As of this morning I have lost 101 pounds! I was going to make the 100 pound announcement but the scale unstuck and blew by it! I am so FREAKIN happy I can't tell you! I am going to go shopping! :Banane30:

So hear I am 5 months post up and I am happy to weight less than I have in over 20 years, but frustrated at the same time. 50 pounds since surgery gone, 50 pound pre op that took me about 11 months to lose. My frustrations, despite excersiing like crazy and folllowing every tip on this board I am fighting for each and every pound. It is not coming off at all anymore. I get down 2 pounds and gain 3 in a day. ?????? LOOSE SKIN< it is awful. I went to buy clothes today are realized I will not be wearing anything without sleeves this summer and those sleeves will have to be long enough. I hate my stomach,,all this sagging blob and my thighs look like monstrosities. Please tell me the skin thing balances out, cause I am feeling even less attractive than I did at 271 pounds.

Hair Thinning

I second the Nioxin. I lucked out and got a 45 dollar size bottle for 9.99 at Ulta! -
I am sorry you having a tough time of it with nausea. I can not relate to that or smells, I guess I had and easy time of it. HOWEVER the noise thing, now I can tell you I have had lots of! The good news is, it gets better with time. Doc said it will never totally go away, but the noise and frequency does decrease dramaticly. The only time I ever really notice it at 5 months is if the room is really quite and that is not often for me! I consider it all a trade off for how great I feel and look now!

Way to GO! Show those hills who is boss!!

For me it boiled down to being more scared of the problems my weight was causing than what eating would be like afterwords. Yes you can have complications, but the chances of those are far less than the complications of High blood pressure and diabetes. If you run into complications from surgery, they can be treated, Strokes from HBP and kidney and nerve damage from diabetes can not be treated. Then there is your job, is it worth losing it over food? I am 5 months out and I eat pretty much everything, as long I deem it healthy, as I did not do this to not change my bad ways! NO pain, No loss of weight...................

Does anyone else not take calcium citrate?
myrori replied to groovearmada's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Trust me it is NOT just the calcium and iron that is plugging you up, it is the sudden consumption to protein to carb ratio. It will all balance out but it takes a few months. Miralax is a is my savior on that subject! -
KUDOS TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just thinking at dinner tonight some phrases for success, "celebrate enjoying less" Don't morn what you can't fit in, enjoy what you can! Less is MORE! In SO many ways! Slow down and savor the flavor!

No sugar does not do anything to the sleeve, however most of us try to stay on 30 grams or less of carbs a day post op and a couple tsps of sugar will blow through that . Sugar is huge amounts of calories in small amounts of foods and because it raises or blood sugar levels it stores as fat in the body and really, really slows down weight loss if not stopping it.

You will find lots of healthy food options. Many chicken and fish dishes. You will also find many unhealthy choices With that said you are GOING TO HAWAII! Live it up and at least have a bite of this or that!

I keep forgetting that I can do that. For 20 years I always headed to the woman's section or Lane Bryant or Fashion Bug places. I keep forgetting I can go most any where now! As I had stated before I bought a bike and I am pretty darn serious about it so while at the bike shop I was able to buy a pair of biking pants right off the rack,, just blew my mind! Then tonight I went out to get a new pair of tennis shoes and I have lost a shoe size and gone from a wide with to a B width! Blows my mind! I went to Dick's sporting goods, in the past I was intimidated to even walk into a sporting goods place. I got the Reebock easy toner shoes, and I said what the heck and bought a pair of easytone pants too! What I still cant wrap my head around is being able to walk to a rack in a sporting goods store and buy a pair of anything having fit, not to mention using the clothes to actually work out in!

Any Easter Bunnies Cheating?
myrori replied to PrincessFluffy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For the fist time since Novemeber, Yes I cheated. I had some Jelly Beans, a small rice Krispie treat and some sweet tart candies. NOW I AM DONE! I have a healthy turkey meal planned tomorrow with no carbs. -
Haupia (Ha poo e a ) is a Hawaiian dessert that I tried when I was in Maui. Recently I had been looking up how to make it and decided to try it at home with splenda instead of sugar and as it turns out, it works just fine! It is a pudding type Desserts that sets like a firm Gelatin. 1 16 oz can of Coconut milk 1 16 oz milk 9 packets of splenda 6 tsps of cornstartch Mix milks together in a blender, whip them. Mix Spleda and corn starch together well ( I used my bullet) Pour Milks into a pan on high heat and then mix in the dry ingredients. Stir constantly until mixture thickens and then pour into a baking dish. Cover dish and cool 4 hours in the refrigerator. Cut into one inch squares and serve. Not only is this a good DESSERT, It is a DESSERT that is good for you!
-
I used regular coconut milk. Now mind you this makes an 11x 13 dish of Haupia and a serving size is a one inch square. I figured that out to be about 35 calories a square. Also it is the good kind of fat so a one inch sqaure is not going to do you in.

Weight Loss, fittness effects on Eye sight
myrori posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not sure of the cause, effect factor on this one but I went the eye doc today and my eyes had improved! Not just a little, a lOT. I dropped from 3.50 to 2.50 ! UNREAL I am 47 and my eyes GOT BETTER! I am off all blood pressure meds, off metformin for sugar control and working out LOTS compared to the past. So I am not sure if it is medication, blood sugar or fitness and weigh loss or a little bit of everything. 2 years ago I had a blood vessel collapse in my eye from high blood pressure causing some visual loss, so an improvement like this is big for me. Really gets me to thinking just how our weight and health can effect EVERY part of the body. -
Success at the Buffet Line
myrori replied to 2bslimkim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never asked for the card, I just don't think I need to share my life with strangers for a discount. I choose wisely and spread a meal out over 3 meals or I share a meal, depending whom I am with. -
Do you still enjoy food?
myrori replied to sasicas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do enjoy going out. I have learned to savoir those few bits, to really feel the food, the taste the smell and to be completely satisfied in just a few bites, but making those bites last 30 minutes. Don't give up yet! Wrap your head around the moment, not the food. -
Congrats! Take some time and stare at yourself in those smaller scrubs,, before you know it you will be in a 1x!

Do you still attend support meetings? How far do you go?
myrori replied to Rainydayz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I could not make my doctors group times on Saturdays. Recently a couple of us from Dr. Guske;s office in Schaumburg IL started our own mini meetings and it has been great to share and mentor others! -
Congrats! You are glowing!

I never see it mentioned here, is it something we can have post op? I enjoyed it so with balsamic vinegar, onion and garlic pre op,

You are so blessed to have a partner in this (even if you ar bad together at times). My husband has removed himself from the process and refused to compliment me and just drank a McDonalds shake in front of me.
