    Food Before and After Photos

Ok so the first weekend of every month (so people don’t assume I have $82 grocery bills all the time) I do the majority of bulk grocery purchases for that month. I ended up spending $482US after rebates. Not pictured is 5 cases of water, 5 12pks Gatorade zero, a 20lb bag of rice, 4 6pks Pepsi zero, and 2 big bags of caramels that teens have claimed as their own. The last 4 pictures are Flashfood produce that was $15.75. Half of the plums will get the dehydrated treatment, half the peppers will get frozen, the dragon fruit and avocado cut and frozen for smoothies, and I might try my hand at preserved lemons. The very last picture is the yucky produce that was in the order. I usually don’t sweat a few things being bad as it’s usually such a good deal.

Lately by ovaries and uterus have been trying to kill me so I’ve been nauseous and in SO much pain. They’re being evicted soon so 🤷‍♀️ hopefully I’ll have relief. Like today I had a protein shake (maybe?), a large frozen coffee, 1/3 of a gas station pizza thing (like a calzone but honestly awful), a grape gummy, and 1/2 a serving of spicy carbonara ramen.

"lot of people don't know that most diabetics of color have dark rings around the neck called acanthosis". White people also have this sign/symptom of insulin resistance. Mine disappeared along with my weight loss too! Although, I was prediabetic.

This weeks win: I am a diabetic but since loosing over 100 lbs my A1C is within Normal range and I take no more diabetes medicine. A lot of people don't know that most diabetics of color have dark rings around the neck called acanthosis that is a first sign indicator of insulin resistance. I was cleaning my neck with some witch hazel and noticed damn I do not see that black ring anymore. Major Win 🏆 .

    Cost of complications

Yes I checked the reviews and they were good, he was the surgeon that had trained the surgeon that did my lap band years ago. He was late that day and I was the first patient of 7 so maybe he rushed through my surgery or maybe it was something to do with his finger injury a month prior. The surgical center said “your blood pressure is a little low so the surgeon wants you to spend the night at the hospital as a precaution, he will text your husband the address of the hospital to meet him at” so looking back yes I think they downplayed it to get me out of there. On the way I kept passing out. The hospital he sent us to was 49 miles away because apparently he doesn’t have rights anymore at the one that was a few miles away. I had asked his office staff previously what happens if there are complications and they said the surgical center is close to the hospital. A lawyer won’t touch this because the Dr. doesn’t have malpractice insurance (that’s something I kick myself for not knowing and hopefully anyone reading this learns from my mistake) and they say I don’t have permanent injuries from it. You would think with the trauma, stress and all the bills even besides the hospital bills, the hematologist, cardiologist, paying for someone to help take care of my specials needs daughter, the extended recovery time would matter but it doesn’t. Thank you both for the advice on the insurance and what to do with the hospital billing department. I get on all that first thing tomorrow.

This sounds like the surgeon is distancing himself as far as he can. For goodness sake they didnt even get you an ambulance ! You may need to speak to someone to start a negligence claim. I am so sorry this happened to you.

    New Clothes

It is really strange! I think I have only felt like this once in my life when I got down to 12 stone when I was at university, and I was just in shock 🤣 I genuinely stopped clothes shopping when I was at my heaviest, I just didn't feel like I deserved it and I didn't want the embarrassment, as a result most of my clothes I have now are very tattered so I will be happy to get rid haha! Thank you! Congrats to us both! I am really happy you are feeling that way!

    Food Before and After Photos

Bought a slow cooker and this is its first outing: beef cheeks. Two huge 400+g (almost a pound) each cheeks. Had to cut them into quarters after a couple of hours (and they were more tender) otherwise they still would’ve been cooking today. 😉 Forgot the mushrooms so added them a couple of hours in. Supposed to blend the stock & vegetables & simmer to reduce for a gravy but I couldn’t be bothered last night when it was ready. I’ll freeze several portions for future meals.
