hi??s sex after band

For purees right now I am eating baby food (I use lots of herbs and spices to make the bland chicken palatable) and mashed potatoes. I bought the premade refrigerated roasted garlic mashed potatoes from Shed's Spread. Very good and easy to measure out and nuke. For breakfast, I puree egg beater egg whites, canned tuna and avocado. 1/4-1/2 c of that keeps me full for hours. -
Holli, how I wish I were strong like that. I can put on a good front and the people will never know they hurt me, but inside, it sometimes really wounds me.

Six weeks and just starting to lose
bookwormswot replied to petrafarmer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for your post, Petra. I have been on puree food for 4 days and gained a pound. My doc told me ahead of time not to be surprised if I gain weight when I introduce food back into my system after 4 weeks of liquid, but it's still frustrating. It's good to know that it will come off eventually! Like you, I am not hungry either. I eat my half a cup of food (ok sometimes 6 oz) three times a day and that's it. I guess I just thought because I was eating so little that I would lose weight. But I guess after 4 weeks of liquid my body is holding on to all the calories it can. -
hi??s sex after band

I had a check up 8 days after surgery and was given the go-ahead for all "activities," but I waited until yesterday (day 17) for sex mainly because I wasn't feeling so sexy with all the black and blue marks and redness. By the time we did the deed, I had gone a good three days without any soreness so I had absolutely no problems with any position or any sexual activity. As for drinking, haven't done it yet, but boy am I craving a glass of red wine. My doc said wine was ok but didn't say when I could have it. Figuring I was a lightweight before surgery, I've decided to wait until I am on solid food before drinking (I am on puree right now) because I heard most people get tipsy more easily after being banded. -
Thanks, China!

Any wine drinkers out there?

Thanks, Padanelle. I get to start "soft" solids like chicken and fish on Thursday. I am definitely going to pick up a bottle of wine to go with it! -
Hi all. I am 34, female and happily divorced. I live in the northern suburbs of Manhattan. It's nice to meet everyone.

How long did you wait until you had wine after surgery. I am only 16 days out but would have loved a small glass of red wine tonight. -
Is there any difference between mixing a powdered Protein with Water as directed or mixing it in something such as yogurt? I am on Clear liquids with fat free milk and nonfat yogurt (dr orders). I really hate yogurt but I found it was much more appealing if mixed with a scoop of Isopure dutch chocolate Protein powder. This is also more enjoyable than mixing the same amount of powder in 11 oz of water to drink (amount dr. said). Do you still get the full benefits of protein powder by eating it?

Hi Maudi, I was just at my drs on Thursday, and he said all was good. So I guess this is the way it will be. I also had the issue when I was on the two week preopt. I lost 8 pounds in 6 days and then nothing for the next 6 and then 4 in the next two. Apparently my body randomly decides to retain Water. -

Holli, I am in the exact same boat. I was banded July 29, lost 7 pounds the first three days and nothing since. That's why these forums are great. It's reassuring to know others are experiencing the exact same thing so it helps keep me positive instead of getting depressed at the fact I am not eating anything yet not losing any weight. -
How long does procedure take?

Mine was also under an hour. Unlike the previous two lucky ladies, I was in the hospital overnight, even though my surgery was at 8:15 a.m. No complications or medical issues. I guess that's just the way my doc does it. -

These are great stories. Personally, I can't wait until I lose the weight and run into my ex-husband. -
The last two days have been brilliant. I was feeling good and back to my normal self. Now today, I just feel blah. I am exhausted, which has to do with a random gas-in-chest episode that woke me up at 5 and had me up until 7 so I know I didn't get enough sleep. But I also have a headache for the first time. I expected headaches when I went off caffeine three weeks ago, but they never came. I think today's is in relation to the weather. It went from 90 and humid to high 70s and rainy. Perhaps the weather is affecting my mood. I just want to sleep.

What you are going through now is my fear. I know I am going to have the exact same issues and it sort of terrifies me. I know plastic surgery will be inevitable, but what do you do in the meantime while you are still losing weight and look fabulous clothed but don't want to be seen naked and hate your new body?

Thanks for your thoughts, Jodi and congratulations on surpassing your initial weight goal!

I was banded on Wednesday and have lost 17 pounds since starting my pre-op diet. I feel like I am in a holding pattern at the moment. All clear liquids, no real working out, not even doing projects around the house. So what do I do for two weeks? And I am hungry today for the first time since starting all this. My tummy is making all kinds of noise. It's pouring out so I can't go for a walk. Grrr. I just keep repeating "This will be worth it." It will be, right?
