So I take Wellbutrin and after surgery I am supposed to crush it and take it with applesauce. I guess for better absorption. It tastes soooo nasty! I gag and can hardly get it down. I have been taking it whole, but I asked the pharmacist today if I really need to crush it and yes is the answer. Tried tonight with protein pudding 🤮 what do y’all do? thanks!!

    Creature of Habit

Just venting LOL I am realizing that I am a creature of habit. I had my breast augmentation 12/30 and it was an involved surgery which I need to rest and not exercise. It’s killing me. I feel lazy, I’m eating stuff I shouldn’t because I’m home all day, I’m out of my routine, I can’t cook for myself and much as my hubby tries it feels like I’m eating at restaurants where I can’t track my food. I feel so blah! I’m tired and lethargic. I’m committed to get back on track tomorrow and told my hubby that I need to get better and stricter since I can’t workout. I cannot wait to get back to the gym to do some cardio at the least. 😮‍💨

Well, January Buddies, sounds like we all have our individual struggles. I'm just over 2 weeks post-op and I'm trying really hard to get all that liquid in too 😵‍💫 What helps me is to remember that this is a marathon - not a sprint. We're in it for the long haul. And I just keep working to overcome the struggles, and have discovered that doing that strengthens my resolve to keep working at it! Kind of like a mind game. Hope this help you too.

I remember my hands especially were so puffy with fluid. It took over a week just to get back to my day of surgery weight because of all the fluid. But you're still losing fat even if the scale doesn't show it, so don't worry!

    August Surgery buddies

This life is really hard and we have so much hurtful self talk that has wormed its way into our brain; it is going to take time to break through that cycle. I would say work on seeing a therapist, if possible and if not, find an app with daily affirmations. It takes time to mute the inner critic and have a more positive mindset.

Agreed and understood. I think now it's time to adjust my lifestyle because I def can eat more. And it scares me.

    Calories at maintenance shock

i would be wary of any dietician that prescribes the same maintenance caloric amounts to all their patients without taking individual size, weight and metabolic rates into account (among a multitude of other factors!) i would be especially be wary of any dietician, when asked for a reason for his/her prescription, answers with "i don't know". as with all things, listen to what you are told and advised, but also make informed decisions on how to deal with your body based on observations of its responses to stimuli (i.e., caloric intake in this case). the 2000 calorie suggestion is an AVERAGE and does not apply to all. STATISTICALLY, only a small very very small percentage of the population actually requires exactly 2000 calories. the vast majority of the population fall above and below 2000 cals. thats MATH people. with that said, i am a 5yr post op, 5'2", 51 yr old, currently 117 lb female that maintains at about 1800 cals a day...and has been doing so for about 2+ years. (i used to maintain at 2300+ cals a day, but i was exercising like a fiend those days so it made sense). everyone will have varying maintenance calorie levels...if u can figure out yours and adjust as necessary, you are golden. Good Luck! ❤️
