today is 1 week post op !!! I have lost 8 lbs and 6 inches. I am starving... i cant stand all clear liquids anymore.......i cant wait to start puree diet!! i go wed this week to the dr and then I can start thursday..I am 95% back tomyself except headaches...anyone else getting them ? I think it is lack of food ..... thanks amy

I am giving myself the lovenox for 10 day post op too ! it does burn a little but I am happy to do whatever it takes to lose this weight. i think the there were way worse things we had to do for this. the drink test before surgery and after were sooo gross.... it was painful the day after surgery to lay on a cold flat slab drink salt water that was brown and roll left to right then the machine stood me up and they had to time how long it took to leave my stomach............... that was wayyyy to much for me. i rather inject myself anyday ! lol amy

I had my surgery on mon 13th and still have the gas pains...i walked did steps and sleep on my side. i take gas x every now and then when its sooo bad. good luck they say with in a week it should be gone...im just counting down the days ! Amy

i have clear liquid for a full week after then I see the dr and he moves me to puree foods that is a week long then i can have foods with lumps like cottage cheese and applesause with lumps then week 4 see the dr then regular food... that will be the first of the year for me... sorry to hear u have no gas x it is a blessing 1! good luck !

so when did you find the gas pain to be gone ?/ i am walking and doing the stairs at home to work it out. gas x is a GOD sent but last night i didnt sleep at all... i watched the clock tick ..the pain is a killer ! then this morning ate my jello too fast !!!! that is pain I dont ever want to happen again !!! lesson learned....i can only have clear liquids until next wed after my appointment with the dr. then it goes to puree...mmmmm i cant wait! hope everyone else is well.... amy

First off i want to thank all of you for posting what you have experienced..It has helped me more then any phone call i have made to my dr's office !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was banded on the 13th and things were a little ruff... 2 night stay and i came home last wed. today was the first full day home. i have had the worse gas pan ever !! gas x is a saver...someone wrote about chest pain THANK U i was getting scared ! the bathroom problems thank u again!! I only take 1 tylonal if needed but the killer is all clear liquids !! jello and juice and broth is getting to me !!! I did get mom to make homemade veggie soup and so i could have the broth ok never did I think I would cry over food until everyone sat down and mom made homemade bread with home made butter .... now I know why i am so over weight to begin with !!! Thank you all for all of the input !!! amy

ok so I go in tomorrow at 9:30 and right now my nerves have me BAD !!!!!!! I have had 4 BIG surgery before and the Dr said this one will be a breeze....i have packed and unpacked my bag and then I took a shower and then i downloaed new songs on the ipod... i am driving myself CRAZY !!!!! all of you that have gone before us what did you do the night before ?!?!?!? any help ??? hello All !!! i havnt been around in awhile trying to get all of the shoping done Mon is the BIG day 10 am !!! I am soooo excited ! today was my last day at work until the new year and i was skipping down the hallways !! i work in a school and they are out on the 20th till the new year not that I expect to take that much time to heal !!! all of my students said ms g see ya when your skinny LOL i said less of my but it will take some hard work to get skinny ~ my hubby isnt for the whole thing but i told him this is for ME... i just need you to understand and act like you care.... my sister keeps telling me what i will never to be able to eat again and mom and dad think it is a great thing... i thought long and hard I have been overweight MY whole life...this is for my HEALTH no more blood pressure pills well maybe not as many and I can get my sugar in control before it becomes a bigger problem..there are people out there that will make you second guess yourself.... dont think twice about it ..you know what is best for you go with th gut........ WOW want to talk about a scare..... I am geting banded on the 13th..I have been done all of my pre op testing for 4 weeks tomorrow I go for pre admissions at the hospital ...they called me and told me sorry you dont have a clearence from the heart dr.....I called my dr he said they were not going to use the one I had done back in july my first date that didnt happen( too long of a story for that) they needed a new one... 1 week left and they spring that on me ?!?!? was I glad when they called me at 4:59 and said we can squeeze you in the 8th at 12 !!!!!!! talk about pushing it ~ :blink:

I am getting banded on Dec 13th ! I start my high protien diet tomorrow. its not just liquid I can have hard boil eggs,string cheese cottage cheese protien bars... I know for my dr's rule is 2 weeks of Clear liquids broth Jello but the good news is alot of people I talked to say they dont want food for a while....its hard to picture this... i am at the point I cant sleep at night I am so excited... there is a down side to this for me the closer my date comes the more mu hubby is NOT happy......I dont care at this point. I have to do this to save me. i have high blood pressure and sugar runs wild in the family...dont want that either so he has to adjust !! keep in touch !!!! Amy

:DWOW our little Dec banded group has grown !! Welcome all !!! I did go c the nutrionist today.she didnt tell me to do the 2 week diet but I think I am going to do it on my own. I was told to start picking up the workouts. I tried only one pre made protien shake it was pemire it was tasty... I need to get ready the 13th will be here faster then a blink of an eye... hope everyone enjoys the turkey.....just think we will all be NEW next year at this time Amy

Hello Dawn, I am in south Jersey burlington county. does your doc want you to do a 2-3 week liquid diet before hand ? my dr said no need to do so. but i am wondering if it makes a big diffrence on the weight loss after banded?!?!:thumbup: I find myself eatting things now that i havent realy ate before but now I know I wont be able to eat them again I am

Dawn we have alot in comon, im 36 band date dec 13th start weight was 265 i am now 257 . i live in NJ so no nice sun here..its been cold and windy :blushing: i just joined a gym so i can do water workouts. i do walk with my 13 year old. she told my Dr the last visit that she dosnt think I need this surgery..he talked to her as if she was getting it done. explained why we get the lap band what it will do for us. she is ok with it now... I didnt tell my 21year old yet. he lives on his own and is very good friends with my x (his dad) i didnt want my x to know.. i sometimes feel bad that I havnt told him but I dont want the drama from the x... so i dont know.....i do know I CANT WAIT !!!! WOOO HOOO I am getting my band on Dec 13th !!! yes i have been eatting all of the foods you can longer have BUT i also started a workout plan ready for the new me !! i have told my family and a few close friends but i have found this week i am so excited I am telling every one that looks at me !!! I CANT wait... my family knows not to get me anything this year because there is nothing they can get me that tops this !!!!! amy:lol:

Hello, I would call the OBGYN. dont wait till tue when you go to the hospitial. let them do the blood test now. I feel for you. I have 2 children but always wanted a big family. I couldnt carry so after my daughter they had to fix it so i couldnt. get checked out, yes it could be nerves but dont wait till the last minute...Good luck !!! either way things always work out for a reason !! let me know Amy:wink2:
