    GOOOOOOOOOOOOAL

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Pics????
  2. I LOVE Nachos at movies, don't know why but I can't seem to have one without the other. I order them with cheese and jalapenos on the side. I take a diet snapple with me in my purse. I eat about 1/4th of the nachos and i am DONE! The full que is very much there and I listen to it. When I am done I pass the remainder to my husband. Snacking is not longer the same. It is not just something to do and pacify. Now I enjoy the food for the food, not the desire to eat away the stress ect..... when I am done and am done!
  3. I am at 7 months and I now fight for every ounce gone! I have been so restrictive that I think it hurt me as I found that when I splurged I lost???? Now by splurging I warn you that is NOT anywhere close to a pre op splurge. My spurge last week was a taco bell chicken fresco taco, WAIT ARE YOU READY FOR THIS??? WITH the soft shell! Yes I ate carbs! Then I followed that 2 hours later with some tuna fish, no bread! I have been adding a 4th meal to my day that consists of lean Protein and veggie as I have upped my exercise routine exponentially as of late, not out of calorie burning,, but out of a strong desire to tone and it just plain feels good and my day is off with out it! Who would have thought such craziness in my head a few years ago!!!! Now for me a typical day goes like this: Protein shake Greek yogurt (snack) 4 oz of chicken ( I order out with the girls or bring some from the night before. Things like chicken fajita meat and veggies, boaster chicken, chicken salad, bbq chicken, ect........... all meat no carbs) I will also eat 3 turkey meat balls (trader Joes frozen) with some spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese, it soothes my desire for a plate of spaghetti. Also from the dollar store I get tuna and chicken salad snack packs and eat them as lunch, some days I will splurge and order some Soup to go with the snack pack. Some days I have a a bit of the salad my co workers order ( they are huge!) they have either chicken or turkey and cheese with hard boiled egg on it. afternoon snack is usually a string cheese stick or hand full of cashews. I have noticed I suddenly can fit a LOT more in my sleeve this last month than before, and it scared me~ I just make sure everything is protien based and I exercise more! dinner is usually out with the hubby and I will have some veggie or onion soup and a tad bit of what meat he orders and maybe a veggie or salad.
  4. Totally normal! As a matter of fact abound my 6 week mark I stalled for like a MONTH! AFTER gaining like 4 pounds. Google some weight loss stalls and glycogen loss and it will all start to make sense. Understanding what your body is going through and accepting the numbers on the scale are 2 different beasts and it plays games with your head for sure,,,but trust me this will pass. During my month long stall, when the scale did not budge I lost a pant size! Now here I am again lost 2 and then nothing, yet my legs and butt are still shrinking and bones are protruding. ( it hurts to sit on hard things, how the hell do skinny people do it?) Just stick to the plan, don't kill yourself exercising too much and mix up the calorie intake get in plenty of fluids!
  5. So today as I sat at work flipping through a magazine I noticed an add for Old Navy introducing Compression pants,, now that I am into biking I was like hell yeah. So I go after work to find the grey/pinks on clearance. I instinctively grabbed and XL off the rack. They were HUGE! I find this hard to believe as I remember years ago their clothes were so skimpy I would never have stepped foot in the place for me. Well I ended up buying a medium and I think I could have done a small to tell the truth. I know at my weight there is no way I am that small!
  6. Could your nerves be making it higher? Is it white coat syndrome? Get a machine and right your numbers down at varying times of the day,,, record the lowest. What is really weird is you are going to be in a hospital where they could give you a med pre op to make your bp more acceptable to them. I was on 5 , yes 5 bp meds pre op. I came home on 0! As a matter of fact my bp was very low in the hospital due to all those great pain meds!
  7. Thank you! I know getting used to buying in smaller sizes takes some learning, however when I have a medium too big at 164 I KNOW they are messing with the sizes!
  8. At four weeks I too threw might back out. I have bulging disks at l4 and L5 A couple trips to a REAL chiropractor put back in place. Just adjustments, no selling ect. My guy is a sports therapists and dug out his PT cards and copied the daily exercises for me. He did not even try to sell me another adjustment,, he just lets me call when I feel my hips and spine are pivoting. After the first throw out I was fine with the exception of a couple tweaks here and there! Now down a 106 pounds I feel GREAT! My back is sore here and there, but not that horrid deep pain of the past. A word to the wise, if you can apply the term "Crack em and Rack em" to your chiropractor, he or she is a quack!
  9. I am by no means a board expert, but I am dealing with thinking hair, especially at the temples. My hair dresser recommended Nioxxium scalp treatment and it is helping! I see new growth! We were going to try Rogaine next if the Nioxxum did not work. She also showed me some ways to repart my hair and pull hair forward. The hair dresser said it was good to mix up the parts so the fresh hair is exposed.

I had a magic bullett for years before my surgery. I never really used it at all. i dug it for the surgery and I have not stopped using it since! I make Protein drinks with it, add fruit. I used it to mush my foods and no I use every time I am chopping and cooking!

  12. Just remember, if sitting in a resturant and looking at a menu your eyes should only be looking for what meat you want to eat. Once you pick a meat you will then have to look at the sides that come with it. You will tell them to keep anyting like potoes or rice in kitchen, ask for extra green veggies. Always tell the waitress to keep the bread or crakers off the table. If going to taco bell, order a chicken taco from the Fresco menu, no sour cream and eat just the meat, and when approve lettuce out it and throw out the shell. If the shell is going to tempt you, throw it away first! The new rule of the post op sleeve is you eat your Protein first, then IF there is room you move to a vegie. You wil best work your sleeve and feel restrcition with meat first, all else last. No dust yourself off, you know your weakness now.... avoid it!
  13. They are expensive and you have to mix them them yourself. I like Premier Protien shakes from costco, the chocolate flavor. They are ready made and taste like choc milk to me. I like the Bariatric Advantage strawberry and banana, how ever I would never have bought it at full price, I got luck and was able to by some from another person who had invested in all 3 bags and did not like them. Maxx from GNC or the Vitamin shop are close in nutrients to Bariatric advantange. Go to gnc , they have lots of samples for sale, HOWEVER watch the carbs in them. Many of the protien drinks have large amounts of carbs we do not want!
  14. Awesome, You have taken YEARS off your body!
  15. I think often times when family objects to wls it is more about how it makes them feel about themselves, rather than their concern for you.
  16. This seems to be a common statement among st all WLS patients. If you are on the line about getting the surgery done, this is the one line in all the posts you should pay attention to. While we all have different concerns and fears pre op, We all share the same post op thought. I WISH I HAD DONE IT YEARS AGO!
  17. You funny you brought this up. I seen a girlfriend for the first time since losing a hundred pounds. (she had no clue) and she was shocked, kept telling me how amazing I looked. I don't take compliments well, not used to them and tend to dismiss them. Then I had the occasion to see her a few days later and she told her son how amazing I look, she went on to say " The new improved on the outside but the same good person on inside". I smiled, but the words have stuck with me. Yes I will always be caring and loving and helping, going the extra mile for others. HOWEVER, I have noticed that I am more confident and assertive on some things. Of course she could not have noticed that in one lunch date. I have been stepping up to take care of business, even if it takes a toll on me. I will not let wrongs at businesses go unmentioned. I even opened my mouth up about crappy service by my surgeons staff and told him as great as he was, his staff could bring him down. Now with that said, there is a difference between being assertive and just plain mean! So as you loose, you will see that if someone says something you dislike, you tell them but you wont do it in a mean way. That would bring you down to their level.
  18. Surgery Cancelled

I am so sorry, that has to be very disappointing.
  20. I am shooting for145, but I have been sticking around the 165 range for a while now. I called my nut and she said our bodies just kinda figure it out and stay where they are comfy. While I will keep shooting for goal, I am not going to sweat it.
  21. Thanks, some interesting stuff, I hope they don't change the rules tomorrow:)
  22. Well at southwest, if you buy two seats they refund one if the plane was not completely full. That being said, check out my post in the General VS support Too big to fly, click here If you are booking to go to Mexico for surgery, you might ask if your surgical center has any recommendations.

    Telling your boss

I thought about staying quiet before my surgery, but as it closer I just told everyone. I figured they would all put 2 and 2 together. Being gone, eating tiny bits of food and rapid weight loss. Now that they have seen the results I get all kinds of compliments and I have helped a few others explore wls and share my experience readily with them.
