Literally is! It is so strange that the mind just refuses to believe that we are a smaller size now, but I kinda like that I am pleasantly surprised every time 😂 Thank you so much!!

    Psych evaluation?

Hello so my surgery is being planned in November assuming I pass the psych evaluation on Wednesday. I'm extremely worried about passing the evaluation and what the evaluation is going to entail can somebody give me a basic idea thats been through it before? Im getting the gastric sleeve operation. I've already filled out their questionnaire and they gave me about 150 questions to answer but the questions give me no clue about what questions the psychologist is going to be asking me aside from trap questions like "I can eat whatever I want after the surgery." Obviously clearly a trap and you're supposed to clearly answer strongly disagree to that question but other questions were not so straight forward. I also have a history of mental illness (I'm schizoaffective) does that mean that I automatically fail my evaluation?

    Psych evaluation?

I completed the evaluation. She didn't tell me if I passed or failed but she did mention a few things. 1. I didn't know a lot about the surgery and couldn't remember the side effects so I should talk to my doctor before the surgery and get a refresher. I looked them up on chatgpt after the interview and was reminded that my doctor did talk about them but it was over six months ago and I forgot. 2. She did mention that my wife and I should be working on "her giving me everything I wanted" before I have my surgery and not afterwards like I mentioned. She also mentioned that I cannot have diet soda at all or anything carbonated although my nutritionist said it would be ok after my stomach heals. Umm what else. It was an almost hour long interview but we got a lot done. She had a lot of questions. I'll call my bariatric team on Friday and ask them if they got the results in yet. If not I'll ask Monday. Because I'm really curious on what she's going to say I need to work on. I know she's probably going to recommend I sew my nutritionist again before my surgery which they're already doing. I might have to see my surgeon too to get my questions answered and for him to personally go over the surgery with me and what he's going to do. But, all in all I think it mostly went well.

Thanks! Haha, yeah, that LBT workout does kick my bum, but like you said, in the fitness world, that’s a good thing! 😅 Your group fitness class sounds like it will be a great challenge too, but it’s awesome that the instructor is so welcoming and encouraging. You’ll be surprised how much you can do! The blister sounds annoying though, sticking to walking and yoga is a smart move until it heals up. I’ve been thinking about trying yoga myself, but I know I’m so stiff! Still, it seems like a great way to get more flexible and improve balance over time. As for the pregnancy thing, oh my gosh, you made me freak out for a second! 😳 I really don’t think it’s that because I’ve seen signs of my period, but still, please no! 😅 You’re right about the surgery affecting everything, including hormones. I think it’s just part of the whole adjustment process. Hopefully, it will all settle soon.

Arabesque I appreciate you so much you have no Idea.I was thinking I made a mistake but I am going to trust the process… And do everything I know to do meaning I guess it’s time to do some light cardio lol… I haven’t exercised in so long but I gotta get back at it.. You speak like someone of experience and I truly am grateful for that… I will keep you updated and if you need to vent as well I am here 😊 I have read your messages a few times because they give me comfort.. My family and friends don’t understand because im not 295 anymore but when the scale starts tipping back up I panicked they couldn’t believe I paid for another procedure but I had to do this for me… I have to start living for me.. I will trust the process and fight my emotions in the meantime

Sometimes if you can’t see something you don’t think it’s there but there are sutures and staples inside you & you will be swollen internally. You will heal you just need the time to do it and that is the purpose of the staged return to eating solid foods is for: to slowly get your tummy used to digesting denser and denser food while it is recovering until it is fully healed and you can tolerate ‘normal’ solid foods. And your stall will break. They always do. It will take time (1-3 weeks usually). A stall is your body thinking what the hell is going on and taking time to work out what’s happening and understanding your new needs. It’s been through a lot with the surgery and now the recovery and restricted diet. Your poor body is stressed much like you are emotionally at the moment. Stick to your plan. You only need to go back a stage during this time if your body is struggling to tolerate and digest the slightly denser food at each new stage. Remember back to what happened with your initial surgery. As I said this recovery will be similar.
