    A Sparkling New Week

A nice, positive week last week 🙂 Weight gain - gone with a couple of extra pounds thrown in for good measure. Our anniversary dinner was lovely. As autumn has hit with a vengeance (non-stop rain and cold 🙄) the dress I was going to wear was relegated back to the wardrobe so I bought a smaller sized top and IT FIT!! I was so pleased. I was able to wear a nice set of underwear, a skirt I couldn’t get over either my stomach or my arse a couple of months ago and a smaller top and dressy jacket. I’ll be honest, it felt wonderful to be in smaller sizes and not feel that I was trussed up like a chicken in clothing that was too tight or something that didn’t really suit me. I didn’t even have to wear pully-in control knickers - the shock!!😮 I called the Bariatric admin on Friday, just to enquire about the MDT etc and was told that it was around a 3 month wait to go to the MDT. This should be around the beginning of December. At least I know now so can stop wondering. I will just carry on with what I’m doing presently and wait for the next steps on the WLS journey 🙂 Went back to the gym today and really enjoyed it. I upped my levels and really felt the difference. Will see if I can get out of bed without crying tomorrow, just to make sure I didn’t overdo it! Hope everyone has a wonderful week! Onwards & Downwards 🥳

    Food Before and After Photos

also ok, one last over the top food order as my road trip has come to an end and i *thought* i was starving and everything sounded so good. the side garden salad that automatically came with the entree. i had just one forkful cuz i wanted to conserve stomach space. french onion soup. this was probably the best tasting broth of a french onion soup i ever had omg. but it was a little oily from the cheese and lardons (! never had lardons in an FOS before and i didn't hate it). drank maybe 1/2 of the broth, with a small bite of a cheese covered crouton and a 2-3 lardon pieces. a burger and with a side of mushrooms. I did not even try the burger because the height of it put me off and the bread looked like i would be picking pieces out of my braces for days. the mushrooms however were so yum, had maybe 5 of them. i also ordered an "extra" side of bone marrow...i ate one with a bit of the bread (maybe 1" square?), as again, i wanted to save stomach space. luckily, i ordered beef tartare with sweet potato fries with the intention to share with the table. since i didn't want the burger, this became my entree. tartare was delicious, ate maybe 2/3 of what is shown here, plus 4-5 sweet potato fries dipped in the the spicy mayo. ....and yes, not to worry, my meal companions ate almost all of what i didn't. i can always count on them! i have no idea the calorie count, i did not track anything i ate the past few days. tomorrow morning i'll see if all this food tracking abandon made a diff on the scale....

So many awesome WIns this week ladies! My win for the week is keeping moisturized and hydrated. I will share this for neck, face, under eye! It is heaven! I love a good face routine. While loosing weight it's important to focus on our neck as it may start to droop! Well we have to focus on our entire bodies! So many changes!

    REVOLVING TOPIC ON MAINTENANCE

Because I am still 'fairly" early in the journey (a little over 9.5 months post-op) I completely get your fear and worries. I go through the same cycle of thoughts and what ifs, I wonder if I'm eating too much, too little, losing too much, regain....etc. so I get it. What I can tell you is that you used your surgery to build really good habits and that is eating well most of the time, steps, weight training...etc. and I'm sure those replaced your previous bad habits. Please do a mental comparison of yourself pre WLS and post WLS and see how much you've changed. From what I gather is that you took up exercise after WLS and that gives you great advantage. Your body will build muscle and lose fat simultaneously and you will be at the peak of hypertrophy so take that chance to build as much muscle as you can (fat burning machines). I can tell you that someone at your height and activity level would need quite a bit more than 2000 calories to maintain, so you're still in a deficit. And the beauty of it, is that you can always dial back up or down when you see changes on the scale! Weight fluctuations are very normal (up to 10 lbs), yesterday I was 53.2 on the scale and the next morning I was 53.9 overnight! I know that I was getting my period that day so I knew it's water retention, no biggie! I think you absolutely got this!

    Yoga Supplies and Tips Please

I bet it is just because they are too loose. I am about ready for the next size but I think they will still be a little too snug. You know how In the extended sizes they make you go a couple of inches before the next size which is so unfortunate. Once you get down to the “normal” sizes, there are more sizes in between so I’m sure I will find some to fit me better down the road. I actually am still within the return period for Amazon, maybe I will just send these two back and get the smaller size. If they are not comfortable anyways I may as well wear something I already have that isn’t perfect. At least that’s free. Or maybe I will be pleasantly surprised and they will just fit. If that doesn’t work, I will check out Nike. I just hate to spend a lot knowing that I’m still losing. Then again the ones that I got were not super cheap either, $30 bucks. I ordered some that were three in a pack for $30 and the material was just horrible so I went with the same brand as my bicycle shorts and I really like the material. I only have two pairs of the shorts so I have washed them every other day for over a month now and they still look brand new (navy and black not faded). Plus, they are really soft.

Arabesque I appreciate you so much you have no Idea.I was thinking I made a mistake but I am going to trust the process… And do everything I know to do meaning I guess it’s time to do some light cardio lol… I haven’t exercised in so long but I gotta get back at it.. You speak like someone of experience and I truly am grateful for that… I will keep you updated and if you need to vent as well I am here 😊 I have read your messages a few times because they give me comfort.. My family and friends don’t understand because im not 295 anymore but when the scale starts tipping back up I panicked they couldn’t believe I paid for another procedure but I had to do this for me… I have to start living for me.. I will trust the process and fight my emotions in the meantime

I had my RnY surgery on Sept 14, 2023 and took the picture on the left the day before wearing 48" jeans and a 4xl shirt. 12 months and -130lbs later, I'm wearing a 36" waist jeans and an XL technical shirt. Even though I'm wearing them, I hold those jeans up every time I put them on and say, 'There's no way these are going to fit' as I slide them up with ease; they just look so...small. Ideally I'd still like to lose about another 50, but we'll see where I end up.
