I am currently debating the lap band surgery. I had my son in 2007 and went on YAZ birth control at my 6 week visit. July 2008 I was admitted to the hospital by ambulance and diagnosed with a bi lateral pulmonary embolism. I was in ICU for 5 days and and another 3 in the cardiac unit. I am not trying to conceive another child, I gained 80 lbs on YAZ I have never been over weight till taking the medication. I am seeing a doctor for PCOS (another thing caused my YAZ) and still no luck. I know I need to loose the weight and believe me I have tried, weight watchers, diet, exercise nothing seems to work.
