    Food for on the GO

I need some ideas for foods that fit in a cooler. I am a truck driver, currently working night, like to the tune of 12 to 14 hr shifts. So i sleep during the day wake in the late afternoon. When I get up at 330 I am to tight to eat anything, I have a carnation instant breakfast fortified with some powdered milk. What I need is ideas for good filling foods that fit in a cooler to take with me. I currently take 4 20 oz bottles of Crystal Light Ice tea, 2 meat and cheese cups. the meat is lean ham that is cubed, and different kinds of cheese. I also take some granola bars, and sometimes some potato chips. Any ideas would be great.

    FMLA paperwork

I had to use the FMLA for leave as I was out 6 weeks due to heavy lifting on my job. and they didnt not charge me 20 for every excuse I got, which was 3 when it was all said and done. FMLA covered me for short term disability pay which wasnt much but still was a lot better then nothing.

    Time off work?

It all depends on your job and the company you work for. I had my surgery on October 11, and dont work till November 22. My job requires me to do alot of bending and lifting and the doctor didnt really like me doing that so he restricted me to 20 pounds till Nov 22, my company didnt like all the restrictions so I just went on disability till then. It just depends on your job....

    Vitamins...

I take the Flintstone chewables like my kids, just take 2 of them. no need to buy different ones. my youngest thinks its funny that i take the same as him.
  8. When I started this whole process back in january of this year I was 440 with a BMI of around 58. They told me the only thing holding me back was i needed to be down around 400 for surgery, not because of the doctor or insurance, but because of the equipment in the hospital is only designed for up to 400. I started a diet then and when I went in for my preop on September 28, I was 400. I started the liquid diet the 1st of October and when I went in for surgery on the 11th, and discharged on the 12th, I was down to 380. It all depends on doctor and insurance is my guess.

    What's for dinner tonight?

My family and friends are having Pizza Hut and breadsticks. Needless to say, I wont be eating that. I think so chicken noodle soup is in order.

5 days post op and i cheated!

I am also 5 days post op! I did the same thing today too! if it stays down, no harm no foul is my feeling on this. I had chicken noodle soup, it tasted so good! dont beat yourself up over this. Just get back on the horse. We have been on a diet for so long that I feel this was no big deal. As for the up coming holidays, stop take a deep breath, think about eating it and how it is going to feel coming back up later. That is how i plan on eating thru all the tough times coming up. I have friends coming over tomorrow that are bring pizza for my wife and kids, it sounds so good, but I want some, but then I think about how it is going to feel coming up later that night. Hope that helps a little.
