Can you get them altered? Wouldn’t be all that difficult - straight seams. If you’re not someone who sews though it will cost some money. Might be worth an inquiry to see how much. The drop in clothing size is frustrating. I barely had a chance to wear any of the smaller clothes I’d kept from the past. Either missed the window (seasonally) or barely got them out to wear when they became too big. Sigh! I bought some new expensive clothes when I thought I had stabilised which became too big within a couple of months. When your smaller the weight loss to drop a size is much smaller than when your larger.

Omg i have gained and lost weight so many times in my life to include a really big chunk with the sleeve 3.5 years ago and I understand completely what you mean. It’s like I am still the SAME EXACT PERSON that I always have been on the inside!! It’s almost like when someone dies and you feel guilty enjoying something without them. I feel like if I fully accept a compliment I am letting my overweight self down somehow because they deserved all the same compliments but never got them. At the same time you feel guilty for not just accepting it because someone is trying to be nice after all. But the male attention differential is almost too much. I realize over and over again just how invisible I am when I am overweight. Surprisingly women are actually this way too if you pay attention. And what’s worse is once you lose a lot of weight and start to look really hot, some Women start to treat you differently again. The women will find you a threat and the men will assume your a beyotch. I guess we have to look good but not too good to deserve respect and consideration in todays society. I have said it over and over again. Life is a fashion show. I honestly don’t think this will change in our lifetimes.

My paperwork says 64oz goal. Minimum 48oz so there may be a minimum for you?. I would check with your team though your circumstances could be different. The last thing you want is to get dehydrated. It’s really not fun.

Exactly. And then my mind goes to "Oh, I KNOW why I didn't deserve the compliments when I was bigger. I wasn't THEIR idea of pretty or fashionable or sexy or anything THEY liked looking at". As if I liked what I saw when I looked in the mirror.....

@SleeveToBypass2023 It is so hard isn't it Like, you know that people are just trying to be nice and genuine, but part of you can't help but question why and ask why you didn't deserve the same compliments when you were bigger. Such a battle mentally!!

You can tailor your clothes with just needle and thread! Youtube has fantastic videos on how to hand sew clothes.

This varies greatly by state, as each states' laws govern what is essential vs cosmetic medical procedures. For example, my work insurance is based in Tennessee, and all bariatric procedures are 100% cosmetic, so no coverage at all! To further complicate things, individual companies within these states can have varying coverage depending on how much business they get from your employer. Even if a company like Blue Cross or Aetna cover it for employees of one company, they won't for others. You will really need to look into the offerings you have available, and call them directly. You may have to get assertive with them to get a straight answer. I had one make me go through programs and jump through hoops to prepare for it, only to tell me they wouldn't cover anything when I went to schedule surgery. One even told me they would not cover any future medical procedures if I have it done anyway! I'm with another company and insurance plan now which didn't cover it either, but they didn't blacklist me for having a self-pay procedure. Good luck, hopefully you're more successful than I was with the insurance company.
