What about those protien bullets? For being so small they have alot of protien in them! Maybe that would be easier than a big shake..Just a thought.......

From all the reaqding I have done, at 9 days out, shouldnt you still be on a liquid diet? Be careful! You have come so far, dont want to mess anything up!

My initial surgeon consult/ psych eval/ NUT consult was on 11/17. Paper work was submitted on 11/29 and I called UHC on 12/3 to check on it. They told me I was approved. Now surgery is scheduled for 12/21. I believe that if you are proactive in following up with UHC's care coordinator, you will find out your status alot sooner. If I hadnt of called, I would have still been waiting for an approval/denial letter to come in the mail. Best of luck to ya!

Hopefully all the planets align for you. I am scheduled for 12/21 which totally blew my mind. From the time of the initial consult to approval was 2 1/2 weeks. Needless to say, that was a blessing. All I needed to do was pysch consult, NUT consult and meet with surgeon. Best of luck to ya1:rolleyes:

APPROVED! I called the insurance company first thing Friday morning and they gave me the great news! My surgery is scheduled for 12/21. Pre-op is 12/7.

Their requirements were easy. Just BMI of 35+ co-morbid or BMI of 40+. Here is my time table: Initial Surgeon Consult/Nut Consult/Psych Eval 11-7-10 Submitted to Insurance 11/29/10 Endoscopy/Abdominal Ultrasound 12/7/10 Anyway, here's to impatiently waiting....

Hi all, I have United Health Care Choice Plus for railroad employees. Ive already called insurance and they do not require diet beforehand. I am scheduled to attend a seminar Nov. 13th. My questions were.... 1) Do you have to wait until after seminar to start all required testing? Does the Bariatric center dictate what testing is done? 2) How can I speed up process of tests? 3) If my insurance does not require a referral from PCP, do I even need to see my PCP? tHANKS.:cursing:

I would call that Dr again and demand your records. I dont believe they can purge records that are only 4 years old. Maybe they moved them to storage?

Thanks all for the awesome responses. I am calling the surgeons office today to find out what all I can complete early. As far as eating throughout the holidays , I am so ready to change my eating lifestyle thatI would rather just get this done, and fully enjoy next years holidays as a new thin healthier me...
