This makes me feel better about my LAP-BAND®. I thought that because I wasnt the 300 pound person that everyone stares at I was wrong for wanting the surgery(no offense to anyone). I'm 5'2 and 220 pounds and in my world thats called being "thick", but reality is Im obese. I have a lot of joint pain and my PCM thinks I have some form of arthritis. I just want to be healthy and free of joint pain. I also have PCOS which doesn't help anything either. Thank you and now I feel better to go to my first appointment on Friday feeling comfortable.

Yes I do have Tricare Prime. Im not worried about if I qualify or not. The lady I spoke to on the phone said I did. My BMI was 39.7 which she said was close enough. Im just nervous about the rest of the process and if tricare will approve it.

Hi Everyone Im extremely nervous about this lapband process. Im in the beggining stages. I will be having surgery at Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg if I get approved. I called this morning and the nurse ask me questions over the phone to see if i even qualify. I wonder if they would have considered me if I didnt qualify to their standards. I guess they go off of your BMI because she ask me my height and weight and my BMI turned out to be 39.7 ...close enough to 40 she said. Now I have an appointment on the 29th (Im assuming its a seminar) for four hours. I have told myself that even if I dont get approved by tricare that I wont be disappointed (disappointments are apart of life) She also ask me if I was taking any medcations or had any illness. I told her that I have PCOS...thats it. I got the feeling from her that she see's if someone is qualified before they even give you an appointment. Anyway...I qualified and now have to pick up my packet from Womack and attend my appointment.
