    Taking Tablets?

I was able to easily swallow tables about 4 or so days after surgery. The initial post surgery swelling made it painful the first three days but once the swelling went down it was okay. Spread taking them out. Like I had two multi to take so took one in the morning & one at night. Make sure you eat first before taking your vitamins because they a make you nauseous As you’re still on fluids, take your tablets (singularly) with the last sips of your shake. Remember too not to take your calcium, iron or PPI tablets together (wait an hour or so) between.

    Help, pre-op mistake :(

While 2 scoops of icecream 3 days before surgery won't cancel your surgery, you definitely don't want to do that again. Your stomach need to not have the solids in it, especially this close to surgery, because of the anesthesia. If you have food in your system, it can cause dangerous problems for the surgery. You also want to think about low to no sugar icecream for after the surgery. I don't eat sugar and I am still able to have it. I get Rebel icecream from WalMart. Very low to no sugar, lactose free, very low to no carbs, low calories, absolutely delicious. My favorite flavors are coffee chip, butter pecan, and orange cream. My husband's are birthday cake, triple chocolate, and cherry something (I can't remember the name). They have other flavors, too. One thing you want to remember, and this really helps me stick to my diet, is there are delicious, healthy, compliant alternatives to the things we love. Icecream, bread, bagels, pizza, cinnamon buns, chicken nuggets, etc... There are ways to make good choices, but you have to want to make them. Being compliant, particularly post surgery, is so so important. WalMart, SafeWay, and Kroger brand stores (Krogers, Fry's, King Soopers, etc) have them. Look for Real Good Foods, Legendary foods, and Atkins.

ok. first let me say that regular exercise may not affect the number on the scale as much as diet does, but it does WONDERS for your appearance and well being. starting something that is beyond your capabilities or desire is a sure fire way to alienate yourself from exercise even more. how about starting small: walk around your neighbourhood; vacuum your entire house more often. do some gardening or yard work. you can even start SUPER-small; take the stairs instead on the escalator; park further away from your destinations and walk the difference. once you get ur body used to moving regularly and hopefully develop an actual liking of endorphins, it may be easier to make the transition to something more regular and challenging. good luck! ❤️

Exercises for those who hate exercise?

yep, yep and yep, i went from being an avid avoider or sweat pre-op, to a dedicated walker around my kitchen island post-op, to walking around the block, to walking around the block multiple times, to RUNNING around said block, to running 5K every other day...etc. i had a bit of an exercise lull (for me) due to an injured toe for a couple years for a bit back there, but today (at 5+ years out) i perform some sort of dedicated exercise 1-2 hours every day (the majority if which is in the form of pilates or hot yoga or running, with a side of 10-15 mins of strength training). full disclosure: i probably have some sort of low grade mental issue/addiction because i actually feel sorta bad or fomo-ish if i miss a day. mr. keeps telling me that need to take a rest day but i just cant seem to do it without feeling yuck. am working on it...🤷🏻‍♀️

    Mood Swings

it's common - but not inevitable - for women of child-bearing age. It's because estrogen is stored in fat cells, and it's released during fast weight loss. People report mood swings and screwed up menstrual cycles because of it. But it's temporary.

    February 2024 Surgery Buddies?

I had a nice weekend in NYC and the Hudson River Valley, and managed to get 25k steps in one day by walking from my hotel in the Financial District to a venue on W 26th St in Chelsea! It was a great walk and I didn't even feel exhausted by the end of the day. Sore feet, sure, but not terrible. I was excited to buy a bunch of new T-shirts for the summer at Old Navy as my old tops are very large now. I figure they should get me through to the fall, and at 50% off, it was a bargain. My weight hasn't really moved much, but I was pleasantly surprised to compare last month's photo to this month's. 6 lbs wasn't a lot on the scale but seems to be more visible than I expected. I'm still having trouble with vomiting if I eat anything reheated. It's making it hard because I just can't cook every single meal, and if I go to a restaurant, it's enough for 4 days but reheating makes me sick. It's getting warmer now so I'm opting for some cold dishes like smoked salmon and cucumbers or Greek salad with chicken. At least with salad, the chicken is okay a second time because it doesn't get reheated.
