I feel fine now that is has passed, I was feeling it quiet a bit on its journey to the sewer. The emotional scaes are still raw from the hospital experience.

Thank you. The process is complete! It has passed with some pain yesterday! I have written letters to my Doctor and the President of the hospital. My PCP insists the president of this hospital takes this stuff seriously and calls patients back personally, too little too late, but I want him to hear the details!

Funny you say CHEESE, because that is the food that started all this! I was a graduation party and the only thing they had to eat was pizza and chips. I decided to have the CHEESE only off a pizza piece. It was the first time in a year that I had that and my dental appliance stuck to the gooey cheese and was down my throat before I realized it was gone from its place in my mouth!

Glad you had such a great experience,, but I have one question? What is the bad and ugly of the sleeve?

So today I rode my bike 20 miles and then went to a hour and a half of total body condtioning,,, does this count at a Biathalon??????

I joined because I am at 18 pounds left and despite working out I am not seeing the scale move out of the 160's! ARRRGHHHHHHHHHHHH! Over all I am pretty happy with my body now compared to where I started but DAMN the extra skin! I am starting to wonder if this is where my body levels off at???? I also wonder if I had the extra skin off of my stomach removed how much that weighs? I feel my bones everywhere! Ribs, arms, legs, BUTT, how ever the tummy leaves me disgusted.

I work at a police department and my surgery ended up two days before Thanksgiving which everyone wanted off along with the upcoming Christmas holiday there were lots of time off requests going on. Without telling my direct boss I filled out FMLA papers with personnel and then when that was all in place I wrote my boss an email telling him I was having surgery (I felt no need to share with him at that time) and I would be off for 4 to 6 weeks. He did come to me and ask if I filled out FMLA and I was bit confused so I went to his office and asked if there was a problem and he said no, just that a lot of people wanted off and that if was an elective surgery they were going to ask me to reschedule if I had not enacted the FMLA. To be on the safe side I got a note from the surgeon to say that was a necessary surgery as if I did not have it by Dec 31st I was looking at about 5000.00 more out of pocket costs. In the end I told everyone what I was doing, some before , some after as those I work closely with would be seeing a huge change in eating and when I went back to work the difference was HUGE (pun intended) and I needing new uniforms every few weeks was kinda hard to explain and remain quiet about it, also for me it is what it is, I was overweight and I HAD to do something drastic as working out and dieting had failed me for 20 plus years. I found not being up front was too draining, like lieing and that is just not me. Everyone has been absolutely supportive and I have even inspired others to diet and one person is on her way to getting the surgery herself! I have folks asking me for tips on eating, exercise and how to get started, I figure I am just paying it forward for the wonderful gift I have been given!

We eat out more often than not. I have only run into one situation where I could not find something on the menu that night, ( I think it was my mood) and that was the first and only time I ever said to the waiter that I had surgery and I can't eat a lot and he let me order off the kids menu. I just don't feel the need to share my medical history with strangers! Most of the time my husband and I share something or we order chicken fajitas or the like and share it. On the days I don't like or feel like having some thing different I just take home what I cant eat and have it for lunch the next day. Eating out costs have been cut in MORE than half! I have only been to the melting pot once but from what I remember I would just end up eating what ever the hubby ordered. NOW the dessert part would kill me,, how does one pass on the melted chocolate??????

Low Vitamin D - will this potentially postpone surgery?
myrori replied to Nancy Rivers's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Low vit d they believe can affect mood, cause infamation in the body and affect heart health. We produce enough vitamin d in one 20 minute exposure to the sun for the entire week. The quesion has become, since so many Americans are deficiant in it, is are we storing it? Vit K plays a big role in that. Once built up on on the prescription vit d it is a good idea to take a suppliment daily with vit k in it. ( some bariatric vits do this already.) -
Umm NO. I no longer feel it in my stomach, they thought they seen on the cat scan in the staple line that night. I never went the wls doc as the attitude from his nurse sent me over the edge! I am talking with a new bariatric doc to see if she is willing to follow me from now on, she does not do the sleeve but I am sure is capable of follow up care. If the appliance is stuck somewhere and requires surgery later, yes lawyers will be involved!

How much protien should u have per day?
myrori replied to RainyDay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My guidelines are 80 grams a day. In the beginning it is hard to get that in. -
I have noticed a lot more bout of gas since. Sometimes requiring some gas x help. It is getting better now so it must be something to healing and the body getting used to food, better food and digesting it.

Does EVERYONE experience hair loss after WLS??
myrori replied to Can'tweight's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
For me it is NOT lack of Protein nor Vitamins. I have been all over both since day one! -
I am totally dismayed. I called the doctors office as I was instructed too and they put the nurse on the phone and I explained my situation and she says to me "well I can put you in at 6 tonight but your going to wait like 2 hours." So I say to her should I wait all day? The er doc said to call you early because he might want to do a scope on me and the nurse snaps back with "that's not happening on a day he sees patients" with snotty attitude to boot. I put a call into my reg doctor to see what he says as I still have pain in my diaphragm area and I have developed a dry cough that seems to be triggered from that area. Time for a new surgeon!

OMG< I was just thinking about the waste of those Styrofoam containers too! There is more of those in my garbage than anything else! I received one recently that is both dishwasher and microwave safe from a take out place and I decided to just keep re using it!

I feel no need to share my surgical info. I order water with lemon,,, ends the drink q? If they have Q? about why I am splitting a meal with my husband or who ever, none of their business! I have never said yes to dessert in my life ( standard waitress q?) so I don't have an issue with that one.

What is up with therapist
myrori replied to gettingpissed's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In an ideal life our nuts and therapists would be VSG patients themselves. Until that happen they only offer there "EDUCATED"" opinions of what they think we should do, same goes for doctors. Do what is right for your, and you only! -
