I think maybe your doc was thinking if you lost half he was successful and set an attainable goal for you. You do what you feel it GOOD FOR YOU! My doc did not set a goal for me. I started at 271 and would like to get down to 145. I am 5 foot 3, however it seems my body has gotten comfy at this 161 range Now that I am sidelined with a broken foot and unable to exercise I think the scale may stick here for a while

Sometimes I buy it flavored or I buy plain and put in Toriani syrup or sf choc pudding mix or crystal lite mix also. It has been a staple in my diet since surgery.

2 weeks post MORE PAIN? declineing??
myrori replied to picnic011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First and foremost,,, little sips and little bites chewed very, very well! At first warm liquids seem to ease the stomach. The cramping??? Well my guess is that your new stomach is still inflamed from surgery and go into spasm when the food hits it. Warm and slow will ease this. It all does get better with time! -
Patient died in Mexico, who was the doctor????
myrori replied to christina420's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
In all reality you risk death more just by getting in your car, on an airplane for from the drug cartel in Mexico than you do from surgery. Deaths from surgery happen, just because it was Mexico does not mean it was a less than stellar operation. So many factors come into play with death from surgery, individual risks, the possibility of infection, doctor error, medication errors. I really think this whole thing is being blown out of proportion. If you were to look at cold hard numbers of deaths and complications in the US vs Mexico I think you would find more problems in US hospitals. Keep in mind I had my surgery in the US. -

My surgeon is retiring before my surgery :(
myrori replied to ginajeans's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You must really feel lost. I am sorry for that . Surley he has worked some kind of contract with someone to take over his patients. I agree, something besides "retirement" is going on. -
Super pissed and needing to vent (just need to cry)
myrori replied to Manda's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so sorry your Mom has her priorities all screwed up! Her first concern as a mother should be for her child and her Grandchild! My Daughter is in the Army and my Grandbabies are far away from me. Even if I was into dating, I would never give up one moment of time that I could be with grand children to see some guy! I would like to as Mom and a Grandmom to give you a virtual hug and send you my support! I am so happy your husband's unit gave him leave! YOU WILL DO GREAT with the sleeve and soon be looking FABULOUS! -
Attention from the opposite sex after surgery
myrori replied to FishingNurse's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I did notice at urgent care today I seemed to get more respect than I had in the past. Over the 4th I was at picnic and at 20 something year old kid asked my daughter who the hot chick was. ( I almost died ) , I do not tune into attention so much so I have probably missed a lot of changes. -
The upside of a foot injury after weight loss!
myrori posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So last night I was dozing off in the chair last and my grand daughter started to cry and I jumped up out a the sleep you first enter and my foot must of been asleep and all I heard was this loud pop as my foot rolled and I fell to the ground. Turns out at urgent care it is not broken but quite possibly a torn or ruptured tendon. The good news here????? After 108 pounds of weight loss I can USE crutches! I thought last year when I ruptured my Achilles tendon I could not swing on crutches because I was too old, not just because I was fat! Well turns out it WAS just because I was fat! I am concerned about my work out routine in the next few weeks, but my arms should be really kick ass after this! -
Anyone Wish They Had Not Done Their Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
myrori replied to Karelia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Never! Not one moment every! This has been thing in 45 years I have gotten right for once~ I LOVE MY sleeve! There in no comfort in the world like watching the pounds melt away, discovering what I CAN do, rather than not do and finding excuse TO work out rather NOT to work out! LOVE THE SLEEVE! and no it has not been all easy and or Cookies and cream, but worth every personal accomplishment, pound and mile I have put in. I NOW have the energy to take my toddler gran babies on and WIN! Ride 35 mile on my bkie, have energy that no words can explain. Total reality moment??? When my PCP said come on lets get you out of here,,, you are too healthy now ( minus 5 blood pressure meds and blood sugar med) to go and go and go! Workng on 4 hours of sleep and feel great! -
Congrats! Celebrate! Set off a fire work tonight, as it sails away or goes kaboom! Think of it as a kiss of fat forever!

You know someone else pointed out the cougar thing, I so did not see that one coming. Funny thing was at a party tonight ( a church one of things) a young kid in his 20's asked my daughter who the hot chick was. I was so totally embarrassed!

Congrats! I hear ya having to take 2 or 3 of everything to the dressing room, I thought shopping would be fun but it tedious trying to figure out the new sizes! However it is such a reward when you get to look in the mirror!

Being alone after surgery
myrori replied to mythreechildren2001's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Even though my husband was home the first day, I could not wait to send him back to work! He is useless and would complain when I asked for anything that did not have an easy open tab. Tea was out of the question. He had a hissy fit when he found out how the the blood thinner injections were at the pharmacy and embarrassed the hell out out. I was happy to have leave for work! I was fine, just sore and moved slow. So it boils down to you, have you had surgery before? Are you a do it yourselfer? Is your husband go in these situations or more of a bother? -
As I rode my back today I was feeling self conscious about my stomach area and loose skin on my arms,,, I know, I know. However the thing that struck me as I rode through the park this TOTALLY built man was there with his kids there and he did the acknowledgment nod,, like I accept you are riding for your health and working out. Totally cool!

These digital scales are VERY sensitive to any uneven surfaces and even a clump of unseen what every maybe naked to the eye under one of the feet! So I have this rule, maybe a head game, but it works for me. I picked a line in my floor design and that is the exact spot I weigh every morning,,, oh and ps, according to Dr. OZ the best time to weigh yourself is first thing out of bed in the morning after you have peed! oh and naked too! Now for the actual numbers,, you are always going to get a different read in at home then the doctors office! Last time I went to the Doc office I actually weighed in less there with clothes on vs at home naked! I can fluctuate 4 pounds in one day,, so put that scale away and make sure you ONLY weigh first thing in the Morning after you body and mind have had their daily reboot!

Unable to feel nauseous after sleeve?
myrori posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have never felt nauseous since getting the sleeve, I thought I have just been real lucky and not gotten ill since my surgery. However today I have felt off all day,, dizzy, weak, heart pounding but I did not put much thought to it. Then tonight this pressure started in my stomach, I felt it contracting and so I thought well I will try to get sick and sure enough up came everything. The weird thing is I did not feel nausea, just pressure and contracting. Has anyone else lost the feeling of nausea from this surgery? -
Unable to feel nauseous after sleeve?
myrori replied to myrori's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know you maybe on to something there,, I had cramps in my feet when I work up that morning! -
what med did they give you post op?
myrori replied to jennifer6791's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was on a diluad pump that let me press the button every 6 minutes, with additional shots allowed as needed. One push of the button the pain was GONE! -
Totally normal. they fill you with gas to see the surgical area, they fill you fluids via iv and you had trauma to the stomach area.
