over to Good Will and get something. I grabbed a bunch of size 18 pants and one x shirts (formally I wore 22 tops and 24 pants), some jeans that looked new in different sizes and headed to the dressing room. When I tried on the sweater top and slacks I stood there and cried. i could not believe that was me looking back at me. I continued to try on the clothes and for the fist time in many many years I like what I seen below the neck line. For at least 10 years, when I looked in the mirror I only focused from the neck up. Funny thing was a few hours later in my head I was back to the old self image. I guess it will take a while to get to know the new body I have now and what is to come. -

Weight Loss Frustration
myrori replied to Supersweetums's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My initial weight loss has been slow also. I have lost 21 pounds in 5 weeks and I thought it would be more like 40. When you don't have a much to lose it seems to be that you don't get those big numbers at first. Be patient and it will start coming off. -

Extremely High BP Post op HELP
myrori replied to Brownbear29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on 4 blood pressure meds and my bp went extreemly low after surgery. I came home on no meds and in the 5 weeks since I have had to go back one med. When I asked the surgeon anything BP related he ALWAYS says to go to my PCP for that . So he is being typical. -
can you have sugar free pudding? Something about the texture and richness of the chocolate helped me in those times and those times only lasted about 3 minutes or 3 bites and then I am full!

You look FABULOUS darling! I can't wait till I look in the mirror and look slender like you!

Brand New to VSG Idea -- Suggestions?
myrori replied to MorganCath's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only about 5 weeks out and I really did not mind the liquid diet for two reasons,,, 1. it is hard as heck and time consuming to even drink at first, there just is not room for it! 2. As you heal and can consume more, sugar free choc pudding with protien powder was my best friend! I am just now experimenting with regular food, but let me tell hunger is a thing of the past! My surgeon always uses a drain, yeah it was a pain in the butt, well belly really, but no physical pain with or with it coming out. I had a catheter for day one and since your are drinking so little after surgery having to go to the bathroom was not an issue much. If my hair thins out, small price to pay for all the weight that is gone! I went to the hospital on 4 blood pressure meds and a blood sugar med and came home on none of them! My daily back pain is gone and I have dropped 3 sizes in a month! -
Chilo, the amount you ate, was that self control plus the sleeve or just what your sleeve lets you eat? How far post surgical are you?
-
OMG OMG me TOO!!!!!!!!!! I could scream! 202.1, 201,200.8 AND today 200.1 ! I mean REALLY! Is there a scale god messing with us???? When I firmly see 199 or lower I am going to do a happy dance since I have not weigh under that since high school so many years ago! Maybe we will wake up tomorrow and get a NEW YEARS present of 197 !!!!! I am doing a little more wii fit than usual tonight.

I have to admit I was not completely honest in my evaluation as I work for a police department and we use those tests and I had to take them several times. With that being said, I worked on my issues with food from Jan last year to when I had surgery in November. I started to re train myself on eating. It started just with educating myself on what calories where in what, especially in Restaurant food, Chili's for example, I thought 2 chicken tacos was a good lunch, well somehow the manage to pack nearly 1000 calories into those two tacos! Then I really started looking at the calories and fat grams of everything and put myself on the diabetic diet. Learning to eat right was the best thing I could do before hand, I don't miss or crave the wrong foods now that I can't eat them. If your insurance wants just 12 sessions and there is the smallest chance it will help you with the head hunger then I would go for it. Think of it as an investment in your future for a better self. Beating the head hunger if half the battle!

5 weeks out, first vomitting experience
myrori posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had zero nausea since my surgery and tonight I did not have nausea but tried a new food per nut. She keeps pushing fish, so I tried talapia. I baked it with Parmesan and lemon juice on it. It tasted great going down and then about the 5th bite I had that stuck feeling, I have had the stuck feeling a couple times but a burp or three and walking usually helped. Tonight no, the the pressure built and built and then I knew it had to come up. It was not the painful gut wrenching experience I imagined, it ALL just sort of slipped right up and out and ohhh what a relief! I still feel a little uncomfortable hours later, but the big pressure is gone. Any ideas on what happened? I have already decided tomorrow will be a jello/yogurt day.
