    Port Incision Infected....

Mine did that too and I just covered it with neosporin and a band aid and it healed just fine.
  2. I'm six weeks out and finally just this week the scale started moving since surgery. Don't worry, it'll happen. Lapband is slow weight loss. Relax and take a walk.

    Scars Aren't Healed

I think mine looked pretty good by the time I got my first fill, but they did the exact same thing yours are doing. I just put a band aid over them with neosporin to help them heal and it was fine. As long as you don't have a lot of redness around them or fever in them you should be fine. I had a few stitches that didn't disolve and worked their way to the surface. After I pulled those out the healing went much faster. So don't freak out, you should be fine since they're not split wide open and oozing.

  5. Just found out the length of the track I have been walking and happy to know I've been putting in 2 miles a day. But now that I know how long it is, I may try to get more than 2 miles in especially on the days that I get off work early.

    Gallstones!!

I had my gall bladder out 2 years before banding so I wasn't an issue for me, but my surgeon does both at the same time and prefers it that way rather than submit patients to anesthesia and possible infections twice.

Do you know what I really miss?

I miss pecan pie and krispy creme doughnuts and rotel dip and beer and I need to stop now because I'm making Myself hungry lol.

    my doctor is stupid

Maybe you're not getting enough calories. If you're working out that much you need more calories. You're body thinks it's starving and holds onto everything you put into it. Maybe talking to a fitness instructor where you work out could give you better advice on the matter. Good Luck!

    Phentermine & Lapband

I was told not to take anti inflamatories like aleeve, advil, tramodol. ect. Unless it's going to be for a short period of time and then only take it after taking a prilosec to protect the pouch. My doctor said anti inflamatories can eat/burn a hole in the stomach pouch. But thanks for the info on the phentermine!
  11. Today is my daughter's third birthday! She's getting so big. :)

    Phentermine & Lapband

I was thinking that in this point in time, while I'm in banster hell, it would help keep me from starving. And it DOES work. I lost a lot with it before, I just didn't maintain my habbits when I stopped taking them. I only have about 3cc's right now and I'm hungry all the time. I'm using will power, but it sure would be nice to lose the hungry feeling until I have enough Fluid in my band.
  14. I am in the same place as you. I've only had 2 fills and sometimes I feel like I could chew my arm off. I was doing the same as you for a while and then the will power slowly set it. Now I drink a LOT of water and if I just can't stand it I will get a healthy snack like yogurt to hold me over. I'm still new and trying to adjust just like you, but try to remember, protein first, then veggies. It will help keep you full longer. I am also considering going back to see the nutritionist again. Sometimes I feel like I have all the rules mixed up and need to be refreshed. Good Luck! And don't beat yourself up, starting fresh again is a good way to get back on track.

    question??

My first few weeks after surgery I sipped my drinks. I wasn't sure how much my stomach could hold or tolerate. You should probably start out sipping until ou learn how well your stomach will tolerate food and drinks.
  16. I have deciced to back off on the Lean Cuisines. They are delicious and great for my schedule, but they are too high in carbs. Most all of them include some type of pasta or bread and we are supposed to stay away from that stuff. Maybe that's what has been causing my plateau? Going to stay away from them for a while and prepare my own meals and see if that helps.

    TrueProtein.com?

I have never tried them, but let me know how they taste if you do order them.
  18. I haven't seen the scale move at all in about 3 weeks now. Maybe I should do liquids for a day or two? I'm only 12 pounds from onderland and getting impatient to see it.

  19. Wow! I just ate a slim fast peanut butter crunch snack bar and it tasted just like a Butterfinger!! So good!

    Post surgery memory loss???

I am the same way. Can't remember anything anymore. I have to ask my 5 year old to remind me of things because I just can't remember anymore and like you my grand mother also died of Alzheimer’s and it scares me too. I've noticed this happening to me for several years now and I have had previous surgeries but never thought momory loss could be related to them. Maybe it's stress related. I hope anyway.

    Eating like a vacuum cleaner!

I have that problem too. I haven't figured out how to deal with it jus tyet. so far I have only given in and eaten things I shouldn't. Hope someone will provide us some good tips for dealing with this.

    I have lots of questions

I have the same problem. I have only had one fill so far and still have very very little restriction. This is the part most people refer to as banster hell because we have to use self control (and I have little of that). This week has been especially hard for me since aunt flo is visiting. I have been eating bad things at least once a day every day. Can't wait til she leaves town again. lol

    The End of Summer Challenge

Checking in at 212. Didn't reach my goal (not even close really) but happy that I lost weight instead of gaining. Looking forward to the next challenge. Maybe I will do better next time now that I am getting fills. Great job everyone! Let's keep going.
