    Afraid.....

I think the reason this surgery makes us so nervous, aside from the obvious reasons, is that we are looking at making a life changing decision. We have come to a cross roads of letting go of food and fat and unveiling the inner person we all have hiding in us. It is a contradiction to the subconscious mind that has protected us so long and justified our eating weight gain. It is that very same subconscious that we hear all of those bargaining thoughts from as we travel down the road of this journey,,,things like Maybe I don't need surgery, I will just diet one more time, or I am not really that fat, ect..................
  2. While it would be my dream to loose that kind of weight in 4 months and in a healthy way it is just not in the books for most of us. So far I have noticed it is usually only men who can, and those starting at a 300 plus weight.
  3. You go girl enjoyable eating days are ahead,, just in moderation!
  4. Hands down,,, Premier Protein shakes, you can get them at costco at a reasonable price or an Amazon or directly from the company.
  5. Ok recognizing right away this in nothing but a nebulizer ( ae machine for vaporizing liquid medicine) I immediately dug out the old nebulizer and filled it with vodka as the idea of relaxed and buzzed minus calories was very appealing! Well the alcohol did indeed vaporize. Buzz???? Not anywhere near what a shot would do. Worries? I could smell the alcohol, much like rubbing alcohol. Made my lungs ache. Long term damage?
  6. I am 4 months out and I tried a bite of bread on a sandwich and it did not feel good in my stomach at all. I could eat nothing after that bite.

    Awesome NSV

    Awesome accomplishments!
  8. I would go to the PCP and get copies of all your paper work, make a spare copy and then personally hand the paper work to the office manager only and tell her how long you have been waiting. I would then ask her if she thinks it is still going to be a problem or should you look for another surgeon.

I am always amazed when i look at them as i pull them up and they fit! A regurlar bath towel fits around me! I am wearing layered shirts! Bought my first ever needed push up bra, I spent my life trying to make my boobs look smaller and now that they are gone I am not so sure I am happy about that.

  18. First I will do a dance of joy! When I hit the hundred pound mark (5 pounds to go) I am going to announce that loss on FB and post a picture of myself. My general friends do not know about this at all, they will be shocked! When I hit 145 I am going to go shopping galore! Book a cruise and spend a week in Key West where I will were shorts for the first time in all the years I have been going there. ( have always worn capris). I will by a tshirt in a size Medium in a womans color for once! Maybe even a tank.top depending on how my arms look.

    Who did you tell??

At first I told no one. Than as I got closer I felt I had to tell folks as I was going to be in hospital on Thanksgiving and my family would want to know for what. I ended up telling the people at work who work in the same room as me since we don't get breaks and have to eat at our consoles, and eating out was a big thing with all of us. They were very supportive and actually used the change in ordering out as a positive for themselves in that one lady saved money and the other lady started to lose some weight as she watched me and what I eat and she incorporated better choices in her diet including a Protein shake for morning break! Of course the word spread pretty fast at work, but absolutely everyone, (but one, a hater) has been very positive and supportive. When we had a department meeting my boss asked what I could have for food since they usually buy donuts and he got me some fruit. The day of the snowstorm from hell our bosses bought us lunch because we had been working for 16 hours and they ordered pizza, but my boss asked me if I wanted something else and he bought a chicken sandwich for me. If anyone is ever negative to me about it I am just going to ignore them because I know I have done an amazing change in my life and this is what works for me!
  20. Well after 13 days at 179 the scale finally budged to 176.3 after going up 4 pound in one day. I think it was suppose to be that time but it did not happen. Hormones suck!

    Question

Honesty is best, I would also look into Family Medical Leave Act and see if that applies in your situation.

    Regrets

I have one HUGE regret. I wish I could have done this 20 years ago!
  23. Yep it goes away, I actually posted the same question back when I was a week out. I still burp a lot and there all kinds of gurgling going on, bu tI guess that is the norm now.

    Nervous!?!?!

What you are experiencing is perfectly normal. You are making a life changing decision here and being nervous about that alone not to mention the surgery would make anyone nervous. Keep busy, make things ready as possible at home for when you get home, have your liquids on hand. You will do great and be losing weight in no time!
  25. The cramping is normal, you are very swollen in your stomach. Sipping warm broth first helps loosen up the stomach and esophagus. Are you on any acid reducing meds? They help the new tummy also. Trust me when I say each day gets better and before you know it you will take a full gulp of something and not even realize till afterward:)
