After many years of yo-yo dieting, I became so disgusted with my weight loss attempts.  I had a doctor's appointment with my PCP and had decided I was going to ask about the LapBand procedure.  However, before the doctor came into the room, I had talked myself out of asking.  And said to myself...if he brings it up, then it is meant to be.  The doctor came into the room, talked at great length about my health and the medication I was already on.  He even talked about putting me on another medicine for my diabetes (trying it out) to see if it would help me lose some weight.  Toward the end of my visit, he said well..you can either take the shot (for diabetes and help lose weight) or you can do LapBand.  I was like...OH YEAHHHHHHH....I asked more questions about the LapBand and he referred me Dr. Johnny Perez.  When I first met with Dr. Perez, I knew then...this man was a gift from God and I finally had hope.  I am waiting for my nurse consultation, dietician consultation and behavioral health consultation which will be 10/28/10.  After that, I believe all my tests will be sent to the insurance company for approval.  My insurance requests at least 30 days for the approval process but the staff at Dr. Perez says it doesn't usually take that long.  I have already met my deductible for the year as well as all of my out of pocket expenses.  We are shooting for late November - early December surgery date.  I am on cloud nine!!!
