chefjacki replied to Rchavez101's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I heard from a doctors nurse that the rice will swell up in your stomach and that you should stay away from it. -
I went to work on monday, was really tired when i got off, but each day gets easier. I feel pretty good, i am not having any pain but the belching is about to drive me crazy. I got to start puree foods today. beats the protein shakes. I am glad you are doing better. This is a roller coaster , ups and downs. let me know whats going on or i am here to listen if you want to vent.................. Jacki

Already Feeling Discouraged
chefjacki replied to DebH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
debH, don't be so down on yourself, we are all going through the same thing . It will pick up when we get a fill or two to that sweet spot and we will start losing the weight. remember, the first few weeks we need to concern our selves with healing and getting used to the body. I know we can do this, just think about the great things that are to come.............................................:smile2: -

Hey, I had that same feeling, had my band on 10/26 . I think that is pretty common feeling from what i have heard. just get them to check again for your peace of mind. I am are ready getting over the feeling and have lost 25 pds since the post op diet.Yeah me. -
I had my surgery on 10/26, wasn't hungry till about 2 days ago, but have till 11/10 to stay on liquids. Why is it some doctors have you on liquids 2 days or 1 week or 2weeks like in my case? I am starting to feel alittle weak, have lost 11 pounds in 1 week! I know at this stage you are to just be concern with healing , so i am kind of worried. I have to go back to work monday and i don't know if i can get do it. Next, when i do get to eat mushies, what are some that are good for you? I need ideas. My doctor did put 3 cc in at time of surgery, do i doubt i have any restriction. comments, please........................................................

Wll, I got to be included in this group. I was banded and had a hiatal hernia repair on 10/26 . Boy , it has been something. I have lost a total of 21 pounds since post op appt. I am so happy about that. It has been years since i have been this weight. I get kind of weepy about if. I guess its hormones, yeah that's it......anyway, i know i am not getting enough liquids, but i am trying. Not having much pain, just a little sore. I have only taken 2 pain pills since surgery[dont like the way they make me fill] I have already been to store and have been doing a little walking. So its going good, i have hungry pains, but i am not hungry..................Dont go back to doctor till 11/10. Hope everybody keeps on the same road to our new thiner selfs....................................:wink2: -

Food dreams upset stomach
chefjacki replied to krissy1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Even worst is the food commercials on tv. God, I hate those!! -
Yeah, my husband went and got me some gas relief meds. Hopefully it will get better. Did you know you had the hernia before surgery? I didnt , it was a shock to wake up and be told that they had repaired it. I think thats alot of the pressure we are feeling. the nurse said it was swollen from the repair, and it would get better. lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
thanks , i was able to drink some protein this am and will try some later. It just takes time.
-
Boy, this is worst than i thought it would be. besides being banded, they found a hiatal hernia that they repaired. I think that is what i am feeling . cant seem to be able to drink anything, doesnt sound good, doesnt taste good. I need to get some kind of liquid in me, but what? the nurse said there would be extra swelling from the hernia repair , and try to get some protein down. i am also constantly belching. ugh.....................................:sneaky:
