    Have the 1st fills helped?

My daughter and I have had 1.5 cc for our 4cc band and can tell no difference at all really. The doc says it take a good three fills until we will hit our "sweet spot" Would really like to lose at least 50 prior to my birthday in July.

    Pay for the band! Poll!

This was in Mexico Dr. Kuri $8,700 for my daughter and I. Needless to say I will be paying on this $17,400 loan for the next four years. We are both at a slow loss (Feb 23rd 07 surgery date) but I'm sure at the right fill level we will start seeing better results.

    Hi there! *waves*

Hi Wendy, My name is Jina and I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. I am 34 and I was banded along with my 15 yr. old daughter Feb 23rd. We just had our first fill on Thursday, so we are new to this. I'm sure I could provide some helpful information. Just let me know! Welcome to the board!

    really sore

Just thought I would let you know we (my daughter & I) felt the same way. We were banded a little over a week ago. I can honestly say it took us longer to heal. We had surgery on Friday and thought we'd go back to school/work on tuesday but there was no way. We needed a few more days so we went back on thursday and it was rough both thursday & friday. Since we have had another weekend to relax this week has been a breeze and sleeping so much better. Dr. C on this forum suggested Alleve for the pain and for any inflamation this help a lot and lasts a long time too. I do know EXACTLY how you feel, since we are just now getting back to normal. As far as sleeping I found it best to sleep on my comfy couch with big pillow behind my back propping me up and leaning a little toward the right (port is on the left) then another pillow under my knees, or to sleep in the recliner because it's basically this same position. I have slept in my bed two nights in a row now. I hope you feel better soon and I hope some of my advice will help you get through this.....

    New site is up!

Hi Dr. C Your site looks great! I am in the Cincinnati area and my daughter and I just returned from TJ, Mexico, Dr. Kuri performed our Lapbands. Would my daughter and I be able to do follow up care with you? Also on our flight home I got really sick, nothing came up but I had three episode where I was dry heaving (sp?) and a very hard painful burp...I am hoping I did not hurt my stiches around the band, and I'm not sure what I did to cause this. Also, my pain is far below my port on the left side more in my pelvic/ovary area kinda of a burning pain is this normal? Thank you ~Jina

    A little Depressed

I thank you for posting this, our surgery is Feb 23rd and of course my thoughts are continually of this procedure and how if will change our life. I was betting that I would have some depression, which would be odd for me as I am one of those gals, that smile and never show when I'm blue. Please let me know if and when this fades as it will help me to know what I can expect...I too think it will be more of a mourning of my old day to day ways.
  12. Ted~ Thank you for your reply and I am glad you posted as I did not get your initial response. We are getting very nervous and I being a worry wart am wondering if I made the right decision. So your post has eased my mind somewhat. I am nervous about the flight (although my daughter loves to fly), travel, surgery and any after problems. I will never know if I have made the right decision until after we are back home safe and hopefully with no complications. I hear so many wonderful things about Dr. Kuri. I am more nervous about going out of the country, more so than having Dr. Kuri. My daughter looks much older than her 15 yrs so I am going to get her a state id made. I am worried we will have problems getting back into the US with it being more strict now. Any more information you would like to share would be wonderful. I need someone to ease my mind as possible. Thank you!!
