Well as being a dependant wife of a military serviceman for many years like 22, the drs have hounded me about my weight and I was sick of them calling me obese. I also have asthma and everytime I was put on predisone here came more weight such a vicious cycle. To make a long story short, when the base drs tried to talk me into gastric bypass since they now did the procedure and being a new grandmother and wanting to watch him grow up, I decided to take the bull by the horns and decided on the lapband so if I had any problems it could be reversed. I had my procedure done on Jul 2008.The first year was great, lost 65 pounds feeling good. Then due to meds they could not do anymore adjustments. Then this past year I have had 8 outpatient surgeries for kidney stones, kidney dr. said from results of labs on stones it is from lapband, now I am also low iron anemic and b6 anemic and on meds for that. I am beginning to feel that I would be heatheier without the lapband. I guess I am one of the few that has had side effects so don't let me affect your decisions this is just what has happened to me. Oh yea, the constipations sucks. lol I have tried Miralax, Metamucil, ducolax, forget the milk of magnesia it is awful tasting lol.
