Congratulations! it is so wierd to anticipate for so long and then-boom!- It's really gonna happen! I am in the middle of two weeks of pre-op protein shakes and clear liquids...6 more days and my life changes forever! I am ready due to others who have gone before me with success...you will too!! Good luck!

After months of anticipating insurance approval, it finally came!! Now it seems as if everything is fast and furious...saw the surgeon Friday, pre-op testing tomorrow, Nutritionist consultation next week and the 29th it will finally happen! I am required to drink protein shakes and clear liquids for the next two weeks to reduce the liver size...that's certainly do-able. Spent the weekend having some favorite foods that won't be possible for a while. I am excited, and trying to get my head around the fact that this is REAL!

You sound so much like me! Just got my date (9/29) and am having my pre-op tests on Monday and starting th protein shakes. After all these months of waiting, it is now REAL!!! Best of luck as you continue the journey...you can do it...,and so can I!!

Thanks for your support, Don! I havn't really been pigging out, but having things I know I won't be able to for a very long time...tonight was pizza! 3 pieces...It could have been worse! lol
Here's a wierde question for you...,since you have lost soooo much weight and have obviously changed sizes many times...did your shoe size change?? I need some shoes but don't want to have to invest in continued changing widths...kind of a silly question! Keep up the good work, my friend!

I just got my date yesterday and it is the 29th...can't believe it is actually real now!! Start protein shakes ande liquids on Monday for 2 weeks.....any tips on surviving this??

Thanks for the lesson on posting...I need help with electronics often! Well, the news is I got my surgery date yesterday! I see the surgeon tomorrow (FRiday), pre-op tests on Monday...diet class on the 24th, cleansing day on the 28th, surgery on the 29th...can't believe it's actually here. Monday I start the protein shakes for 2 weeks (any vtips on surviving that??) So guess what I'm doing???EATING! Probably not too smart, but it's like the last supper!
You are having fabulous results...I'm so proud of you...keep it going!

I'm hanging in there, though can't seem to get myself completely back on track. Things at my job are very stressful and overwhelming right now....a great trigger to over eat! Trying to stay busy...Let me know how Wed. goes!

You are so right...we have to ride the ups and downs. m I9 am trying to distract myself with an activity when I really want to eat. Sometimes drinking something helps...hang in there...keep the goal in mind.....our new life!!

Thanks, Don..my eating is getting more out of control. I hope seeing the professionals this week will help me to get my mind back on track. Things are reaalllyy stressful at work so I fell into old habits...I've got to get my resolve back before I put all my weight back on !! Julie

Thanks for walking me through that...I'm sorry if I repeat my questions. This is my last week of supervised dieting and then they can submit to the insurance for approval. Keep up the good work. You have great self-discipline and are doing a phenominal job!

Hi Don, How has your week gone? Are you still feeling well and doing okay? I have been doing pretty bad. I was so focused for 10-11 weeks eating exactly right and now I am struggling...my doctors/psychologist/nutritionist appts are next week. Hopefully I'll get back on track before then. I'd hate to show a gain!! I have trouble navigating this website. How do I get right to you and Bunkerport, my two newly banded Elgin friends???

T hank you so much, Linda! Where in Elgin are you? I would love to meet! What school do you work at? I am off until the 24th so could work around your schedule or meet you on the weekend. I work at Larkin and live over behind the Jewel near it. I am so glad to hear that it all went well for you too. My last doctor appt is the 21st though I may call to see if there is anything earlier available. I see the nutritionist and psychologist for the last time next week, I think. I've had my pulmonary and stress test and don't need the sleep test coz I already have a CPAP machine. I will probably have a test down the road to see if I can NOT need my machine. So, besides a date I've gotten everything done! I am a little worried about managing the food/drinking at school but will just have to be organzed. Originally, I wanted to get it done in the summer but it didn't work out. I think it will be fine a I'll be busy at school and less focused on my situation...just want to do it ll right. I'm sooo glad to hear you haven't thrown up!! Right now I am in MN helping my daughter get settled into her sorority house but will be home Monday night. Talk to you later!!
