Hi All, It been some time since I posted, well so far I have lost about 3 stone since I was banded in Nov. I had some problems after my second fill with a chest infection that seemed to make it really difficult to eat when I had my second set of antibiotics I was in real pain when I ate and it was really difficult to keep anything down. Well to cut a long story short I realized that it was my sertaline that was irritating my stoma and it was the irritation caused by the tablets that was preventing me from keeping anything down (the combination with the antibiotics caused serious pain which finally made me realize what the problem was). Well the doctor changed my prescription and I got it in liquid form and now that I have been able to eat for a few weeks I am ready for my next fill. When I was trying to work out the problem I found out on another part of the forum is can be a pretty common problem with the sertaline tablets so I just thought I'd put it out there in case it might help someone. Slinky the fill in Dublin cost 110 Euro but I am sure Rosie paid in sterling when we went down in Jan.

I then transferred the deposit money and the operation date was confirmed. The next clinic dates for Dublin is Thursday 6th Jan and the Belfast (but it is actually Bangor) is on the 20th of Jan. Hi All, Slinky thanks for the encouragement, well I am feeling better today as I got weighed when I went to see my GP and l managed to lose 1/2 a stone in the past 3 weeks with my empty band. FattyPatty I agree with Claire if you can use some sort of liquid meal replacement with vitamins & minerals this would be good from a nutrition point or if you cannot stomach that then an adult liquid tonic from the chemist. Well it been just over 4 weeks since my surgery and I am feeling really low at the minute. I was supposed to get my 1st fill in Dublin on Tuesday. so Rosie & I travelled down in the snow only to find clinic cancelled. Was some what PO'ed as they didn't even try to contact us but they managed to let the people the rent the space from know early in the day. Now it will be Jan before i can get my fill and now fighting the urge to eat everything I see. So to top off a great day on my way back home on the train we had to get off at Portadown wait over an hour in the cold for a bus to Belfast and then because of the traffic missed my connecting train. Was very cold and miserable at this point but then my lovely dad drove to Belfast and gave me a lift home. Well moan over and good luck to everyone who has booked to get there band and great work for all those losing as you are giving me hope at the moment

Hi all, I am heading off on the 2nd of Nov to be banded along with Rosie Cheeks. I just wanted to say that I have found this forum really useful and to say thank you for all the info as it has helped to make this journey a bit less scary. Daisy
