    Sorry I haven't reached out sooner - glad to hear you are out the other end and you are doing okay ❤️ Congratulations! TMI!: I had to have the pessary when I was in the hospital as I just couldn't poo 😂 It did work but I ended up having this strange explosive bowel movement that had lots of old blood in it - proper freaked me out but a nurse told me it was normal and was just residue blood from the surgery. I wish she had warned me about this prior to it happened so I wasn't so concerned about it, but IF anything like this happens, don't worry too much! But either way, apparently doesn't happen to everyone. Definitely keep away from the scales for a bit as a lot of people find that their weight is a bit higher immediately post-op so just wait until you have healed! My surgeon didn't want me weighing myself until at least 8 weeks pot-surgery (I lasted about 4 weeks 😂) Hope you are well ❤️

    So glad to hear you're out the other end of the surgery OP. My advice is prioritise your fluid goals for the first week or two. Honestly vitamins and protein goal and almost everything else can be caught up on later if you can't make them right now.

    my stomach had full on conversations with me for the first two or so years post op. it was pretty loud too, omg. i'm 6+ years out and on the rare occasions it may make a sound here or there...like maybe once every 2-3 weeks. i can't figure out the circumstances that makes it happen, these days, but i don't have any ill effects, so i'm not that concerned....

    Hi !! Thanks soo much for sharing ! 48 lbs is incredible congratulations I’m so so happy for you! Walking 5-7 miles on top of yoga is amazing you are crushing it !! The recovery I’m a little nervous about this time around because I have my toddler running around now lol. My husband really is super dad and assured me he has it covered but there’s just times that mommy is all my little guy wants 😅 I had my consultation today & we went over a bunch of things including a full body composition analysis , goals, and a few different options of how we can achieve them including both going the medication route or revision surgery. We ultimately decided on surgery but the type of surgery he said he would like to talk about after I do a swallow study and an endoscopy so he can see what my pouch is looking like these days. He also went over a detailed risk/benefit calculator with me for each surgery but the SADI wasn’t included in any of these conversations- I’m going to mention it to him at my next appointment!! He also let me know that my insurance requires 2 months of nutritionist visits which I’ll be doing my first on Tuesday to get the ball rolling. Thanks again for all of the information! Really so helpful and nice to get another perspective.

    Thoughts about Iron supplements

    Pro Care Health multi with 45mg iron is what I took after my sleeve and my levels were always good too. Now I had SADI revision so I take their SADI specific one with a little more iron. I haven’t done any labs yet but I feel fantastic so I’m expecting them to be good.

    I know programmes differ hugely but my surgeon placed absolutely no restrictions on caffeine and I was hugely grateful. I have no idea whether there is good evidence that caffeine consumption affects weight loss after bariatric surgery but I suspect very much not. @GreenTealael do you have any evidence to share? I am a coffee, not a matcha drinker, but I know how much I valued those coffees in the weeks and months after my surgery. Might be worth drilling down into the actual evidence based practice with your team if matcha means as much to you!

    Oh yea. Take that sooner rather than later. Better to have it too loose or often then to get real constipated. My team had us start on stool softeners twice a day as a preventative and take milk of magnesia as needed. Straining can really hurt you right now so better to be on the safe side.

    Getting up does kinda seem like a chore when it’s painful and you’re not hungry or thirsty anyways but it’s good to get up to avoid possibility of blood clots. When you do get up try walking a bit further than just to the kitchen too. You will see that you can do a bit more each day. Don’t rush it, of course but do get up enough to prevent clots. My goal was every hour but if I’m being honest I didn’t quite make that. Also, don’t forget to do your spirometer thing. The walking, spirometer and fluids should be the priority. Protein and vitamins are important but not nearly as important as the others. Take each day at a time this first couple of weeks. You will get in your groove soon enough.
