Iโ€™m one week out of surgery and Iโ€™ve been consistently hitting 4000 steps a day since I left the hospital a couple of days ago Iโ€™ll take that as a win any day

    Where my shorties at?!

Iโ€™m a little surprised that your doc suggested the sleeve if youโ€™re already having esophagus problems. Iโ€™m not a doctor, but my esophagus hernia excluded sleeve surgery automatically. Yes repairing can happen the same day. Be prepared for recovery taking a little longer with a sore and swollen throat. Everyone looses weight and recovers at different speeds. Just keep thinking about how much you are improving your health and quality of life.

    New Clothes

Congrats and enjoy wearing the clothes now as they probably will be getting loose in the coming weeks/months ๐Ÿ˜€. Did you get all of what you tried on? I still honestly don't see a thin me a lot of the time. I know that I don't have to shop in the plus size shops or sections anymore but I find it difficult to comprehend at times that number of sizes I have come down. In my jeans and trousers I have gone from a UK 22/3XL to a UK 8. I think part of my problem though is also the inconsistency of sizing across different brands, it doesn't always help with a healthy body image. I mentioned it in another post this week about my holidays in the US last week, I found it very hard to find clothes as in some cases even size 0 and XXS was too big, all I came back with was a rain coat, t-shirt and blouse in XS, tracksuit bottoms in a small and a youths small t-shirt and tracksuit top (thankfully the shop had the same tracksuit for youths and adults ๐Ÿ˜‚). Seriously disappointed as I had brought an extra suitcase with me which came back empty though on the plus side I came back with more than half of my spending money. I still do double takes at times when I see myself in the mirror. Today I brough another three suitcases of clothes to the recycling center. It took me three trips to walk there with the full bag each time but it also helped me get my steps in.

Yeah, the new sizes and THE OPTIONS are a real head spinning thing for a while. Well done!

Hard agree. One cracker will mean nothing unless it's right before surgery. But more than that will. I hope you can stick to the pre-op diet from here on. I was meant to have 2 weeks on liquids pre-op but that turned into 6 for various reasons. It is by far the worst 6 weeks I've had to experience in the almost 3 years since I signed up for this surgery. It's really really hard not to have SOMETHING with texture in your mouth. Please do know that it will not be long until you can again.

You're welcome! Yeah, I noticed that. I did read somewhere that with a SADI you can subtract an additional 5-10 lb loss on top of an RNY. Not always guaranteed but usually equal to an RNY.

Just got a pair of pants in the mail that are a smaller sixe and they actually Fit!! I think they are snug in the hips and said I needed to lose a bit more before wearing them but my husband said heโ€™s pretty sure thatโ€™s how they are supposed to look. Regardless, I got them on and they are not uncomfortable. Thatโ€™s a win in my book.

Walking around the lake with my dog yesterday, I noticed that my feet kept sliding around in my sneakers. I had to stop and tighten them as far as they go -- and now they're serviceable, but I can still feel areas where they certainly don't fit right anymore.

I had surgery the 7th and had a pretty rough recovery. I was on OXY and Morphine in hospital to start and got released yesterday. I am now down to taking more normal post op pain meds and hopefully just at night.
